Best restaurant in Bartow County hands down. Delicious salads made even better with their house dressing, a wonderful hot bacon/honey mustard concoction. All of the entrees are great. They generally have a special of the day, a fish special and a roast special. The pork roast is especially good. Their daily soups are phenomenal, especially their creamy soups like the portabello mushroom. I am happy to make a meal out of a mountain salad and a soup alone.

If you’re looking for fine dining(seafood and steal especially) in the Cartersville area, this is the place to go. Great service, cozy atmosphere, and fantastic food. I had the bourbon glazed salmon with rice pilaf and braised collards. Everything was cooked perfect and tasted delicious. Most places over cook salmon but not here. It was juicy, delicious, moist, and perfect for the pallet. The collards were not soupy. They were pan braised in bacon fat. No vinegar or hot sauce needed, but they provide it on the side anyway. Service was prompt and professional. BTW, if you’re wondering why it’s hard to find on your GPS, it’s under the bridge where your GPS will take you to. Just hook a left on the other side of the bridge, hook two more lefts, and then a right at the end of the strip mall to get to the road under the bridge. It’s worth it!

Great for couples, but this restaurant does NOT encourage bringing your children. We used to visit quite often before having children, but we’ve taken the hint since our last dinner there with our two older children(6&8). We were ignored and sat in a back room, our drinks remained unfilled the entire time we were there. The waiter was rude and made a snide comment about splitting a meal for the kids. but guess what, there is no kids menu! POINTTAKEN — we will not be back.

This is my favorite restaurant. We go here for our special occasions for quite a few years now. Consistently a good place for a date night. I always get the pecan crusted chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and bing cherries. What a great combo. Wife usually gets steak and is pleased. The last time we visited I tasted the red snapper that one of our family members had and guess what, I never knew that I’d like snapper but I did. Chicken, steak, fish, salads and desserts — there’s something here for everyone. Well, adults anyway. It’s a little dimly lit and slower moving than little ones may enjoy unless they’re good eaters with patience. The salads are generous and hardy. Ask what’s in ‘em because there’s so many things you’re likely to find things you don’t like if you’re picky but I like it just as they serve it. For dessert we usually get crème brûlée. The have a bar next door while you wait for your seat and you can get alcohol with your dinner. Right in the heart of downtown Cartersville it always makes for a pleasant evening walk after dinner. The chef comes out and visits the patrons but isn’t bothersome. The servers are professionals. Never have I come across an inexperienced or less than courteous server. One year I bought multiple crème brûlée’s here to go for my wife’s birthday instead of making her a birthday cake. I called ahead and they had them packaged up ready to go, waiting for me when I arrived. I’m not a fan of super exotic restaurants so this is a 5 on my scale — as a suburban father with college age kids and local business owner.

Excellent food! Love the ambiance… and the small bar is nice. Staff is friendly and food service is quite good. Have to add that you have to arrive early for dinner if you don’t want a long wait. Try it for lunch.

Love this place! Everything is great. The service is good and I can honestly say I’ve never tried anything that I didn’t like. The potato soup is a favorite!

A wonderful meal. Both out entrees were perfect. Grilled crab cakes should be a must. Garlic cabbage was unique and awesome. A hidden treasure

This restaurant is a little confused as to what it wants to be. Some offerings are typically southern, like fried pickles and hush puppies, while dinner items include chicken francease. Even the music choices are confusing. One song may be Etta James, then the next is mountain bluegrass. The food is mediocre and somewhat greasy. The prices are somewhat high. The best part of this restaurant is the atmosphere/décor.

This is always a favorite restaurant of mine when I visit Cartersville. It was great from the time we entered. The place was packed so we chose to sit at the bar and have a few drinks. The Bloody Mary’s are to die for. The bartender said they make their own mix and it was excellent. So good that I had two. I ordered the Appalachian Grill which had scallops, grilled shrimp, and two different kinds of sausages. Oh my gosh! And, it also had roasted potatoes which were divine. We had the Mushroom Appetizer and it was also very tasty. I wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sunday. :(I give this restaurant a 10. EXCELLENT!

This is a VERY cute looking restaurant — like Disney Wilderness Lodge cute; traditional Appalachian music was on the radio(brother where art thou type stuff) and they specialize in a gourmet twist on traditional Appalachian food. I had the pecan chicken: pecan sage crust, lightly fried; served over mashed chipotle spiced sweet-potatoes and Bing cherry sauce. It’s from their Appalachian specials list. It was AMAZING … the kind of thing that would make judges on cooking shows very happy — simple ingredients cooked creatively and with style. I don’t live anywhere near here but intend to go again; it’s close enough off of 75 to be worth a pit stop if you’re looking for something FARSUPERIOR to any of the national chain fare most travelers suffer. The restaurant is around the corner from the Booth Museum(which is worth visiting if you like Western American art — cowboy/Indian type stuff — the day I was there they doing an Ansel Adams exhibit, for a small town they have a surprisingly good collection — I was an Art History minor in college — apparently they’re connected to the Smithsonian), and situated under an overpass — which from my perspective was good because it was raining cats and dogs the day I went and I could walk from my car to the restaurant without needing an umbrella. There is a lot of parking under the underpass.

I was so excited to try this place. Everyone always raves about how amazing it is. First let me say, if you are going on Saturday night, no matter what time, expect to wait an hour to be seated. For the price and hype I expected much more. Lets start off with food: Appetizers: Crab Fingers: Skip them. They are hard to eat and have no meat on them. Portobello Mushroom: Delicious. Would definitely get again. Entrée: Salad: Delicious. Probably one of the best salads I have had at a Restaurant. Filet: Skip. Well i asked for Medium and got Medium Rare. It was my fault for not sending back, but it took so long to get the steak I didn’t want to make everyone wait. Also, it was chewy. If I am paying MKT Price I expect my meat not to be chewy. I might as well have eaten at Texas Roadhouse. Mashed Potatoes: Skip. Were cold and had a hard crust on the top because they had been sitting out. No flavor. My husband had the Chicken Fried Chicken: He loved the chicken and his Mashed Potatoes weren’t cold, so he said they were good. He didn’t like the sauce that came with it, but overall he said it was good. Overall it was not a bad experience, but it was not what everyone makes it out to be. For the price I expect more. Glad I tried it, but won’t be back.

Without a doubt one of the better restaurants I’ve dined before. Service was tremendous. The Cajun popcorn was great. The crawfish were tender and delicious. The shrimp and scallop pasta was full of flavor and large. Great place to dine. Well worth the wait!

Stopped in for lunch and was as expected. Ordered the grouper special baked which they did as broiled as they said that was the only way they could cook it — but it was fantastic. Veggies seemed a bit soaked in butter but overall good dishes. I’d be interested to see what dinner was like. Next time I’m in town, I would try it.

Stumbled upon the establishment and thoroughly enjoyed it! We had a new waitress named Becca, she was wonderful! The atmosphere is nice. I had the Texas Reuben, very good… probably the best corned beef I’ve had and the thousand island was most likely house made. The building is under the bridge which was odd and a cute town to walk around.

Been here a million times. Still the best place to eat in Cartersville. The atmosphere is low and soft, nice mountain music in the background. Dress up or come casual.

This was our first time to the Appalachian Grill and it won’t be our last. Where we sat, the booths were fine, the décor went with the theme and the music was at an appropriate level despite other reviews. First off, our server, Cassie, was very attentive, so kind and hospitable. She also was very knowledgeable about the menu, which should be a requirement, but sadly isn’t in most places. So thanks to Cassie! The appetizer portions were beyond generous! We had fried green tomatoes and the fried pickles. My only request here… describe the fried green tomatoes as having a bit of spice… one of our party couldn’t eat them as she isn’t tolerant to a lot of(any) heat. But they were cooked to perfection! The pickles were okay… nothing special. The drinks were not great. We ordered Old Fashions… for some reason the bar has a tendency to make whatever they think the drink should be if they don’t know the drink rather than looking it up. The drink was SOSWEET!!! I couldn’t finish it. The meals we all ordered were cooked beautifully! Portions very generous! Oh and the house salad was amazing! Overall a great visit!

A restaurant deemed«the best» in NY, Chicago, even Atlanta or Athens–(Surprise! Athens is a foodie town!!) — is worth trying. But the best in Cartersville isn’t necessarily an accolade.(As I type this, I realize how highbrow I sound. I don’t mean to.) Don’t get me wrong. The place fills a niche, as evidenced by up to hour-long waits. But Appalachian Grill isn’t for me: naugahyde tablecloths, cracked booth seating, an attempt at ambience with very low lighting, One can overlook the lights, the pleather, the ripped seat scraping our thighs … it’s the food we’re here for. And I say«huh?» Perhaps I didn’t read the menu properly. The pecan dusted trout sounded lovely. I chose it, never expecting it to be fried.(Who fries trout?) My daughter ordered what looked like the chicken-version of my meal, also fried.(To be fair, the breast was juicy, and both portions were big.) My husband chose prime rib, which he said was under-seasoned, though to chef’s credit, cooked medium rare. Our experience wasn’t awful. Side salads are big, and pretty darned good. Decent wine can be had for $ 27/bottle. And the desserts were, um… sweet. Weigh it out. If you live in the area, don’t feel like dressing up, and enjoy big quantities of food, give ‘em a try. You can have my seat!
