Cute little place but too expensive. Great wine but they cost a fortune. Food is very casual for the price and you will probably be still be hungry when you are done. Also no website to check the menu, open hours etc. …

I have enjoyed one brunch and four dinners at this lovely restaurant, and each time it was delish, well presented and well served by servers who knew the menu and were professional at gliding in and out! Yay for Catskill!

We had heard about this cute bistro from several friends and decided to give it a try for lunch on a weekday. My first impression was how adorable the space is. Nicely decorated, a warm feel with a fireplace in the back corner adding to the ambience. It’s a limited lunch menu. There were two soups of the day, a salad option and sandwiches. There was a vegetarian option which was a falafel Panini. It was delicious, but came with cheese in it, which I did not appreciate. There was no mention of cheese on the menu or by the wait staff. The roasted beet slices on it were GREAT however! They were very happy to accommodate special needs or requests. If you are vegetarian there are not a lot of choices but as I said, they will absolutely make something that works for you. The service was very good, I did read other reviews that mentioned slow service, this was not our experience. There were only a few customers there at the time we dined. Great freshly baked goods and amazing coffee creations, people came in just for that. It’s Worth a try.

I visit Catskill frequently and have now eaten here 3 times; lunch and two dinners. Each time the food, atmosphere and service have been great. It’s an authentic owner-run place with very tasty and interesting food — not endless choices rather very delicious options. Also, they are more than willing to tweak a few dishes, like a meat-less request, all to a creative and tasty result. As I read some of the negatives comments, I have to wonder. More accurately I would say the service is slower than some other places(not necessarily a negative) rather than too slow. Some diners actually prefer to not have that feeling of being rushed at every meal. And the waitresses I had were polite, eager to do the right thing and attentive. If something was needed, I just asked and it was done. I feel 394 Main Street to be a real plus for Catskill in terms of the level of cooking done here. Living in NYC, I wish it were in my neighborhood. I would hope patrons, esp. locals, would be more patient and appreciative of a place that is sure to get better and better if given the time. Simply, where else in Catskill(and well beyond) can you have food this good?

What a welcome addition to the sparse, here you see it now you don’t, Catskill scene. It is great for Brunch or lunch — I have not tried it for dinner as yet. I go as often as I can and I take friends so they will become fans as well. I want them to survive the Winter and flourish in Spring 2016 and become a Main Street anchor! Menu, although small, has a good selection so almost any taste can find something of interest. Service is friendly and depending on wait staff on duty can range from excellent to wanting. Go and go often; it so nice not to have to cross the river to find good food and drink.

So… Food is good but after so long service is not what it should be– especially when they are busy!!! Need to get their act together now…

Great new spot. I really enjoyed the vast wine selection. Prices are great as well. Our dish was flavorful. Will come again.

NICE new place. Sweet ambiance, good service, good attitude, good wine… generally very good and we’ll go back. One thing I can say is NOT good and the reason for four stars. The Steak Frites, though properly prepared quality steak was smothered with an awful sauce. If they had a site I’d tell them quietly since I like the vibe. Hope they read this.

I live in Catskill, and I’m excited to have this new restaurant on Main Street. I had Sunday brunch there today. Décor is lovely, granite table tops, an old partially exposed brick wall and old wood ceiling beams, comfortable industrial-design chairs, and good lighting. The $ 15 prix fixe menu included choice of juice, coffee, appetizer, and entrée. None of the juices were freshly prepared, so I passed on this item. My appetizer was a delicious hot beet/vegetable soup, mostly beet and cabbage, seasoned beautifully. For entrée I chose a casserole containing smoked pork, cannelloni beans, and rice; this course was also cooked and seasoned beautifully. For dessert I had a chocolate croissant, the server heated it for me, it was light and buttery, with high quality chocolate. Portion size was perfect for me, not huge, but just right for brunch. Service was very good, and servers were most helpful about describing various items on the menu. I plan to return again and again, next time for dinner. I want this restaurant to thrive, it’s just what we need!

A much-needed addition to the village! Went here for lunch. We had delicious gazpacho soup and kale soup, coffees. The prices were reasonable. We will be back, I hope that they stick around.

I met some friends for dinner. I had shrimp with grits and the flat bread pizza. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The owner makes a smoked ham that they used in the pizza, it had a hint of smoke and heat that was perfectly balanced. He came over and explained it to us which was a welcome touch. The three of us had an app, 4 entrees, a dessert, 3 coffees, and a bottle of wine for around $ 100. I am a local and happy this place is in our town. I plan to return fairly often.

This review is for dinner– haven’t gone for coffee yet but they have an amazing espresso machine. The newly renovated space is upscale and trendy, but not too fancy that you necessarily need to dress up unless you feel like it. It’s pretty clear that service is still finding its way a little bit, but it wasn’t bad and I think will improve over time the longer they’ll be open. Though there were a few missteps the earnestness of staff was apparent, and all were friendly throughout. Food was very good, with a tapas-style dinner menu that’s a little upscale, but priced affordably and is unpretentious. It’s a great place to get a bottle of wine and share some plates, with styles of cuisine ranging globally. The wine list has many options in the $ 30 – 40 bottle range, with a few high roller bottles in the hundreds. Catskill has needed such an institution for a while now, and I’m glad it’s now here.

Slow service. Bad coffee. Very slow service. Stopped in for a meal, but opted for coffee and bagels only since we noticed no one in the place had been served any food(a sign of what was to come). For some reason, the waitress felt it necessary to warn us it would take a while for the cappuccinos. We ordered the bagels at the same time, while we had her attention. The coffees arrived eventually(scalding dishwater-like). We were hungry, and just wanted to get started on our bagels. After what seemed a lifetime, they arrived. Remember, they were just toasted bagels with c.c. They were very average. Not my idea of a NY bagel. Note: All the time we were waiting for the bagels, the table next us is waiting to get anyone to take their drink order. We ate in a hurry and waited for the check, but ultimately we had to go to the counter to pay because our waitress never came back! FYI: The table next us never put in their drink order while we were there… They might still be there, waiting for someone to come help them. Could I have dreamt this? Could two bagels and coffees really bring a restaurant to a screeching halt? Wow!

Just had our first dinner at 394 Main St in Catskill. A wonderful addition with delicious small plates, a full bar and the space is beautifully renovated. Tonight there were sirloin sliders on the menu along with scallops ceviche too name a few. Desserts were also great!
