Shipley DO-Nuts

I tried other donut shop around the area and none of them come close to Shipley’s. Their donuts are so good. Serve warm and fresh in the morning. In my opinion, best glazed donuts in the world. Reminds me a bit like crispy cream. Line can be a little bit long in the morning, but it moves quickly.

If I could marry Shipleys Do-​Nuts I would! I love this place and the fact that it is open 7 days a week from 5am-​2pm!
I come here pretty frequently on my way to work (even if I’m running late, grab a few for the boss and your golden!) and before/​after hikes with my little brother and he loves them as well.
Their donut holes are amazing as well as everything else there and the prices are reasonable. I haven’t ever gone here and then run out of much. You will always find something you like! Grab and few bucks and check them out!

the cherry, strawberry donuts with a cold strawberry milk are the bomb. with a couple of kolaches to get the morning started. this location is busy on the weekends but has good quality donuts and service. allways worth the stop to the rest of your day.

While some of their offerings can be hit or miss, stick to basics like glazed and chocolate iced donuts and you won’t be disappointed. I can’t even finish a Dunkin Donut knowing that these are out there.
Koloches are the best I’ve had north of West, TX. I can’t believe one of the other reviewers didn’t like them. Try for yourself and make up your own mind.
Only reason I gave only 4 stars instead of 5 is because they occasionally run out of stuff by the time I get there at 8−9am.

I love Shipley Donuts, but this location was a huge disappointment. I went in at 7:45 am when they should have had plenty of everything. I ordered an apple fritter and a sausage & cheese kolache — both staple items for Shipley’s. They didn’t have either. The gentleman in front of me ordered ½ dozen glazed donuts — another staple item — and they didn’t have those either.

Got some donuts and kolaches here yesterday around noon and they had a great selection out to choose from. I ordered half a dozen donuts and half a dozen sausage cheese kolaches and after I paid, the guy helping me threw in two free sausage cheese kolaches and a bag of donut holes. Everything thing tasted great to me! I will be going here again for sure.

I have been to this store many times over the past few years and have turned a blind eye to mediocre service and food. Today the cashier was unfriendly and failed to offer me change. Add to that the food was not at all fresh and it’s safe to say that I will not be back again.

I miss Shipley’s! I haven’t been here since high school and I live in Boston now where Dunkin is on every corner. The donuts were so fresh and I loved the kolache. I will definitely go back every time I visit Carrollton!

i don’t get the bad reviews for this place, i had the best donut of my life there yesterday. I am from Boston, which is the home of Dunkin Donuts. There is literally a Dunkin’s on every corner here. But Shipley’s had the best chocolate filled donut i have ever had. So soft and fresh, and it was onlu 80 cents. I almost wish i lived in texas so i could come here more often!

As Daniel’s Dallas Donut Tour (DDDT) 2011 commences, I found myself feeling obligated to finally sample this long-​time chain, which I have so frequently passed by for bigger better, more home-​grown locales.
Today, I should have kept on driving. Unfortunately, I have to give them one star special, but because I didn’t even finish one donut. No desire. Half of them just ended up in my garbage. They were all quite awful. Chewy texture, scant and uneven icing, these donuts had all the charm of the 5 PM discount donuts at Kroger.
Sure, the selection is generous, but with many more quality establishments literally minutes from this establishment (see Ranch IV Donuts), don’t waste your time or calories here.
Officially renamed: Shipley’s DON’T-Nuts.

Went here after a co-​worker brought some Shipley Do-​Nuts into work.
This definitely has a hole in the wall feeling to the place. I went there after lunch so I wasn’t expecting the best selection of do-​nuts, but they still had a decent amount.
The filled do-​nuts and cake do-​nuts were very good. The filling seemed more jam like the dunkin donuts.
I’m not sure if they are made with less preservatives or I just got some older do-​nuts, but they don’t seem to last longer then overnight so keep that in mind.

Wow, really? I am in shock and awe that Monica didn’t like the Shipley’s kolache. It must have just been a bad day. I am a sucker for those little piggies (with cheese)! Unfortunately, I have to pass Shipley’s stores on my route to work. It’s often easy to pass by the first one, but I cave by the time the second one comes near. Sometimes I can’t stop the craving even if I’m running late! Granted, the kolaches aren’t your typical Texas style but they are some of the best in my opinion. I’m not a big donut eater, but Shipley’s donuts look and smell delish! I have also had the hot chocolate here and it’s grrrrreeeeeat! Especially on a cold day.
This location is the closest to my house. I do have to mention, the boss lady in here seems a bit like a slave-​driver. She’s a little off-​putting. Let’s just say she’s not exactly soft-​spoken to her employees.

Damn you Shipley’s. I have been to maaany Shipley’s Donuts all over Central Texas. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in your pigs-​in-​a-​blanket, or as us Texas hicks call them, kolaches at this location.
I am just pissed that they tasted oh so bad. BAD. I won’t be going back to this Shipleys.
There is nothing worse than anticipating a good piggie and getting CRAP!
