Steak ‘n Shake

Had a 2:00 pm lunch. Near empty restaurant. Unusual for Steak and Shake.
My service was excellent. His name is Robert S.
My bowl of chile was not hot. not cold but just warm. The ffs were also tepid and may have been there for a while.
Steak and Shake needs to invest in store management.
They can do better and have a history to prove that point. This store has never had a good reputation. Why?
Went back for lunch today.
The service was excellent.
The double burger was excellent.
The ffs were excellent.
I’m glad I went.

I would have to say this is the worst one I’ve been too!!! I take my kids every Saturday to the one near my house, we stopped on a road trip here and it was horrible!!! First of all we where the only ones in the building with a manager standing behind the counter, she didn’t knowledge us she turned and yelled for the only server to come out. We asked to sit on the patio he said no because his manager said she didn’t want to send food outside!!! So I said we’d take it to go then. She was very annoyed with us for wanting food! The male sever was nice and tried to over compensate for her rudeness. Our food was missing items and she didn’t want to make me sunny side up eggs because she doesn’t like them!!! She was so rude that my kids asked if they could just eat somewhere else. Be warned this place sucks!!!

Worst Steak n’ Shake in the USA! Corporate has had to step in a couple times with this place because the management is so screwed. When it takes you an hour to get your food, it’s not a good thing. We went once and our waiter said that 8 – 10 people walked out that day because they were owed money from the owner and were never paid. For some reason they never make my milkshake correct. I order the Mint Oreo shake and it never has Oreos in it, there’s only a few crumbles on top and that’s all. It’s never been like this in the past. I’ve sat in the drive-​through for 30 minutes to get a milkshake! Then I hear about one of our friends son and his girlfriend. Being owed a total of $ 1,600 from this Steak n’ Shake. That was the straw that broke the camels back, I will never be back to this location!

Though the food was decent, they were very rude to my husband when he asked if there was a discount (which we know there is) and didn’t give it to us. My husband was very polite and the young man looked at him as though he was stupid and said «nah, we don’t» with an eye roll. Also, we did not receive a receipt so we didn’t have the opportunity to file a complaint.

Worst Steak & Shake I have ever been to! After the fourth consecutive time of getting our order wrong not only in the drive thru but sitting down I am fed up. The service is slow and while taking our order the last time not a single thing was right. The fries were also half filled and the food was cold (see pictures). Absolutely unacceptable. When we called to tell them, the manager politely offered to give us a refund or remake the order but we do not live nearby and we were not going to drive back up there. The only reason for 2 stars was the manager. This place needs help. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced burger joint in the area try the cookout. It’s like fine dining compared to this place!

Poorly ran! Dirty! Slow! And very unprofessional. I’ve been to several steak and shakes. This one stands out in a bad way. It’s a shame that such a great restaurant isn’t maintained for this area. Hopefully the owner has been made aware of its shortfalls.

Good food. Had the royal burger. But the service was slow and inefficient. Our server Robert had his undies hanging out and seemed to be overwhelmed even though not a busy night.

If it weren’t for the fact that it is now 24 hours, I would only leave 1 star. The service is terrible. I go through the drive through on my way home at 7am. The only car, and only 1 table in the resturant. It takes me 15 minutes to get my food. Why does it take so long for a $ 15 order?

First and foremost, this S&S has TERRIBLE management. The staff is poorly trained and there is no presence of any management in the front of the house. I have been here several times in hopes that they will improve. I have been sadly disappointed every time. It generally takes at least ten minutes just to get a drink order. I waited 2 hours for food one night when there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. Every time I get a milkshake it comes out half melted. The only plus is that they do have affordable prices which is nice in a college town. However, there is no excuse for the shoddy management and wait staff. Definitely a no go.

Never have I seen a Steak & Shake operate so slowly and have such poor service. Even basic service like a drink order was wrong — asked for a water and was served a Coke… hrmm. It took almost 30min for a milkshake. Obviously this place has a lot of problems and the reviews speak for themselves. Keep driving place this place!

Too bad I can’t give zero stars because that’s what I would do. Every time I go there with my friend we have to wait forever and they also manage to get one of our orders wrong. One time we sat at the bar for 30 min just to get our drink order. For some reason people keep going back. So don’t go there unless you have a couple hours to spend for average food

This restaurant has been open a short time, but has been packed from day one, so it obviously fills a niche. It is bright and clean, the servers are pleasant and knowledgeable, but the food is for kids. I have eaten there twice. The first time was around 10:00 PM and the second time was about 2:00 in the afternoon. The burgers are thin, fried crisp on a grill… I can do so much better at home. The fries were limp with an odd taste both times. The only menu items I really like are the shakes – excellent! When they start serving breakfast, I might give it another try, but otherwise I will leave this place for the kids.

Its a typical Steak n’ Shake. I feel like its dining room is smaller than its sister restaurants, but the service and food have been on point. My biggest complaint is that its not open ²⁴⁄₇ like every other restaurant in its franchise I’ve encountered (this is honestly the only one I’ve ever seen that closes. My brother even worked at one. Its a big chain. They are always open. Very frustrating that this one isn’t) This spring it had a big sign out front with a May 24^th date for going ²⁴⁄₇. May 24^th came and went and the restaurant still closes. As a night-​owl, its quite a disappointment that one big addition to late night dining has been quietly stolen from us. I want an explanation. This disappointment has made me stop going all together until they decide to open their doors for good.
