This place is everything you want a bar to be and more. You can feel the history, lots of rooms to explore too. No tabs or cards so bring cash!

Great old western saloon — reminds me of our saloon, The Western, in Point Reyes. Great vibe — a little bit fancier than your regular true dive bar. Excellent bartender, great prices on the drinks(cash only), nice mix of locals and tourists. Will definitely stop by there on our next road trip down the coast — we had a really great evening there.

When in doubt… run the other way. Unless you are a local do not bother stepping into this establishment. How can you not be welcoming in a tourist locale? Beer not fresh, and beer mugs are WAY too small. Went in wishing for the best, but did not get what we were expecting.

If you visit Cayucos you have to check this place out! I felt like I was in an old western movie. Check out the murals on the walls in the back. It’s cash only so hit up an ATM first. It looks small from the outside but besides the bar there is a poker room, a stage, pool tables, and shuffleboard. I stopped in twice yesterday. The bartenders are really cool. It’s definitely a locals spot. The band last night was great. Everyone was dancing and singing along. They have awesome hats and tanks for drunk purchase too!

Fun, friendly people. Great bartenders, good music. Small but seems to have enough space for everyone. We met some nice out of towners and enjoyed our time there. There was a great Reggae Band on Saturday night. We’ll go back for sure.

We always come here when in town about every few months, shuffleboard good juke box, cheap drinks, service sometimes questionable but not a big deal. Local bar.

When we first walked in here and took some seats at the bar, we thought this place would be the worst kind of dive. This dude who was totally drunk off his ass told my girl that she was sitting in his seat. We looked at each other and I thought, «Ok, get ready to brawl if need be». The couple next to us, looked angrily at him as did the bartender. Thank god the lovely bartender asked this guy to have a talk with her outside and she later told him that he needed to go for a walk. The couple next to us told us that the guy was a «total pill»(in their words) and they were grateful that he left too. After that we had a cool time chatting with another lady from out of town and she was grateful for the company. We enjoyed the place so much that we came back for some live music and the local rock/blues band was really good. Steve, the lead singer/guitarist was super cool and we talked a while during the break about guitars and music. Anyway, we had a lot of fun here and we’re looking forward to coming back. I didn’t even mind that they only take cash.

I had never had a drink in a saloon. We walked in and the drinks were cheap and Waylon Jennings was blaring. Lovely! Then there was a guy who was visibly intoxicated, sloppy and rowdy being served another beer. It was only 8:30 at night! He was with another guy wearing a t-shirt from the saloon. Scary. Scary in a region where it seems everyone knows someone or of someone who’s died in a bar fight. We had a cheap drink and then quickly left the loud over-served drunks.

I moseyed up to the bar on the way home, to wet my whistle. Not much going on when I was there, on a Friday I expected more activity. The bartender was pleasant and conversational. This kind of joint one would expect a line of Harleys or a hitching post out front. They have a card room in the back, too bad I don’t gamble. I just eat, drink, travel and write about it, then repeat the process. I might add the jukebox has an assortment of interesting tunes for your listening pleasure. Where else can you play Slayer ad nausea. Eleven taps on hand, nothing to write home about and live music, although not when I was there. The place has history, but as exciting as watching paint dry. I had a lukewarm vibe, can’t say that I recommend this spot. Check it out for yourselves Tex, and remain Feral, partners.

11 beers on tap. Good music and last eve a good band. Classic dive with the ceiling covered in dollar bills. Friendly bartenders. Lively night life. 5⁄14 a Sierra Nevada on tap probably 12 ozs(no pints here) is 4 bucks. The beers on tap are overly cold, especially for the 805, IPAs and especially the Guiness. Not a place for brew affectionados

Down to brass tacks, this place is a really great dive bar in Cayucos, but only because you don’t have any other choice, it’s really the only bar in town! You can get drunk quite quickly and the atmosphere is something you’d expect in the wild west. Our group was only in-and-out so I can’t really write any more. Cash only!

Cash only. Happy hour 4 – 7. Fun local crowd. Cool jukebox. Friendly service. Pool tables. Great dive bar! Dollar bills on the ceiling, cheesy fake fireplace for ambiance. Life size murals – two nude cowgirls for hubby and one grizzly old cowboy for me :-(

As others have said this is really the only nightlife in Cayucos. Bartenders are super cool. They have pool, shuffleboard and even cards in the back I believe. They have live music here every so often and when they do it can be very packed. Always a good time.

«Liquor in the front, Poker in the Back…» If you want to see what a REAL«wild wild west» bar looks like, then this place is for you. And how many bars and taverns can claim they were built in the 1800s? Half the time, I turn around and expect to see a rumrunner, smuggler, or cowboy walk in. You can even hitch the horse up outside at the water trough… Skiball, cheap pints, and old-school Western naked lady bar-hoe murals. Wondering where half the town’s population is around…8 pm? Just check the Cayucos Tavern!!! To quote the August 2009 edition of National Geographic Traveler Magazine… Don’t change Cayucos.
