Let me start off by saying I’m not a girly girl and I don’t keep up with my hair as often as I should. I find it ridiculous to pay $ 100+ for a cut and color. Randomly while down in Carson City (I live in South Lake Tahoe) I decided to pop into this salon just to take a peek. Nicole, the manager, was super friendly and greeted me at the door. I explained I hadn’t cut my hair in 2 years and she didn’t make me feel like crap for it lol. I decided to get a trim since I like my long hair and dye it a dark brown since my ends were turning orange because of the sun. Nicole did a phenomenal job! I told her I wanted a tiny trim and she actually listened. She didn’t cut off 4 inches which is what usually happens when I ask for a trim. My hair looks fantastic and feels healthy again. And to top it off, it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. I can’t wait to go see her again. The other ladies in the salon were super friendly as well. If you’re looking for an affordable cut and color and great service, this is the place to go!

OMG!!! I found an amazing Colorist and Stylist, Yvonne, at «Smart Style» in the Walmart Mall. A totally unexpected and happy find.
I just moved here from the San Francisco Bay Area, am a professional actor and model, and have been going to a very high end, and well known stylist there for years. However, I was in BEYOND dire need of a color and cut NOW, and walked into «Smart Style», spoke to Janie (another great stylist) about what I could do ASAP v (I had a box of L’Oreal or whatever hair color in my hand; which was the reason I was in Walmart in the first place, an acute sign of desperation, and has always ended up being a horrific mistake the 3 times I’ve used it.).Janie referred me to, and booked me an appointment with Yvonne the next day.
Yvonne did a beautiful, and amazing job on my hair. Best Color, Cut, and Styling I’ve had in years! She really listened to what I wanted, and made suggestions as to what would be best for my type of hair (fine), and facial structure, and coloring (ok– and the freaking gray hair that came from I don’t know where!).I’ve been so happy with the results, and had tons of compliments on my hair. Plus, I’m used to paying 3 times what Yvonne charged, and left with better results. Which means no more costly trips to San Francisco every 6 weeks to look great!
The salon itself is a very no frills place, which is fine by me. Plus I didn’t have to spend hours there, like I had to do in my S.F. Salon for the «experience». I have NO patience for that stuff, and the insane costs, anymore.
