Denny’s

Just got finished having lunch at this Denny’s with my co worker and all i can say is ehh. I ordered the $ 4 biscuits and gravy breakfast and a side of soup. I really enjoyed the loaded potato soup but i REALLY did not enjoy the biscuits and gravy. the gravy tasted really bland. My co worker on the other hand got the tailapia plate and she says it was really good.

I wish I could give zero stars. So I just left this place. I arrived at 10:35 am and got seated to the right side of the restaurant and the waitress that’s over that section, mentioned she’d be with us in a few… Well she never came. She was having a full blown conversation with a woman. It’s now 11:06am. We’re walking out now as I type. She is standing by the door just taking away and didn’t notice we were leaving. We’re heading to Carson IHOP off Avalon there service is always phenomenal!

Stopped by here for brunch before heading over to Stubhub Center.
We were sat down quick and in no time we were talking to our server for what we wanted to eat.
It is Dennys, not fancy, just food done right for less.
Had the value slam with a side of hash brown and coffee. All tasted fine and got my belly full.
The place was busy but not as full as other Denny’s I have been to. Plenty of parking as well.
Place can get a bit loud but you could still enjoy a decent meal.

Terrible service at 10:00 p.m.!! A party of six with a 5 minute wait turned into a 30 minute wait. Finally got a table and waited another 10 minutes… nobody came to take our order. We finally got tired of waiting so we left.

I have been coming to this location since I was a teenager, which is over 20 some odd years or more. Now in the last 3 years of moving back to Carson, I have experiences all kinds of stories of certain waiters and waitresses. I have gotten use to very less than stellar type of service which I have come to expect from a certain waiter and waitress which I believe have been in the service industry too damn long and should quit and do something else with their lives.
You got the waiter at one point would not charge you for certain items because he wanted an extra tip. «You know I didn’t charge you for dressing on your salad” (thinking to myself a salad automatically comes with dressing). I am making this one up but it was usually silly things the waiter was not charging for and you would have ended up paying the waiter more in tip than the cost of the whatever you weren’t charged for. And the follow-​up/​check back with this waiter is extra poor. Be sure to ask for everything up front but then again this waiter writes down NOTHING so the waiter is bound to miss something if too many details.
Then you have the waitress that has been working probably at this Denny’s since it first opened. I have seen this waitress usually on the morning shift working the breakfast bar area and booths over in that area. This waitress appears never to be happy and has a personality not conducive to the type of work being done (service industry which give tips). So my thoughts are why are you mad and its morning time. Now, I do not know if this waitress works the graveyard shift or what and by the time the morning rolls around I say 8−10am the not so pleasant attitude kicks in because of working a full shift already. You have to be able to separate out your feelings if at all possible. Now, I have seen that there are regulars who enjoy the waitresses sassy tude (attitude). Also, this waitress writes nothing done the few times we have been waited on and usually gets the order wrong or leaves something out and gets a little feisty tude when asked to bring what is forgotten or when something is wrong. You become afraid to ask for something that was missed or wrong because of the terrible vibes given off by this waitress. The last time this waitresses waited on us, there was a pad/​pen in hand which was VERY surprising.
The many other waiter/​waitresses that work at this location are great. Never had any issues with them, just the two characters above. I have turned the experiences into jokes and stories to tell.
I never had any issues with the food, it has been to same (pretty good) to me in all the locations I have been to in several states
Proceed with caution to this location as this place is a gamble when it comes to service, you may come out losing.

Food was ok coulda been better if the place didn’t stink so much it’s smelled like wet damped clothes in there this location has a very nasty smell the whole location so I know I wasn’t tripping the floors u can smell the nasty the waitress that’s the only good part about it she did her job just feel bad for them they gotta work in that stinky environment.

How can I define horrible? Let me count the ways. I don’t understand how an establishment that isn’t busy be so slow in service. For some reason the servers seemed quite hasty in their overall approach of customer service. We basically were told by the hostess to «Go sit at the table over there.» She didn’t even point towards the table. Then as we sat, I ended up having to go get our menus. Next we were offered drinks, but the waitress seemed irritated that she had to offer anything to us. Finally we ordered our food and waited for 10 minutes to eat. We never saw our server again.
I realize that Dennys isn’t an upper echelon restaurant but I’ve been to locations that attempt to treat their customers with more care. We came here to grab a light breakfast only because we were getting a car washed. Not sure who is in charge of training and development at this place but there’s a definite need for an assessment.
Customer service is imperative regardless of the place. When you’re in business and you have employees representing your brand, you should ensure that they do so effectively. As for the actual food, well it’s still consistent to the brand. You get what you pay for as far as the food is concerned.

We came to this location for the first time on a super crowded after-​church Sunday for brunch. Super impressed with the service and how fast everything was especially given that there was a lot of customers! Definitely coming back.
*order a strawberry lemonade! :) so good!

Time 12:34am. Writing this review as I’m sitting at the table waiting for my waitress to take everyone who just sat down’s order (after she’s taken ours 1^st) but has not turned in our order… now she’s going to fill the drink orders first, still before the food orders…:sigh: guess I’ll wait… update you on the rest in a bit. (So far I’m not happy about it)
Our food was brought out in a timely manner however, no one came to check back on us. Also when the waitress brought out the hot chocolate it had whipped cream (Which we asked for) but chocolate on top of that. So my aunt asks, does it always come with chocolate at top because I never get any. The waitress actually responded with a blatant lie and said YES! So the other waitress came and clarified that they do not put chocolate on top, and she took it back and gave her a new one.
There was a whole lot more that was wrong with this visit but at this point, it’s worthless to even go on. The woman who was running the food and drinks was SO UNPROFESSIONAL it was unbelievable. I will NOT be returning during the night shift anymore. I’ve come here plenty of times before and it has been fantastic. This time, not so much. Maybe next time Dennys!

It’s a Denny’s. You know what to expect when you walk in one, foodwise. Now that they have nutritional facts, you can’t really complain either.
Servicewise, our waitress was super nice and a sweetheart. She tried really hard to connect with us, and I’ll give her that much for it. I don’t remember her name, but she had a red hair pixie cut, glasses, and was a smidgeon stout.
Honestly, despite their customer base and the knowingly heavy food selection, I’d come back just cause of the service.

I went here one evening for a dinner. I didn’t expect much but it’s a Denny’s can’t be too bad right?
Well the food was average, pretty much what I expected but the service… It was impossible to get a waiter’s attention here. I mean the worst service I’ve ever had. Almost 20 mins to order! It took so long to get a waitress attention that I just got up and paid at the register. The weird thing is it was not even that full and I table wasn’t the only one. At the register I guess the lady was new but needed help with the register then tried to not give me the recipe when I asked for it.

I never liked Denny’s food but come here on super rare late night occasions. Service is always slow. You are lucky to get a greeting at any time while you’re there. The bathroom is always nasty and the old restaurant itself, is in need of complete remodeling! There is a bar attached to this location as well. It used to be a club under several different names and the neighborhood ‘homies’ hangout throughout the years. Lol! If you want cheap late night food, come here. Don’t expect anything special.

Very disrespectful service …
Before we even got seated, the black lady up front had an attitude,
the place was empty and it still took them like 15 mins to get our order taken, as the big black guy took our order, WITHOUT even writing it down, just «memorizing it in his head «he snatched the menus away from us before we even finished ordering. Bad service
Btw there was a Fkn hair in my omelette …

Just horrible customer service. Waited 15 min to just be asked what I wanted to drink. Then she tried to rush me by speed talking to take my order. We came here for a quick breakfast fix. I don’t expect much it’s Denny’s. Go at your own risk.

ITS DENNY’S AKA LENNY’S. …OK the service is fast… but the waiter couldn’t realy remember everything. The food looks the same as 20 years ago… this is just simply a place to eat LATE LATE LATE at night after plenty of drinks. NOTHING had color NOT the pancakes, or hashbrowns. The sausage look sick… i was on a simple date and had no appetite when i was there.

This is another disappointing Carson restaurant, becoming so typical. The place is dirty, service is atrocious, wait time is infinite, and you can get better breakfast at the hamburger stand, real talk. Two stars because their super bird sandwich is the only thing they do get right here.

Being from out of town, I was surprised to find this Denny’s has a «lounge «with a bar and entertainment. Service was decent for a late Friday night, food was good, and the restrooms were clean. I never thought I would ever give Denny’s four stars, but this one deserved it.

A friend and I found out about this bar while eating at the Carson Chili’s down the street. The server told us she had never visited, but she heard a lot of people visit this place for drinks after the local restaurants close.
I never knew any Denny’s had bars until this conversation. Curiosity made us check it out…
It felt weird even walking up to it. But I can hang with all walks of life in all kinds of places so I had to at least see what was inside. It seemed like time stopped as we walked in. All eyes seemed to be on us as we looked for a table — the bar was full. The one cool thing was that it was an ethnically mixed crowd — something I prefer. But it seemed like all regulars and «da homies» were NOT feelin’ the new kids. Still tried to make it work. We finally found an empty booth in the corner. It had odd lighting and it looked sticky, but I figured if my friend wanted to stay I would — maybe I was trippin’. Before we sat down, we looked at each other. He asked if I wanted to stay. I shook my head no. He grabbed my hand and we left, eyes seemingly still on us.
Weird vibe. I will not return.

We had our breakfast there.
Usually I like Denny’s for breakfast, because of the variety of food at reasonable prices.
They have fruit as well as eggs, bacon and hash browns, pancakes …
This was though the worst experience with Denny’s we had on our 4 weeks trip through SoCal.
It started with the order procedure. Our female server appeared to be very bored, looked out of the window when we ordered. My impression was that she didn’t like us because of our orders of the Grand Slam breakfast for four persons. In this, you order every item individually and she had to write everything down.
Sorry, but that’s her job!
When we paid she was at the cashier herself (what I think is a no-​go behavior). There were two other persons that usually ran that position. But she told them that she would do it and then she charged me the DOUBLE amount of the bill to my credit card!!! The tip she charged herself was more than 43 $!!!
I saw it fortunately and she voided that amount.
Thereafter she entered the correct amount and everything was OK.
But all in all she had a very arrogant attitude.
The kitchen did a good job, the food tasted great.

My 2^nd time at a Denny’s ever, I’m just not a fan of this franchise but anywho …
This place was weird, I had no idea Denny’s had a bar area (which is where we were seated at) ugh & next to a family with a bunch of ugly annoying loud kids gross!
Our server was nice but I don’t think he spoke English, he kept responding in Spanish but he was nice.
Our food took a bit long than expected to get here. The food was not great, it was bland & tasteless kinda gross me out it looked like a plate of leftovers (i ordered the club sandwich).
The place itself did not look clean at least the the bar area.
