I don’t know what we would do without the Cayucos Market. The people who don’t like it probably just don’t understand what to expect when you visit a tiny little beach town of 3000 people. Be nice to the lovely employees of the store. Admittedly the produce section is marginal. Otherwise, it’s a gem.

There’s nothing super about that dump! A $ 5 market in a million dollar town is the best way to describe it! I bought $ 5 worth of food and paid $ 13…Truck stops in the middle of i5 are better stocked and better priced. I don’t think I’ll ever get desperate enough that I wouldn’t be able to drive 3-miles to Spencer’s.

Terribly small. This is for the unprepared beach crowds mostly. They have a little of everything you would need, but… and then there is the meat counter/deli in the back where you can get some good smelling fresh cooked, rotisseried chicken and ribs. Noticed they carry bread from a local bakery(Atascadero) that looked pretty good.

Really, really friendly people but this market is not super. We were staying in Cayucos and thought we would hit up the local market. We were disappointed with what we found — it’s really a place to stock up on select packages foods(chips, cookies, etc) but the quality of the meat and produce were suspect. On a positive note, they did have mint It’s It’s and even some odd off-shoot of an It’s It that is not covered in chocolate.

Forget local restaurants. The meat market in this supermarket is fabulous! We were in Cayucos for a family wedding. One night we decided to cook in our rental, so we went to the market. The meat department is in the rear. I swear the rib eye steaks were some of the most tender I have ever enjoyed. And the variety and wonderful taste of the sausages were awesome! I am not so sure about the super market itself, but the meat department was the best. I wish they would open a store where I live. The place does not look like much, but OMG!

I was disappointed. The meat department was the only saving grace the guys were nice and really helped offset how rude and dismissive the cashier was. I also bought some baby carrots, when I got home I realized they were slimey and passed expiration.

Holy cow I am truly shocked at the positive reviews for this place. 1. People who work here are RUDE(maybe that’s just about 80% of the people in this town) I was expecting a quaint little town where everyone says hello and I don’t know… smiles! But that is not the case. 2. I went in to buy some drinks and well not much else since they don’t even sell face wash. I can respect that it is a small town however and looked past this. Anyhow, I bought some beer and check out. They lady at the register didn’t talk, smile, NOTHING. As I am walking out the door she stops me and asks to see my ID… last time I checked that’s not how the process works. It was mildly irritating that she asked me in a rude tone seeing as how shes the one who didn’t ask. 3. Came back a few more times over my trip and was checked out by 2 more interesting people who also did not card me. 4. I really wanted to buy a sweatshirt to wear to a bonfire on the beach and they had slim picking so I politely asked if they knew when they would be getting some more in and was told«NO!» okay then… next time I will make sure to drive to Morro Bay Albertsons where I found they understand the concept of customer service.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but really has pretty much everything, even local organic coffee at a very reasonable price. I didn’t feel gouged(being a tourist and all with few choices in Cayucos) so really appreciated the honesty and local feel.

I had the best experience at the Cayucos Super Market. My friend and I went in to look at the meat counter. Don, the owner of the meat counter, was so friendly and helpful. He recommended 2 steaks, which happened to be significantly less expensive than what we were going to buy. They were out of this world!!! Also, we bought 3 of his jalapeño/chipotle sausages. The combination was awesome!!! Hands down, some of the best sausages I’ve ever tasted. I can’t wait to go back and try some more. The produce in the market was excellent, and the service was wonderful. Stop in and take a look. It’s worth it!!!

Don at the Cayucos Meat Market, located inside the Cayucos Super Market makes absolutely the Very Best Apple Sausage, nothing compares to it. Everyone loves his other sausages tooo, it is just that my very favorite anywhere is the Apple Sausage that he makes fresh. For events that is the only place that I order sausage from. Gotta Try it Oh, almost forgot, if you live in the North County, there is a nice chance that Don may drop it by for you, on his way home. Now that is A+ Service

I have a great appreciation for small markets that know just how to maximize their product offerings to meet the needs of their customers. Cayucos Super Market does this incredibly well. Not only do they have a nice selection, they have very reasonable prices. Their produce is cheaper than anywhere around and it’s not the questionably large and shiny fruits and veggies you see elsewhere. It looks like something that would grow on a tree that wasn’t tampered with by greed and the american push for bigger, brighter, and«better» via genetic modification. Plus, if ever you are looking for something they appear to be out of, or say maybe the lettuce looks a bit wilted, just ask if they can check in the back for a fresh shipment and they’ll happily oblige! In addition to the shelves, their deli the Cayucos Grateful Deli & Meats, is fantastic. They make great and inexpensive deli sandwiches and rotisserie chicken– both which you can order halves of! They also make killer italian sausage and their deli meats are some of the best I’ve had. I especially appreciate the flavorful and lean pastrami they carry and the kind, genuine and friendly gentlemen who work the meat counter. The checkout gals are all incredibly nice and I appreciate their warm greetings. I can’t believe I used to bypass my local awesome market in an uneducated favoring of Albertson’s. They may not always have everything I am looking for, but for grabbing select items and small shopping trips they are fantastic! In a modern fast-paced world, I love the old school service that still lives on at the Cayucos Super Market.

I’m so glad i tried a sandwich from this super market over 10 years ago. This is one of my top 3 favorite sandwich places. Not only that, the freshly linked sausages are even better!

It took a while for me to fully comprehend that the Super Market in town offered sandwiches(Cayucos Grateful Deli & Meats) along with the rotisserie chicken(which i buy at least twice a week). Usually the tri-tip is ready around noon, but you want to time it just right, because lots of people come here for lunch and sometimes it can take a while to get your sandwich. I love the tri-tip on french toasted with muenster cheese. The market itself offers some veggie and I believe most of them are local. They also have small selection of local wines and cold beer available.
