I’ve had the same exact issues with the owner or hostess that other reviewers have had – very rude and unwelcoming. I have made two reservations in the past, and even then she was rude. Like they all say, you’re just left hanging around as if none of the staff is allowed to do anything other than wait on those already seated. And the one time we did not have a reservation, I heard such a lecture! It’s so sad because the food is very good in my opinion, and the wait staff can be very nice and friendly. The owner should hire a hostess and stay away from the customers!!!

We tried the chicken parm and the eggplant parm. Both were excellent and portions were generous. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area!

If I could give this place no stars I would! Stopped by on our way from Los Angeles to big sur! Family had made a reservation and got their on time! Owner was there, she was really pushy, edgy, irritated by the fact the place was busy! We felt like we were in a military camp, horrible service! Not sure how long they’ve been in business but can’t imagine they would be in business for long with this type of attitude! Not too many restaurants in Cayucos so that might be the reason why they’re still in business Don’t waste your money! Eat at a different place in Cayucos or even in morro bay or Cambria!

Bad service, doesn’t deserve a one star but that’s the least stars I could give! We live locally and frequent a lot of restaurants between Morro bay and Cambria and we’ve tried to give this place a couple chances but have to say save your money(especially if you’re a tourist) and go someplace else that respects and wants your business.

When I read a bad review it often seems the reviewer was in a bad mood and just wanted to vent over some perceived slight. When we arrived early we were told our reservation was in order but«it would be a few minutes». My wife asked to sit inside, she has a bad back, and was told«no». After waiting outside on the sidewalk in the cold wind for a half hour we left to go elsewhere. When we asked how this could happen we were given an argument by the hostess instead of an apology. I guess they have all the customers they need.

The food at this restaurant was delicious. The wait time was short they got us in fairly quickly. This was one of the busier places here in Cayucos. However the waitress rarely stopped by to ask how we were doing and refill our drinks. Other than the minor service issues our visit was great. We would go back again.

A wonderful meal at a reasonable price. My wife and I had two garlic laden entres and split a desert. So excellent. My clams over linguini was covered in little-necks. Underneath were more chopped clams and chopped tomatoes laced with fresh garlic tossed with perfectly firm linguini. Delicious! My wife’s shrimp scampi with risotto was equally tasty. Reasonable wine list. We ended the meal by splitting a memorable flourless chocolate cake that was rich and satisfying. Décor of country Italian was cozy and informal as one might expect in a shore town. Waite staff was attentive and friendly. Coming from the Philadelphia area, I am used to really good italian food and this more than met our expectations. Fine food at good value with warm service: a winning combination.

Opened 5−9pm. My husband and I arrived, no reservations necessary. Cute interior. The waiter was very helpful. We ordered a salad and one of their pizzas with some wine. The salad was good and flavorful, the pizza was thin crust but very flavorful! Then we had a flourless chocolate cake that was very chocolatey and a coffee in a large glass mug. With tip we spent less than $ 55 for the food, service and ambience. We loved it.

Spaghetti and meatballs is an iconic american Italian dish. I twas awesome! My wife had the halibut with risotto and asparagus. None disappointed. Service was spotty because the wait staff was overwhelmed. Would I return, Heck yeah!

Our favorite Italian restaurant! We come from the Bay Area to visit Cayucos at least twice a year. We always eat very well at this charming Café! My hubby esp loves their lasagna. I have several favorite pasta dishes and my child enjoys the pizzas. Great wine too.

This charming Italian restaurant is a must visit when you are on the central coast. We took the quick 15 min drive from Cambria and loved every bite! We got the fried mozzarella(not your average mozz sticks!) and then split the Arrabiata pizza and blackened chicken pasta with pink sauce. Everything was delicious, the service was great, fun and lively atmosphere. They bring out warm baguette slices with a garlic, rosemary and olive oil dip that is dangerously delish. Great wine list and we had their bread pudding which was also really good. Not the best bread pudding I’ve ever had but certainly tasty teamed up with a cup of espresso!

We were looking for a good place to have dinner and got so much more. We were there the day before Valentine’s Day could not find a place to stay within 80 miles radius. When we finally found a place we wanted to have a nice dinner before a long drive. We saw the restaurant just walking by and it looked cozy and rustic and very inviting on the inside. The hostess was very pleasant and informed us that they were fully booked but that she would check. They had a last minute cancellation so she was able to sit us right away and even moved 2 tables together to make us more comfortable. The service was excellent and food delicious. We had their portobello mushroom appetizer first-delicious. Cheesy and melted with good flavor. We ordered the lasagna and chicken Marsala– so yummy. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce delicious. What I really liked is that even though this is a small community and the regulars were greeted by name, we felt were welcomed and appreciated-even though we were just passing through. Great food and great service. Check this place out.

I NEVER give five star ratings, but this meal was SO good. Hubby and I started with a Caesar salad, which the waiter split into two plates for us without us even asking! Also the garlic bread. Delish. For my entrée I had the garlic shrimp risotto. It was perfection! Have you ever tried to make risotto? I have, and now I realize I have failed miserably at it my entire life. These grains were separate, distinct, tender yet with a bit of bite(al dente). Prawns were perfectly cooked. Parmesan cheese gave a nutty, savory touch to the entire thing. It was heaven. Hubby got some sort of seafood pasta, which he liked. I didn’t try it though, I was too intent on devouring my meal. For dessert we split a cheesecake. It was very good. Lighter than I was expecting, much less dense than a new York style cheesecake, but that is not a bad thing. House chardonnay was five bucks a glass. Very good deal. We will be back!

We love dining here, but this trip to Cayuco, we had our small dog with us. Unfortunately Café Della Via does not have any outside dining, so we ordered our diners to go. Block and half walk from our hotel. Hubby loves Chicken Marsala and this did not disappoint him… he ate every single bite! I had the Shrimp Carbonara and honestly, it was one of the best dishes I’ve had. Tri-color cheese tortellini in this garlicy creamy sauce with peas and the shrimp. It was so good. And a huge serving… I can eat, but with this, half was saved for the next day.

I was in Cayucos for one night. I found this gem of a place on Unilocal.I was solo, arrived about 5:30 on Thursday September 17. Was seated right away by the friendly hostess even though I had no reservations. Sean was my server and told me about the specials. All of which sounded great. Sean gave outstanding service throughout my visit. All of the staff was great. Friendly and professional. The actually seemed to like their jobs! Pleasant to see for sure. This place is very nice inside. Small however. I would say reservations would be the way to go. Place filled up quickly. A sign of good food! And the food, amazing. Really good Italian food here. Other Unilocalers are spot on! I started with the fried Mozzarella! Bursting with great flavor. I seriously thought about ordering a 2nd one. I had a pizza with Marinera, artichoke hearts, olives, sun dried tomatoes, and chicken. Loved it. Finished with homemade cheesecake and very good coffee! Overall a fine dining experience I savored. They earned this 5 star review. I will return here with my wife ASAP! Highly recommend.
