I give four stars, because I always get EXACTLY what I expect for my money from this low priced casino coffee shop. I’ve heard people in town say, «the days of the good casino prime rib special are over»… Not true! 8:30pm Mon 1÷04÷16… I had the prime rib special for $ 9.99: Salad = fresh, simple, perfect portion, plenty of dressing on the side Entrée = I ordered the meat medium rare, it actually came medium rare(there are«steakhouses» that can’t seem to get get that part right), and it was NOT mostly gristle and fat; the French fries were hot and crispy; the veggies weren’t cooked to death; served with plenty of au jus and horseradish on the side Service = quick, friendly, unobtrusive Atmosphere = clean, spacious, quiet What more could I want for $ 10 at a coffee shop? No frills, no BS… I left full and happy… sure, the Nugget used to sell the exact same thing for $ 4.95… in 1996; 20 years ago!

Only reason they got two stars was because the food wasn’t bad. The service was atrocious though! We were greeting by our waitress saying«you ready?» No name, no drink order, nothing. During our meal we were never checked on or even offered a refill. I was throughly disappointed in lack of service here. Desserts looked good but couldn’t tell how good they tasted as we weren’t offered the chance to order them. If you’re looking for good food and friendly staff try Fandgo buffet or the Burger King up the street the service is way better.

This place was pretty good. Got the french dip and it rivaled the Rutherford Grill in Napa, minus the $ 21 price tag in the 707 area code. Wifey got the fish and chips and after the first bite exclaimed ‘this is good!’. We finished with a large piece of carrot cake that was Humongous, we shared it. Two entrée’s, two sodas, a coffee and a Giant slice of carrot cake, $ 29. Not bad

My family and I ate here three days while staying at the Gold Dust West hotel. First night, prime rib. Excellent, prepared exactly as three of us ordered, and the vegetables were done to perfection. The waitress was concerned that she brought the prime rib plate out«too soon» after our dinner salads. Great, prompt service! It was Thursday night, so not too many patrons in the restaurant. Next two days for breakfast, Sandy waited on us, again with exceptional service and fun, caring attitude. Very attentive. The next day she remembered our preferences from the day prior! She made us feel welcomed and comfortable as we were going through a family emergency in town. The Grille prepares a very good country scramble. Also the plate of pancakes with bacon was good. All of our meals were yummy, including the fried shrimp. Nothing was too greasy or fatty. Impressive food served hot, along with prompt, attentive service. The desserts are divine! Stopped for lunch this weekend as we have eaten here for prime rib in the past and liked the meal. This meal, not so much. I love a good rueben and when I saw they had the“Rachael” that sounded like a rueben I went for it. But boy was I disappointed. First of all the sandwich came out and the meat was black! I have never seen black pastrami. I tasted it and it was salty, but I was hungry and decided to give it a try. I even had my husband taste it and he thought it had been cooked in a whole bottle of worchestshire sauce. I just could not get over the color. Anyway, ended up throwing out most of it, since I was afraid to even give it to our dog. We are hoping this is a one time occurrence since we enjoy the casino.

This was a surprisingly decent place for essentially being a casino café. They have a lengthy list of menu items. The wings were nice and meaty and crispy. The prime rib was good. And their breakfast items are big and yum. Service is very friendly(Christina was awesome!) and attentive. All in all, we had a good experience. And we ate here several times during our stay.

The wife and went to CV steak house last night. We shared the appetizer combo plate which was fantastic my wife had swordfish and I the beef stroganoff. The sword fish was perfect and well complimented with the tomato tarragon relish. Delicious for fish in the desert. The stroganoff was nothing special, flavorful with egg noddles. My biggest compliment is to the crème brûlée! Some of the best I’ve ever had(and I have it fairly often when available) the atmosphere was quaint but not luxurious. I was comfortable in jeans and a polo shirt. Good food for the dollar for a steak house. The house dressing on the salad should be bottled and sold. We will be coming back!

The food was pretty good. The service was so horrible that I will never eat here again. As soon as we got our food she never came back. Our drinks never got refilled. And after we got done eating we sat there for a good while waiting for the check. She must of passed by a dozen times taking care of her other tables but didn’t even stop at ours. We did not leave her a tip when we got up to pay.

Again, great staff. Good food. Best value in Carson. For breakfast the best for the money.

We play the senior tournament every Wednesday, earn points and you get a coupon for the grille. A free senior meal or 50% off the menu! except specials. Now someone has decided that desserts are now a special, stupid idea! Not everyone likes to eat the same senior meal every week!

Very Good waitress service. Very ordinary unremarkable food. If you order your burger med it comes out rare, so ask for«med well to get medium» per the manager.. Manager was condescending when I mentioned and showed her the bright red meat. Won’t go back.

As with the Grille over in Reno, this is my kinda place. It’s good basic American diner fare at reasonable prices. No wheelie chairs at this one, but the upstairs booths are a nice place to sit and eat and I dig the old-timey lanterns over each table. If you’re ordering veggies, rice or non-fried fish here you’re doing it wrong. This is all about breakfast and burgers, maybe steak for dinner. I’ve run through about the whole breakfast menu at the Reno Grille already so on this trip I opted to finally try a burger. The Mushroom Swiss was a nice ½ pounder with a toasted bun and mushrooms that I’m pretty sure weren’t from a can. Fries lackluster freezer bag stuff but passable — maybe spring for mashed taters or something instead? Onion rings can be had for $ 1 extra too. Breakfast around $ 5-$ 7, burgers w/fries $ 7-$ 9(how did this get a $$$ rating?). Not sure if they have the overnighter $ 2 «Complete Breakfast» like the Reno location does — didn’t see any signage for it. They do have the to-go dessert case on the way out though. Very friendly and considerate service too!

This review is for their breakfast. Staying at the motel, I get a free one. The food is standard fare which means nothing worth driving for, but good if you’re here and hungry. The breakfast is certainly better than the free breakfasts at a Hampton Inn or those continental ones of packaged muffins at many motels. All the servers are very nice and efficient, a friendly wait-staff to make you feel welcome in the morning.

My wife and I both had the prime rib special. It was just OK. The rice was very bland with many grains uncooked. I suspect it was microwaved. The veggies were tasteless. The waiter was not unfriendly but he did not have good people skills. The rolls were definitely made some other place. They were cold to the touch and were at least a day old.

After reading the current reviews I must write about our dinner last night. Went to The Grille for dinner. The place is remodeled and cozy. Both our waitress and even the bus person gave us VERYGOOD and friendly service. 1.) My wife and I shared the shrimp special. $ 7.77, a great deal… 13 shrimp fried perfectly, good fries but a not so good bowl of cole slaw. Overall great for the price. 2.) My older son had the tri-tip beef special. I tried it. The beef was very tender, Good meal for $ 6.99 3.) Our younger son had the western-style bacon cheeseburger. Beyond my expectations! Half pound patty, bacon, a big onion ring, good sauce. (this is a good size burger) I tried it and I seriously can’t wait to go back and order this. A VERYGOOD Buger. Clearly the cooks or chef on duty(a Monday night) deserve kudos. If it were not for the fact that the cole slaw tasted old, I would call it a perfect dinner for a coffee shop. We will make this one of OUR places to eat at.

Stopped in on our Carson City Cheeseburger Tour the other day. It was a little after 1 o’clock in the afternoon, not very busy. Seated immediately, friendly and hustling service. My bacon cheeseburger was fairly decent, pretty good actually. A ton of good bacon on that bad boy. Onion rings weren’t half-bad either. Much better than my last breakfast experience.
