This place has always been the bomb. I’ve been going here for 15 years. I don’t live in Carrollton anymore. I’ve traveled across the country and the world to enjoy food, but the best normal donut shop lives here. It doesn’t sell fancy donuts with bacon and doesn’t specialize in donuts the size of your head, but the donuts are moist, fresh, and NOT too sugary at least compared to these other places(looking at you, krispy kreme).

This is a cute mom and pop shop with fresh donuts every morning. Prices are average and they have plenty of variety. The owners are very friendly and always accommodate you. They also offer croissants and egg and cheese burritos.

It’s 25 degrees outside and although many stores and shops are closed today due to inclement weather, I notice one business that’s proudly open on my drive home. The bright neon signs in front of Ranch IV Donuts entices me and I suddenly find myself forgetting my diet as a strong craving of blueberry cake donut overwhelms me. The sleet slaps me in my face as I hurriedly cross the parking lot and enter the shop with the familiar smells of fried doughy goodness greeting me… Chapter 2 – The Encounter Nah, I’m playing. For 2.80 I got a kolache, bavarian creamed donut and a blueberry cake donut, all of which are fabulous and all of which will surely ruin my diet. The cake donut was the bee’s knees. The woman working was incredibly friendly and felt the need to open the door for me on my way out. I guess she wanted to make sure I didn’t slip and fall on the ice without tasting her donuts first. I also enjoy the little paper bag that the items come in. It says, «You Deserve a Donut Today!» Why yes I do, Ranch IV. Yes I do.

This donut shop has been around before I was even born! Never had a bad experience! Donuts are AMAZING, and their sausage rolls are to die for. I recommend this over Krispy Kreme or any other donut shop around any day!

Best donuts ever. I have had the pleasure of being a patron for over 10 years. Fresh donuts, never greasy. Love the buttermilk one!

Where did these Asian people come from, and who taught them to make donuts? These are questions for men with skinny arms. If you know anything about donuts, Ranch IV Donuts is the pinnacle of donut art and science. I must make a counter-claim to the other reviewer by saying that I have never had less than great donuts here. I don’t know how the folks here are related to all the other area Donut-X shops with Asian-Americans behind the counters and in the kitchen. Is it family, business, ethnicity, coincidence? Who knows? In my experience the other places are generally a good bet for good donuts, but for some reason Ranch IV is the best of the bunch. If they were all part of some Chinese Donut Mafia Conspiracy you’d think they’d all be the same, like McDonald’s. Life is full of mysteries. The folks at Ranch IV have some secret donut knowledge. Treat yourself to the fruits of that craft.

Our Order– Buttermilk Glazed, Apple Fritter, Cream Cheese Danish, Chocolate Donut Holes, and Jalapeño Kolaches Plus– The buttermilk donuts were fantastic! The fritter was also pretty good. The kolaches were ok, they would have been better had they been heated more. Next time I will definitely ask for an extra 30 seconds! Minus– The danish was not very good. It was hard and did not have much filling. Overall– I will come back. I enjoyed the donuts enough to make this my new donut shop.

Second stop on my 2011 donut tour of Dallas. Basic set up is the same as the other countless numbers of donut shops in this city run by humble Asian women. It is cash only, however. Overall, the thing to go for is the sausage rolls. They come in all varieties– plain, cheddar, jalapeño and cheese, croissant. Seriously, probably the best I’ve had in Dallas, a statement I do not make lightly. The breading is perfectly soft, with a unique sweetness which compliments the spicy and salty pork of the sausage. They don’t look any different than the other guys but they are definitely a cut above. The donuts were good as well, but a little inconsistent. I found the cake donuts to be better than the yeast donut varieties. If you want superb donuts, go to Shin’s donuts in Irving, best in the city. However, Ranch IV puts up a good fight.

I am glad I am the first person to review this, Ive gone here for over 20 years, Bar None THEBESTDONUTSEVER!!! Not only do they have donuts, they also have kolaches, croissants, ham and cheese croissants, danishes, and muffins. now the lines can be long due to the schools around or before church or weekends. but its worth the wait. Ive driven far and long and always end up here when Im in town.
