Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite place to shop. They have amazing options for all special diets. They employees are always very friendly and helpful. They also sell beautiful flower arrangements too. We always have to find there hidden stuffed animal when we go in, You get a prize when you do find it. It’s fun for the little ones and keeps them entertained in the cart while you get to shop.

Awesome place! Love their milk, it taste better that any other milk i tried. Very wide variety of better quality foods. Great bread, especially the european one and frozen naan, best best tastiest bread ever! It is a must place to stop and discover something that worth your money!

Everything here is great, the service, the selection, the location. The only thing keeping me from five stars is the mangoes I have purchased on three occasions have all been brown inside! Same thing happened with organic apples, but they were still tasty!

The Carson City Trader Joe’s is still my most fave Trader Joe’s I’ve ever been to. Easy parking, no big crowds, even at the worst times, wide aisles so no cart jams, free coffee in back, good selection of breads from the local Truckee Bakery and tons of frozen desserts. The tasting booth in back by the coffee sometimes has inventive recipes made with Trader Joe’s products. The return policy here is fantastic, almost anything, if you don’t like it, just bring it back for a full refund! Comparing this store to other locations, this is the best I’ve been to. I’m glad there’s one in Carson City and I don’t have to go all the way to Reno when I’m in Carson for Trader Joe’s.

Favorite place to go for an extensive and inexpensive wine selection. Also, a great spot for unique and tasty cheeses, crackers, and other unique food items.

I go toTJ s at least once a week. They have a good wine selection, their Chanti is good for six bucks a bottle. I enjoy their frozen imprinted items, pizza dough, risotto, and flatbread. The staff is polite and friendly. If there is a problem with any of their products they stand behind them and make it right.

This is a great trader joes but I’ve had a tough time with the staff. They just always seem to be preoccupied when I try to get assistance which is frustrating.

We’ve been frequenting this store weekly for the past 7 years. Fantastic artisan breads, awesome cheese selection. Great organic section. Their fearless flyer is extremely useful and inspiring. Overall great prices on everything. Super friendly employees, very helpful to locate an item in the store. I also enjoy their frozen section of vegetables and ready to serve frozen dishes. Looking forward to buy their Thanksgiving fare that will save me lots of time spend in the kitchen and money!

Very convenient location near Costco! Looks almost identical to other Trader Joe’s stores, however, this store is very clean!

Friendly employees, good prices, and an all around fun place to shop. I bebop down the aisles to the groovy music choices that they play. Don’t forget the samples in the back and coffee!

I like this store more than the Reno version and simply because it seems to have a bit wider isles and I do not feel claustrophobic. The rest of the store is as all of them, good product and friendly employees.

I LOVE Trader Joe’s. One day when when fairies populate the tropical forests of Hawaii will there possibly be one on Oahu. But until then, I’m just going to absolutely enjoy every trip I can make to this lovely favorite grocery spot of mine. In fact, skip Whole Foods unless you’re some wealthy snoot and shop here, the prices are just perfect!
Trader Joe’s doesn’t have the best produce (I no longer buy apples here because I can’t count on them not being soft already) but I buy just about everything else here: soy milk, cheese, pre-​packed veggies, bread, soup… Okay, you get it. I love their prices and I love that their employees are so helpful and ridiculously cheery. So if you’re in search of a grocery store, avoid Walmart (since it never has anything in stock anyway) and come here!!!

I’m here at least once a week. I love this TJ’s. It’s clean, usually fully stocked, and has a great alcohol selection.

Always a great place.
They have a broad selection of reasonably priced cheese, and that, by itself, is enough to get me in the door.
After that, their wine selection is pretty good. I’m not talking about the ‘two buck chuck’ either. It’s here, and they seem to sell an awful lot of it, but there is so much more.
I just wish one was closer to my house.

Love love love this particular Trader Joe’s. It’s never as crowded as the Reno store (earthy crunchy people can get vicious when the last container of organic red pepper hummus on sale isn’t in their hands). I can usually zip in and out in 15 minutes.
Let me just say that the best thing about TJ’s are their AMAZING reusable shopping bags! They have one style that I absolutely love that is shaped unlike any other shopping bag I’ve ever seen. I have bought 4 of them so far, given 2 away as gifts, and have constant reminders from family and friends that next time I go, I need to buy more of them. So they can snatch them away from me when I walk in the door.

Eeeh — so so. I’m just not a big fan of Trader Joe’s overall. They are just so overrated. So while my rating is based on the customer service experience at this particular store, I have to be honest and admit that it’s more than likely, at least slightly, influenced by own impressions of Trader Joe’s corporate decisions. If you’re bored, go look up the facebook page «Trader Joe’s is overrated». In the meantime, below is my «natural» review.
This store in particular really rubs me the wrong way when it comes to customer service. Every time I have been here, the cashier is so busy yak yak yakking with the current person that it has taken (what seems like) forever to check out. When the line is growing long and the people in line are shifting back and forth impatiently, get a clue. Chit chat with that person after work, on your own time. Don’t hold up the line. Also, I have never been asked if I need help finding anything and I have had to hunt down an employee, on numerous occasions, to ask where a particular item is.
As far as healthy food choices. sure they have some. However, if you are a label reader, you might not be so impressed at the end of the day. The «Trader Joe» brand labeling is more translucent than transparent and can be very vague (depending on the items). Remember, «Natural» is an unregulated term that can be applied by anyone.
If you like snack food, prepackaged (even most of the fresh produce are wrapped in saran), pre-​flavored, pre-​seasoned and single serving food choices, this is the place to find them.
A note on Trader Joe’s seafood. «Trader Joe’s does not yet sufficiently label seafood products so that consumers can avoid purchasing destructively fished species». In fact, Trader Joe’s is still selling approximately 50% of red list seafood. I guess that’s some improvement from where they were in 2010 when they received «the worst ranking of any national chain food store». Well, they better get a move on it they are going to fulfill their vow to «offer only sustainable seafood in their stores by December 31, 2012».
Yes, I will still go and buy their items that are specifically labeled organic or have clear labeling, because I refuse to drive to Reno to shop for food. I can hardly wait for the day to come when Carson City gets something similar to Great Basin Foods. Hmmm. now there’s an idea. :)

How can anyone not love this place? We stopped and got all kinds of goodies for our vacation condo. We loved the 2 buck chuck, (now 3 buck chuck) the creamy hummus, the great tortilla’s, the fruit juices, chocolate covered espresso beans, peanut butter cups, all the cheeses and crackers, and the list goes on.
We did not however enjoy the rack of lamb or the grilled veggies. They just weren’t right.

I do my day to day grocery shopping at Raley’s but occasionally I will travel across the County Line to see Trader Joe. While I couldn’t shop here consistently, they do have a variety of interesting items and their prices are pretty good. Great place to put together a little basket of goodies for Christmas gifts– including the basket.
I will say that the employees are– as noted by other reviewers– genuinely friendly. We’re not talking about frothing, hump-​your-​leg friendly, and we’re not talking about «Our company policy is to greet you when you walk in so, ‘Hello and welcome to our store’» friendly. I’m talking about down home, country friendly. It’s worth remarking about.

Ok. I don’t think Trader Joe’s needs an intro. By now we all pretty much know what to expect from this establishment. This store is typical TJ’s.
We shop here every week for the special items we always get here. I love their organic plain yogurt, some of their produce (especially their apples), and yes, their snacks and appetizers. The wine aisle is a ‘must visit’ every trip too.
The folks who work here are extremely friendly (a prerequisite for the job, I’d guess) and knowledgeable. We’ve got our favorites and seek them out on every visit.
The good thing about TJ’s is that no matter where we find one of their stores, they can be counted on for a good selection of all the stuff WE go there for. Yup, we LIKE ‘em…

Located right off of hwy 395 this TJ’s is conveniently located. The store is large, clean and is only a few several years old.
I needed some munchies and wine and the selection here for cheeses and wine were good. I even found a red wine from Italy here that a client of my highly recommended from Las Vegas which they don’t offer in California — scored!
You can tell this is a popular store because it was busy for a Saturday evening. The employees I encountered here were friendly, helpful and check out was really speedy.
