Been there many times. The food is very good for the kind of place it is and better than most independent bars. We have always received good and even great service. The few things I think would improve the place would be colder beer from the tap — Also the restrooms are really bad and remind me of a rundown gas station. Dirty and many times the urinals in the mens room have bags on them for out of order. Never been in the womens but my wife says they are the worst she has ever been in for a bar or restaurant. Fix these things and you get 4 stars from me. I would fix them now. With the new competition from all of the new places here in Castle Rock customers will migrate to better/cleaner places and you might find yourself out of business. I would hate to see that happen since we do like the place other than the restrooms. Hard to find a descent place that is not a big chain.

Hmmm… I’m torn here. My brunch was pretty poor with the over easy eggs cooked hard and served almost cold on my huevos rancheros. Not sure if it was poor timing with our party of 6. Others in our party enjoyed their Ruben sandwich and another loved the monte cristo. Chicken fried steaks were a tough and difficult to chew according to others in our group. Thus, I would recommend enjoying the great sports atmosphere with a beer and a sandwich, brunch or chicken fried steak might not be the way to go.

Been here many times under many names. This iteration is very good. The food is outstanding and the service matches. Not fancy, just good food. A bit out of the way but once you know how to get there it is easy. Never a big crowd which is nice. Translates to never have to wait to be seated or to get your food and drinks. They do a great job on their Mexican dishes — taste like you would expect them to. Highly recommend to just stop in a have a great lunch.

Very good. Cute little local bar and I get the feeling that a lot of locals go there all the time. Service was spot on. Food was good but more of a comfort home feel then a true restaurant experience. Not a complaint just a comment. Very low-key, very casual. I had a good time at a reasonable price I would not hesitate to go back.

Brass tacks, this is an out of the way bar with decent food and cold drinks. I gave five stars because the staff is just super nice. I found nothing to complain about and great customer service can make average into an enjoyable experience. Good place to come watch a game. Kid friendly during the day just because headcount is lower. Nice place for Castle Rock to have. Hope they are here until I lose my interest in cold beer and nachos! Becca was our server, btw. If you get a choice I recommend sitting in her section.

Great service, exceptional food at a relaxed location. We had 2 kids with us and they provided tablet computers with games(free!) while we waited. Mac and cheese was homemade and very creamy. Green chili and chicken poblano soup were delicious and spicy. Sweet potato fries were hand cut and fried perfectly. Cheeseburger and patty melt were also really great quality.

This is your run-of-the-mill hole-in-the-wall bar with a couple pool tables and a couple arcade units. The bar does a good job of making simple drinks which is all I care about there. If you’re properly buzzed, the food will suffice as sustenance to keep you going and happy. Don’t come here for the food though, come here for the drinks and to relax. There is one thing that is hard to explain. The inside of the building has an awkward design that looks like a quickly erected extension for the pool room. There was no thought into the room properly accommodating pool tables as you are constantly running your pool cue into tables and walls, while your feet are running into walls, beer kegs, and tables. Beer kegs? Yep. So if you have any pool skills, you’ll be frustrated beyond belief with every shot… and if you have no pool skills you’ll have more than enough excuses for your failed shots. ;)

Alan and his team were simply amazing and provided such a wonderful experience for our family and friends. He stepped up and made our party personal. Great food as well! Recommend the sliders and empanadas. Overall, he went above and beyond and we recommend going to Hideaway anytime you can!

Yummy food, can’t wait to go back! Went back last night, my daughter had the backend fish tacos, and hubby had delicious meatball sandwich. I had the French onion soup, all supurb! Live the atmosphere at this place, very casual with home cooking

In all honesty, NOT the cleanest bar on the planet. I’d feel better ordering bottles than anything off tap. Been in there a few times since we moved here and each time has been good, though one Saturday night one of the bartenders was WASTED. Given the number of drinks he gave away and that one of our party took a sip on a tropical drink that turned out to just be pretty much straight booze with a splash of juice, I’m surprised this place turns a profit. The food here is pretty good I must say. The kitchen pumps out good food that’s consistant and tastes good. I’m a bigger fan of this place for it’s food than it’s bar.

Great service! Had a little trouble with the bill and was over-charged, but sever corrected the prices; upon me pointing out that their menu says $ 1.99 for a side salad when is added to an entrée; and I had indeed ordered an entrée, but was charged $ 3.99 for my side salad. No biggie, it was addressed. The food choices were what you’d expect from a bar/grill. Cooked very well, and brought out fresh. The fried mushrooms were really good, just pretty thick batter, which I don’t care too much for; but the flavor was really tasty. Atmosphere was what you’d expect for a bar/grill, has a nice little patio if you want to sit outside. Overall, I will be back to taste some of their other options. French dip was a bit skimpy, the adult Mac and cheese was really good!

Based on the rating I really expected this place to have good food great service. But, it was good service lousy food. It tasted like everything was pre-made out of a can or left over. I really wanted it to be good but it wasn’t. Service was great. It’s bar food at best…

As much as I love living in Larkspur, it’s about time to move to civilization. Over the weekend, my love and I decided to get apartment shopping. After touring a handful of apartments and eventually deciding on one, our tummies were growling and we were in need of a cocktail. Now i’ve been admiring the Hideaway for a while now, as it’s right on my drive home and always looks so inviting, despite being right off the highway. Here are the takeaways: 1. The staff is super friendly, fast and were very welcoming to us. we picked a table on the patio and were greeted right away. Happy hour is from 3 – 7, which we were just in time for! 2. The venue itself is pretty cool. Full of pool tables and a stage for karoke. outside the deck is HUGE and boasts plenty of tables and chairs. love it! 3. The food is pretty average, but not bad. we’ve been here twice and were pleased with our orders and the selection of beer! 4. Prices aren’t bad at all, especially for all you get! Now that we are up in the DTC, we’ll have to visit this gem more often when we venture back to Larkspur!

My wife and I went here Sunday morning at 11am before going to the Outlets. The service was outstanding and the patio seating was excellent. More important, the food was very delicious. We ordered the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict and American Breakfast. Both were fantastic! The hash browns had perfect texture and my eggs over medium were spot on. The bacon is really good as well. The Hollandaise sauce on the Benedict was also yummy with fresh tomatoes and some but not too much spinach. The prices are very good…$ 4 Bloody Mary’s…$ 3 Mimosas… hello! Becca was our server and she was as good as it gets. Definitely going back when in the Castle Rock area again.

My husband’s family lives in Canon City and when we visit with our two year old son we usually have to find a way to break up the, albeit, short drive. Most often that happens in Castle Rock and revolves around a meal. Our recent stopover lead us to Hideaway Bar & Grill after I saw on their Unilocal page that they considered themselves a family-friendly spot. And they definitely are that. The space is really big, open, and clean and the patio is awesome. Since it was like one million degrees the day we stopped by though we chose to sit inside. Our two year old ordered a simple grilled cheese that looked so delicious I thought about trying to trade him meals. It came with a side of fruit that was actually cut into kid-friendly bites which I really appreciated. I went with a BLT that was super delicious, but it’s hard to go wrong with bacon. The like to support other local businesses according to their website and every single person working there was unbelievably nice. With this kind of food and this kind of attitude it’s easy to see them as a Cheers-like establishment in Castle Rock!
