Zero stars wasn’t an option. We came here to watch the rose bowl in a party of 4. We asked to sit at a table to get a good view of the TV. The waitress refused to seat us there and told us we’d need more people. We sat in the booth for 15 minutes and(justifiably) no one else came. Eventually a few minutes before kickoff we left. The tables sat empty and the manager even told us we weren’t allowed to us the empty tables. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced worst customer service. The manager said«I don’t know what your problem is.» I asked his name and he said it’s Chuck. I pulled out my phone and he said«Go ahead and post your review.» He then walked away and came back a few minutes later and said«If you’re going to post a bad review you need to leave.» I was nothing but respectful to Chuck and simply asked to reconsider his policy because his tables were empty. I guess they’ll have one more empty table.

I am not sure you could really call the pizza either New York or Chicago style. After eating pizza characteristic of both states, the pizza at Doughy Joey’s does not measure up. I ate here for dinner when I town recently and had a New York style pizza one night(carry out) and had a rendition of Chicago style later in the week(dine-in). I love pizza and wanted to give this place a fair shake before rating. The New York style crust was overpowered with flour and tasted like a rice cake. Toppings were fresh, but the taste was overpowered by the flour. The Chicago style tasted too gritty, like too much corn flour, and was very greasy. The décor was nice, service was good, but the food did not measure up to the advertisement.

I was searching for a place to eat while out of town, and seeing as The Other Place had WAY better reviews, it was an obvious choice. However, the five people with me disagreed. So, being reasonable, I agreed. We drove to the area, convenient to our location at the Hilton Garden Inn and Suites, and it was remarkably easy to find. We entered, and actually, I was pleasantly surprised. However, the waiter we had was just okay, and it was very loud throughout the restaurant, so it was kind of hard to talk. The food wasn’t bad. The Chicago style had nice, chunky sauce, and I liked the crust as well. On another pizza filled hand, it wasn’t anything special. I have definitely had a better Chicago and New York style pizzas. We also tried the salad and breadsticks. The salad was fairly good, but the breadsticks were plain and not very well seasoned.

My family went tonight. We were a group of 11. The owner«greeted» a family member at the door and when the subject of if we had children in our party came up my family paused for a minute to think of how many little children we had. Apparently, this pause took too long as he scolded her for not giving him a «complete answer». THISISHOWTHEOWNERTREATS A CUSTOMER!!! The food is nothing to write home about. The bruschetta was soggy. The one saving grace was our waiter, Alex. He was great! He was attentive and always smiling. Thank you, Alex. The restaurant was not busy. It had an average size crowd and plenty of wait staff. On the way out the hostess staff including the owner stood talking. No one said thank you or have a nice night. As a service employee, this drives me crazy! This is the 3rd time I have been to this restaurant at this location. The only time I ever go back is if I go with a group that has picked the place we eat.

this place has been advertising heavily lately, so for father’s day we decided to try it. I looked at the online menu before we left, so I knew what I wanted and what came with each meal. the staff that greeted us at the door was really friendly and had our table ready. nice. i ordered a bottle of Aquafina. the waiter acted like he didn’t know what i was talking about and said they didn’t have it. even tho it was online AND on the menu. i ordered a mikes hard instead with a glass of ice and received 2″ of ice in a large glass. :-(no straw. the French onion soup was really good, and they make a good salad, altho mine came with no croutons and no breadsticks. i had to ask for the latter. it was quite small for $ 3.95. i could have used another drink, which would have upped his ticket total, but he never looked or asked. the table never did get prebussed, which is bothersome. the menus were sticky beyond belief and the POS screens were dirty, which tells me that hands seldom get washed. some guy, who i am assuming was a dishwasher, walked through the dining area numerous times, in a filthy, slobby tshirt.(ew.) back of house should look as presentable as the front. or don’t come out. we sat by the kitchen door and half of the servers spent a lot of time on their cell phones back there. i am also assuming that since it was sunday night, management was a little lax. we asked for separate checks and didn’t get any. PAYATTENTION. our server was lucky he got the ten bucks we left. this restaurant is owned by people in the F&B business for a long time and they own numerous establishments. even tho the food was pretty good, i guess i expected better. cleanliness and service are more important sometimes. we won’t be back.

Only been there once over the summer and business was dead. Wondered about ingredient freshness since there was no business. We had pasta bowls and they were ok. Pretty heavy. Personal pizza was fine. Beer choice limited.

In the area on business and this was one of very few places to eat close to my hotel. I stopped yesterday for lunch and had a buffalo chicken salad that was excellent, though service was very slow even though the place was empty. It was good enough I went back for dinner and got a Cobb salad(5 out of 5) and wings with Mikes Special Sauce. They were sort of sweet and spicy and different, but good. I’ll be back when in town again the next time. Certainly blew away the restaurant attached to the Hilton Garden Inn…

It’s ok. More than I would pay for this food and you can probably make it at home. Cheese sticks were awesome tho! Would go back for a large group thing or something as a meeting deal, but probably not on my own or with my family.

The commercial claims a Chicago New York experience. Every time I see it I laugh out loud the only way this place is like those two great cities is if you have never lived in those two great cities. Stick to what you know best Joey but what is that? Shameless fooling the masses with a cheaply done commercial. The food isn’t even worth a review.

Being a Pizza Snob from Chicago I have to say that the pizza wasn’t bad, but not up to real Chicago pizza standards. Crust was doughy, but quite edible. Ingredients, I’d only give them 3 stars. I ordered the 7″, good serving size for 1 person, sausage onion, green pepper. The green pepper and onions were diced too small and their presence was lost. The sausage could have been spicier and chunkier. Another thing they do that is totally different, they don’t add the sauce until after they bake the rest. True Chicago pizza, its all baked together. The sauce was chunky which I liked, but it too could have benefited from a little more spice, spice not salt. Having said all this, I will try them again the next time I’m in town. But next time I’ll try the thin crust. The waitress, Dacia, was what got them 4 stars not 3. Her service was perfect.

We tried this place on a Friday night and it was packed! It is a huge hang out spot for the college kids which may turn some people off but the atmoshphere was very lively and happy. We had great service and tried a couple of different pizzas. The pizzas were very good and the waitress brought her a game and was top notch for a busy night.
