Oh! How I want to continue to go to Grandy’s. For 30 years I have enjoyed breakfast there. My wife and I go most Sundays to this Trinity Mills location. We would take the paper and eat the not buffet breakfast. I loved their wet, buttery scrambled eggs. Over the years, it is clear that there is no money to invest in infrastructure or decent employees. It is like walking into the same store 20 years ago. No repairs, crappy repairs, poor maintenance, sad store. Recently they painted part of the structure with red paint that looks to have been applied by the cook. Awful. Despite the want of décor, we kept going back. It was a tradition. But today, we decided we could not continue. The last two weekends, the eggs have been awful. The service has been spotty. Oh they try, but it is not enough. Other locations — Rockwall and Lewisville — are better. So skip this one. Grandy’s, I have loved you, but all good things must end.

I came in really wanting to buck the trending negative reviews. Never been to Grandy’s before, but after this, I may never go to one again. Let me start out with the positives. The staff seemed nice, and there was no time spent waiting in line. Now the reasons for the one star. First off, the place was filthy. The floor near the ordering counter was covered in a drink that looked like it had been spilled several hours ago. The counter near the drink fountain was nasty and covered in spills. The floor throughout the rest of the restaurant was also very dirty. I even witnessed the owner telling an employee not to clean off a table. What’s that all about? You would think having an empty restaurant would at least give them time to clean the place. Now the food. I ordered a two-piece chicken meal with white gravy, baked beans, mac and cheese, and a drink. Two meals came out to about $ 18.50 after a $ 1 off coupon. Way too expensive for this kind of restaurant, but I figured maybe thr food was really great. Not so. I got a Coca Cola from from the drink fountain. I don’t know how exactly, but it tasted greasy. It was also clearly very old, like the concentrate had sat in the machine for a few months. If you can’t get Coke right, it does not speak very well of the establishment. The rolls were actually good! Not great, but good and warm. Tasted alright too. The chicken was alright at first, but I could not finish the second piece because the texture and flavor just weren’t good. The gravy was good, but the chicken was barely passing. The mac and cheese was flavorless and unsatisfying. Kind of like eating some paper maché. The baked beans were downright terrible. The flavor was fine at first, but a few seconds after taking a bite, it really just tasted nasty. Bad after-taste. All of the food was at a good temperature, but the flavor was very poor. In conclusion, this place needs to be cleaned badly. Most of the food hardly deserves to even be called food, and the prices need to be drastically cut. I had high hopes for Grandy’s, but all I got was a big bill and a sad experience.

Wait time was a bit long but I didn’t mind since my order was freshly made! I like that they didn’t have food just sitting out. Food was delicious and service was great! I appreciate their hard work!

The folks who work here are by far the rudest people working a drive thru… I have purchased breakfast here almost every work day for 5 yrs. After 3 times of complete rude behavior at the drive thru window I will not be going back. Stay away!

Went through the drive-through and was told they were out of chicken. They said«People usually call in ahead of time.» Really? Clearly they are not interested in serving fast food, maybe a pizza franchise would have been a better choice for this branch owner.

I think they got new management but the last two times I visited was an unpleasant visit. The staff is unfriendly and isn’t very engaging and doesn’t really feel welcoming. I drove up to the drive through and was greeted with a «yeah?» and the amount of time it took to get my food in the drive thru was a little ridiculous.

This location recently got an outdoor makeover, but has same dingy interior… the 80’s called and they want their vinyl kitsch back. Food and service decent. Rice pilaf was undercooked. Seems clean, but everything is so old it doesn’t LOOK clean. But it doesn’t even smell like food in here! Shouldn’t I smell chicken frying, rolls baking, or buttery cinnamon? This franchise is a shell of its former self.

The building is old. Lots of rust and dirt. The place was sticky and messes everywhere. But the customer service was great and the food was decent.

Got here at 735am Sunday. Nothing on the buffett. Guess it is still too early? Ordered the Sunshine Platter and it is gross. There is nothing ‘homemade like mom or grandmother’ when it comes to eggs from a carton or cold stiff pancakes. Never again. Restaurant is very clean. The cashier could use some training on how to make conversation/suggestions for someone like myself that has not been here before.

You get what you pay for I suppose. I came for the breakfast buffett but was surprised that I could not find clean plates when I wanted to try something different. The staff wasn’t very attentive either but given the price I can’t complain too much. Nevertheless I probably won’t come back.

I always eat the CFC, and although Cotton Patch’s is better, Grandys is decent for the price($ 4.99) plus its only a few blocks from where we live

It’s Grandys. Decent all you can eat breakfast buffet, good rolls and mashed potatoes. Good cinnamon rolls. Not really one to review fast food. Eat here if you have no family or nowhere celebrate a holiday such as Christmas or Thanksgiving.
