Today I went to this Mexican restaurant that I’ve never been to. But when I saw the picture on their menu I just realized this is same with the other la salsa in town only they’ve some different menu items. The ambience was nice and quiet. The server was very friendly and nice. I ordered the carnitas with double rice and my friend ordered the tacos & horchata for the drink. I tried the drink and it wasn’t bad but I am not a fan of cinnamon so I passed this. If they’ve cha mango I’ll take it please. I ordered pollo a la Parrilla with pinto beans to go too for my husband. My carnitas was yummy! The meat wasn’t dry at all. It was nice and tender and rich flavor. And the server gave us their homemade chile and it was pretty good with little bit kick. My friend’s tacos were yummy too as she told me. The meat was cooked perfect. She loved the drink. I love their food as I love the food from the other la salsa so yeah I’ll be coming to this place more than once! But too bad, my friend wanted to try the pollo with chipotle sauce but they don’t have it here on their special menu.

I love this place, I get their carne asada tacos all the time. I can see why people would thing they’re «charred» but I love the way they are cooked and the salsa they put on them is yummy. I’ve never had an issue with their rice or beans. I always thought the rice tasted really authentic. They’re red salsa is alright but I really like the orangeish one. A little smoky with nice heat. And the staff has been nothing but friendly in my experience.

My tastes are simple yet I am picky. The tacos asada, rice, beans & salsa are my favorite meal here. Each visit has been consistent through the years.

Awesome awesome awesome. One of my favorites around town, and always great service. Totally packed on a Friday night(and I see why) but they still got my pick up order done in 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants. The staff is always nice and attentive. I usually order their tacos, but everything I’ve had is good.

Meh. I had a really hard time finding this place. It wasn’t worth the effort. If, as another review claims, this is the best Mexican food in Carson City, I’d hate to find out what the worst is like. I had the Chile Relleno and it was, to be charitable, mediocre at best. The place was fairly busy so apparently my take on the food is in the minority. To each their own but I definitely won’t be back.

Great lunches and dinners. We’ve been coming here for years and find this taqueria to be more authentic than anything in Carson City. Try their tacos lingua if you want a real treat.

Food is very good. Had myself a carne asada burrito and my wife tried the tacos(Asada, pollo, and carnitas). I also had a delicious margarita on the rocks. Top notch. When I looked this place up I thought it was going to be a «taquería» like the ones in LA/southern california. Instead it’s a fusion of taquería and a Mexican food restaurant. The décor is right on… They have beer!

Cute little family owned Taqueria in strip mall you would miss if not looking for it. Great food nicely presented and great service. We will definitely make this a regular stop when heading out Hwy 50.

This was the worst Mexican food ever. Tortillas are packaged. Everything tasted like it came out of a can. The rice was so bad I couldn’t eat it. The food was watery. Salsa tasted like pace sauce with stale chips. Waiter didn’t even offer to refill our drinks. I do not recommend this place. Gold Dust West across the street has a nice Mexican restaurant that we will go to next time

Yay! We finally found great Mexican food close to South Lake Tahoe! We have one or two that are pretty good, but they either are take out places or they are not consistently good. A friend told me about La Salsa and since we were headed to Carson City the next day, we decided to check it out. Apparently, there are at least two locations-we will go to the Topsy Lane location next time. This restaurant looks like your typical Mexican place with colorful décor inside. It l My measure of new place is to try the tamales. To my disappointment, they were out that day, so I had one of the several specials, suggested by the waiter, Chicken Empanadas. I had never had these before and was pleasantly surprised. It’s like a fried chicken taco, with all the fillings inside and a drizzle of sauce and cheese outside. It sounds heavy, being fried, but it was very light and crispy with good chicken flavor. It came with the usual rice and refried pinto beans, which were a little salty(the beans) for my taste, but good. The rice was really bland so I spiced it up with some salsa. They offer homemade chips and salsa which were both very good. However, don’t ask for a refill on the chips or be ready to pay $ 1.99…really? As it turned out, the chips were thick and filling so we really didn’t want more. I also had a margarita on the rocks and it was very good. I meant to ask if they make their own sweet and sour mix, but forgot. It was not too sour, as many are – I liked it. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive, but not exactly friendly.

This place has been a favorite of our family for over 12 years. Food really brings out authenticity, the only thing missing is live chickens walking around the restaurant.

This Taqueria will always be our favorite in Carson City. We always order the grilled chicken and garlic shrimp. The tacos el pastor are always very tasty as well. If you want to beat the lunch rush, head in around 1−3pm.

One of the worst Mexican meals I’ve ever had. The beans were watery, the carne asada was charred and even the rice didn’t taste right. How do you screw up rice? Avoid this restaurant.

For Carson City, the food is pretty good. They have a wide variety of sea food on their menu, and many other authentic Mexican meals. For example, the have tongue and brain. This is never found at Americanized Mexican Resturaunts. My husband was very happy with the 7 Mares he ordered; 7 different types of seafood in a soup. It was a bit pricey($ 14), but for the amount of seafood in the soup, it was well worth it. I ordered an asada burrito, which ended up being HUGE! It was $ 6.50, but I added sour crea, and cheese($ 1.50 more). So, for $ 8, I had a meal that could literally feed two people. They have a wide variety of beers, soda’s and Margaritas. I had already started on beer earlier in the night, so I didnt switch to a margarita. However, I was very impressed with the Margarita prices($ 4)…You can’t beat that price during happy hour at a bar. The salsa was great, and the service was good too. We were with a family with 3 children, and they were very patient and accomodating.
