Went with the family for lunch. Gets a 4 star for the views and service. Looking out over the pier was awesome and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. One son orders a grilled cheese. Called it heaven cheese. Wife and other kid had a cheese burger. They said it was average. I had the shrimp and chips. The batter was light and not greasy. Fries were outstanding. Try anything here with the Cayucos Hot Sauce, unique. They make one hell of an Arnold Palmer too.

Stopped by this evening with our two small dogs and were told that they do not accept pets here! Very disappointed because we read online that they did and provided water for pets. However according to the front hostess they longer allow pets. Cayucos is pet friendly… so we thought! Pets or no pets we will not return to this place. Thank goodness we found another pet friendly restaurant down the street to celebrate our 19th Anniversary.

This was our first time here. It was just what we were looking for– a little funky, very tasty and memorable. The Bloody Mary was zippy and full bodied. I highly recommend it for the calamari, chowder, and bartender.

This place was packed for late lunch today. We waited in the crowded bar and ordered a margarita from an aloof bartender wearing shades. I have to add that it was very overcast today. The margarita was not what I would order again. I had halibut and chips for $ 17. I can’t complain about the taste of the food, it was decent enough. There was a handful of fries and a few very small pieces of fish. Ketchup, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce came on the plate in plastic cups. The server was acting a little strange but he was nice enough. The main thing that I brought away was that everything felt unclean. I feel like the whole place, including the glasses needs a good scrubbing. I was surprised how many people were packed in there for what it is. Maybe I needed three or four more drinks to see the draw.

Maybe change the hours listed on Unilocal.Drove over a half hour to eat here on a Thursday night at 9:30. Hours say you’re open until midnight, and the waitress says the kitchen is already closed. Thanks.

Really good food and Isaac our waiter did a fantastic job. Great locale and great views. Clam chowder was nice and thick. Everyone else in our group liked their food as well. I did not, however, care for the piña colada I ordered. No flavour at all. Need to work on the recipe I say.

We stopped during lunchtime on our way up the coast. We were seated right away and ordered fish and chips, and calamari and chips for the grown ups, and macaroni and cheese for the little one. Our food was ready so fast and was delicious. The crust on the fish was crisp and delicious. The tartar sauce tasted house made and was also great. The fries were well cooked and crisp. I’m a fan of crisp fries and not all restaurants can cook them properly. Our five year old thought the macaroni didn’t have enough salt but she’s not used to the good stuff(which this truly was) and in my opinion, salt can be added to taste. We didn’t add salt and she ate just as much as she would have normally. Our server was attentive, aware, and friendly. What a great experience. If you’re driving by and need a quick friendly bite to eat, Schooner’s is the place to go.

Didn’t eat here… we wanted to, but the wait staff couldn’t have been ruder to my paraplegic husband.

Came here with a large group. We were in town for the Lighthouse Century and came for our pre-race dinner. We were seated on the outdoor patio on the 2nd floor. This place had great service, excellent food and an overall great vibe. I ordered the Seafood Pasta with lobster tail. It was really good.

This is one of like maybe 3 restaurants in Cayucos that are open past 6pm, so I understand why it’s so crowded. Just frustrating that they said it could be «up to an hour» wait, then it went well over an hour. We finally sat down and there was this long cobweb stretched over our booth, and two pieces of gum under the table, yuck. Then they brought my «ABC» burger sans«B» — the waitress dashed off and brought me some bacon so quickly that I should have known better than to immediately pick it up — totally burned my fingers because it had been zapped in the microwave. Also, it was freezing cold(we ate with our coats on) and it would’ve been cool if they’d have used the wood stove, turned the heater on, or closed the door. Separately, none of these things would’ve been the end of the world, but together it made for a not-great experience. The food was fine, but nothing extraordinary. The drinks are good. The service was okay. Still I think next time we’ll consider other options in the area.

Went to dinner with a group of friends and was far from impressed. As a group we did everything from the surf and turf to the hamburger. Overall everything was bland and overall unimpressive. The local folks decided to turn the patio into a shots and smoking bar which was really unappealing as we tried to enjoy dinner. I would think the staff would have intervened but since our waiter was busy drinking beer… I’m not really surprised he didn’t see the issue. I honestly would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was less than impressed.

Very nice staff, great views, delicious food and cocktails. We sat outside and watched the sunset over the beach with our baby and enjoyed the atmosphere. Small place but perfect in every way. All the foods and apps are out of this world!

Best tuna melt I’ve ever had! Paired well with the beer battered fries and delicious ketchup! Best seating is in the bar upstairs with a gorgeous view of the ocean and pier. I bet the view is killer at sunset. Service was slow but the entire staff was friendly. It’s a quaint place! Prices are cheap.

Limited seating due to updating of the restaurant which meant for a delayed wait. However even with a call in for a reservation we did get In earlier than expected. Service was kind of slow but you can only judge a restaurant on that to a degree. The food however was quite good. Five different people with five different meals. The blackened salmon {on a Caesar salad} was well cooked and I enjoyed it. Ask for the dressing on the side as the dressing soaked the heck out of the lettuce. The unlimited mimosas go until 12:30 — -get there early!!! Ask for a strawberry in your mimosa! Or ask for a bacon Bloody Mary!!! {summer only} Beer battered fries: nummy
