First time. Last time, unless just for a beer and pretzel. Server was nice but lost track of us. Turkey club was pressed turkey, I think pre-sliced. Chicken added to Caesar salad was rubbery, purchased pre-cooked. The tater tots were good. But you can buy them at Publix. Food — D; service — C. Stopped at Chick-fil-A for dinner on the way home.

This was my 3rd visit to World of Beer. I ordered two appetizers… The meatballs which were hard as a rock and disgusting. My issue with this place is the service more than anything. It’s borderline rude and has been that way on my previous visits. I am very low maintenance and don’t ask for much. Bartender did not want to be there and had a scowl on her face. I witnessed her act like this to other patrons as well. The only time she perked up was when she brought be the bill. So many other places to go. I won’t be back.

Hate to give a bad review since I come often for trivia and since I’ve been happy with this place but my last experience here was not good. Our waitress was borderline rude all night and generally unpleasant. She seemed impatient when I didn’t immediately know what I wanted to order(get off my back. The menu is extensive and I hadn’t been there in awhile). She also got all huffy with me when I decided to order one more beer as my friends were closing out. I guess maybe she thought I was a lush but I didn’t drink the other beer I ordered because it wasn’t very good. Then, she forgot to pick up my check after it sat there with my credit card for twenty minutes. I wound up accidentally picking up my card and walking out without paying the tab because the wait had been so long that I guess I assumed she must’ve taken it at some point. Yeah, I should’ve realized that I didn’t sign the receipt but still, it was an honest mistake, Of course, I understand that she needed to find me, alert me to my mistake and get my payment but you can do this tactfully. She, unfortunately, didn’t. She yelled at me in a very rude tone as if I was some thief who did it on purpose. When I tried to explain that I had made a mistake and had just assumed shed taken my payment, she got even more rude. People make mistakes Nd there no need to humiliate a customer. I’ll take responsibility for being scatterbrained but that still doesn’t excuse her rude, unprofessional behavior. By the way, my tab was eleven dollars. Who would risk arrest over eleven dollars?

First time at this location. Great atmosphere and ambience. Our server, Kathryn, was great. She wasn’t over bearing, but attentive. She knew when it was time for another beer and asked at the right time. We ordered the Golden Ale Shrimp and the Tavern Taters. Both were very good. The food was promptly served. Overall a great experience. We would definitely return to this location. Oh and Kathryn was an attractive young woman with a great smile.

I’ve been to the Cary WoB twice with my wife and various friends. I will keep this as simple as possible. The food is pretty mediocre, but their beer selection is very impressive. 1 Star for the soggy wings, weak sandwich, pretzel, and flat-bread pizza(best thing we ordered, but only OK). 5 Stars for the beer. Eat before you come and you will leave satisfied.

My husband and I came here on a Friday evening. Staff greeted us at the door and told us to sit wherever we wanted. Outdoor seating is available as well. My husband ordered the wings. He said they were really good but a little bit salty. It came with three pretty small celery sticks. I ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I also like the brioche roll. Definitely a place to come for a variety of beer. I ordered a North Carolina pumpkin flavored gluten-free beer. It was light and flavorful.

I typically go to the World of Beer in Raleigh so my friend and I decided to give the Cary one a go since we were close. It was a Friday night and we were expecting to be there pretty much until 2 drinking. It took us a while to get our first drink. The girl was talking to her boyfriend at the end of the bar for most of the time. Then to top that off they told us they were closing at midnight instead of 2! They didn’t even let us know when last call was. We were very disappointed as we were customers willing to spend much more money. I feel like as a business you should honor your business hours and customers.

A solid place for a great beer! I came here for Unilocal’s Dine on a Dime event, and all the food was pretty amazing. WOB just added food to the menu recently, but from the taste of it, you can’t tell. Everything was cooked to a pretty high quality. FOOD: For appetizers, we had the pretzel bites(German Pretzel), Margherita flatbread pizza, Tavern Taters, Turkey Club, and Beer Battered Apple Rings. Everything was pretty solid with no complaints. Favorite thing we ate: Margherita pizza. GETMARGHERITAPIZZA. All I can say is that experience was heavenly. What an amalgamation of flavors. The Turkey Club was just your basic wrap, but it’s a good choice for something slightly healthier on the menu. Salted caramel sauce on those apple rings = heaven. Tots you can’t go wrong with. BEER: I’m big on IPA’s, so I went with the Boulevard Heavy Lifting. Solid in flavor with a nice bitter finish. Also, there’s a raspberry beer on the menu that seriously tastes like champagne.

Went to World of Beer on a Monday and there weren’t many people there. It was our first time there, so we didn’t know that it was a seat yourself. Usually there are signs that say that when you walk in. So a waitress/server was walking around and I asked her and she said to sit anywhere. Loved the look of the place. When we walked in the atmosphere is a upscale slightly rustic bar. They have a huge line of taps and coolers filled with bottles. The server gave us menus, a draught beer list and a list of beer specials. Apparently, you have to look up on your phone to find the bottled beers they have in stock or the server can look it up on their phone. Here’s where I have issues: While the server was attentive and refilled our drinks and took our orders promptly, she didn’t smile and acted like she wanted to be anywhere but there or that she just didn’t like us. Not sure which it was. We had a Groupon and told her right away, so maybe she thought that meant we weren’t going to tip, but I always tip on the full amount prior to any discount. I also mentioned that it was the first time we had been in there, so if you want repeat business, you might want to make sure you act like you value the customer. Now to the food… The menu has some very weird food. It is the typical type pub food, but with odd additions and no ‘normal’ type food. My husband is a very picky eater and likes the usual burger or chicken tenders. They had sliders, but no actual burger. The sliders were all made to be upscale or like a trendy meal, no just plain cheeseburger sliders or something plain. He had a hard time finding something to eat. I usually like trying new things, but there wasn’t anything I was really interested in either.
I ended up with the Turkey Club and it was the worst sandwich I think I’ve had. The turkey tasted like grocery store cheap lunch meat. There was no turkey flavor at all. For all their upscale fancy food, you think they’d use something like Boar’s Head Ovengold, no such luck. The bacon on the club was way undercooked. The bread tasted stale and wasn’t toasted, I’m used to club sandwiches being on toasted bread. If the bread hadn’t been stale I could have overlooked that part, but overall it was a cheap meal made to look expensive. I got my meal with fries and they tasted like nothing and tasted frozen and just fried. My husband ended up getting the bratwurst sliders minus the mustard. He said they were okay, but they were very small and more like an appetizer than a meal. He also asked for tater tots for his side and it came with fries. We mentioned it to the person that brought the food(who wasn’t our server) and she just looked at us like ‘what do you want me to do about it?’. She didn’t apologize or take the plate back or anything. So we just said forget about it as she stood there looking bored. Okay now on to the beer, this is what this place is for: I was pleasantly surprised at the number of hard cider choices they have, since I myself am not a beer drinker. The prices seem about average, not overly priced. I ended up getting a mixed drink though and was quite happy with it. Hubby tried a beer from the draught list and loved it. Then read the descriptions of some of the beer and chose a farmhouse beer that didn’t say anything about being hoppy(he hates IPAs because he’s not a fan of overly hoppy or bitter beer). Got the beer and I could smell it when it was placed on the table. He took a sniff and a small sip and sure enough it was so hoppy that he wasn’t going to drink it. I think they gave us the wrong Farmhouse as there were at least two on the list. The server was nice enough to get him another beer without charging for the one he couldn’t drink(+ 1 Star). The other two beers he get were quite good and better matched the description(which is why I think they gave us the wrong Farmhouse). The menu also listed draught root beer and craft soda, they had neither per the server. Overall opinion: Don’t go for the food, eat somewhere else first and just go for beer. Be prepared for service without a smile. Bring a smart phone to look up the beers in bottles. Also, ask for the price of the bottled beer before ordering so you don’t get sticker shock when you get the bill. Thankfully we asked before ordering, or we would have been very unhappy. While you can look up the bottled beer on hand, they don’t have the prices listed like the draught list they hand you.

Service was extremely slow. Waited 25 minutes until someone gave us menus. Even though we came in and asked if we seated ourselves. Table was never cleaned off. There is still 5 glasses on the table. Wife is pregnant and saw the draft root beer on the menu but none in stock. Was going to order pretzel but learned it was frozen and premade. Not worth it in my opinion. I believe this business needs to rethink the way they operate!!!

The service… MYGODTHESERVICEISSOOOOOBAD! Ordered my beer three times. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Seriously… They are not busy and we can’t get beers, can’t get our checks. Our server Chrissy is clueless. I LOVE the beer selection here but I’m unlikely to come back. It’s a real shame they can’t do any better. The place is more than half empty.

I’m going to revisit my World of Beer review, I’ve been a few more times and coming down a couple stars after those experiences. They have their couple of stars due to the amount of beers you can choose from there. As I had mentioned in my prior review, they boast of over 500 craft beers to choose from. Some of these can give you sticker shock so be aware of that when ordering. So if you want to meet up with a bud or a group for beers, you’d consider WoB of course. However, I don’t suggest going on a night when there is live music, I think it’s usually Friday nights. We went last Friday night(as well as other live music nights in the past) and it is too incredibly loud for the venue space. I mean INCREDIBLYLOUD. You can’t hear your innermost thoughts, much less your nearest neighbor talking, when there is a band there. You absolutely cannot enjoy being with your companion(s) during live music night. Period. Try to make it a night without a band, it’s a much more enjoyable experience there. Second, I have to mention the food this time. Not recommended in my book. I did mention before they have chicken and waffles on the menu, this item amounted to chicken tenders with Eggo-like premade waffles. This most recent visit, I got the Reuben. The bread was toasted but it was tough around the edges like it was either microwaved before being brought out, or maybe stale, maybe both… not sure but I know it was chew toy tough. Disappointing. Last, service was not as good these past few times. Mostly not overly attentive, but some are very tentative or not sure of themselves. Also, if a server says«I’ll give you a couple of minutes to make up your mind» if we are still looking at the menu, I take that at face value, a couple minutes… not 10 – 15 minutes. Bottom line: The more I’ve gone back to WoB, the more I have been disappointed with the experiences. I do enjoy that they have many beers to choose from and if going back would be for that reason. I definitely will try to avoid live music nights as it is too incredibly loud to enjoy. Service needs to pick it up a notch or two in their game. Food, not my choice for meal time. I want to love you WoB, but you make it so hard!

Great beer selection. Great atmosphere. Poor service. First time I came in and say behind the register, wasn’t served until another customer had to point out that I was sitting there. I sat un-greeted and unserved for about 10 minutes. It’s gotten better since but the bartenders mostly just talk amongst themselves and ignore customers

SOMUCHBEER !!! Don’t go here unless, well, you like to drink beer. They have«bar food» on the menu. It’s actually not too bad for bar food. I had the chicken and waffles and they were pretty good. Waffles were pre made buy the chicken was very good. Slaw had too much mayo for my taste. We would go back and just get a beer and the pretzels which were served on a stand with some cheese I think. Don’t go here for a meal !

I was super excited for a WOB in Cary. I have been to the North Hills location atleast a dozen times since I moved to NC. I live in Cary so this was about to be my new spot and they serve pub food! Tonight was the grand opening although I didn’t find that out until after we ventured in there. We got there around 8pm. The place wasn’t packed but it also wasn’t empty. We walked in looked and saw open tables but going off what we new from North Hills we waited to be seated. No one ever came, no biggie so we found a seat on our own that just happened to have a menu. We looked over the menu decided to try some food(we got a groupon $ 12 for $ 20 worth of food, score!) and got a beer on sale. Again we waited, waited, waited… No one ever came after about 25 minutes later so my hubsand went up to bar. There was wait staff/bartenders walking around serving some tables but never came to ours. Upsetting, and this happen all night long. I also saw this happen to atleast 5 – 6 other people, groups of people. Not all the staff but most here were terrible. They pick and chose the people they want to serve, this blonde chick, a bartender was on her phone half the night and drinking on the job. They had this great singer, guitar player, beat boxer, Frankie something. Sublime is one of my favorite bands and he played a few covers and just seemed very unquie. I was ready to buy his cd than he took a break he announced, came back played 2 songs, asked for shots, took another break without saying a word. He comes back and played the same set: sublime bad fish, wu tang, Alicia keys, 2 – 3 of his own songs, my pony, and says good night. How disappointing! I was only there for 2.5 hours why he is playing the same thing. So for food we had had the pretzel with cheese, buffalo wings, and the Mac and cheese to go(I haven’t tried that yet but it doesn’t look to appealing). I was very happy with the pretzel, a favorite of mine, and thought it was great pub food. The wings to me had a good crisp, not very spicy for Buffalo, celery, and nice blue cheese. Good but not great.

Finally it is here … closer to where I would like it to be. They don’t have the extensive beer list like the one on Six Forks Road. However, the current beer selections have a decent spread. I haven’t given their pretzels a shot. The service was just right. Nice hangout spot for groups of all sizes. Will definitely go back.

We come here often, we live in North Hills. They have live music on the weekends, which is always nice. The outdoor seating is great! They have these bigger outdoor couches to sit on. The only I dont like about WOB is the low number of taps they have. NOW they do have alot! But at a place like this i would expect them to have more. Most of the beers they have actually on bottles. Still this is a great place to go. We come here a lot when we are waiting to get a table a Cowfish. They don’t serve food here, but you can order food from other places.

I was very happy to see WOB open at the Arboretum in Cary so my wife and daughter met me the other night to check it out. It is a nice and very inviting space. Of course the selection of Beer is incredible. As previous contributors have stated be very careful when choosing a beer because some are very expensive, but the prices are there in black and white. The tables inside have not been adjusted for stabilization, they are rickety and your beer will slosh all over if somebody leans on the table. Waitstaff were very pleasant but seemed disorganized, which I write off to the newness of the place. The Beer was delicious as expected. Its gonna take several hundred visits to make my way thru a fraction of the selection. We ordered Wings and Onion Rings. Small portions for the price. Then Onion Rings were perfect. Excellent batter(nice and crispy) and side sauce. The wings were a little soggy. Unfortunately, my daughter and I became ill by the following morning. I will spare the details however I have to attribute it to the Wings. I don’t want this experience to skew my opinion and I going to have to give WOB another try. However I’m gonna stick with the Pretzel next time.

The bartenders know their stuff. They can recommend based off your likes or provide first hand opinions of beers you’d like to try. They’re not shy with samples. I have about 500 reasons to return, having only exercised 2 of them this afternoon. It’s nice to see that they have food on the menu, unlike the N. Raleigh location. I had a $ 12 Belgian bottle, and it was totally worth it. Update: tried the giant pretzel with the beer cheese… amazing. And perfect to share with your girl. Or boy. Or whoever.
