My family and I Went for a burger and wings This evening. My daughter ordered a half rack of ribs and they were so overdone they appeared to have been deep fried. The service was aweful, I couldn’t Even get additional napkins. no refills on my husbands water. When they first opened I thought it was good, not sure what happened but we will certainly not be going back. In the 9 years here in the area, that location seems to change hands frequently. People here in Cedar Park like to dine out but not where the food is subpar. Maybe hopefully something good will replace this dump soon. Go to Foxhole Tavern if you want good food!

I visited this Plc 3 times and I liked ! Specially the fish tacos it was great! I am not pick and certainly enjoy simple places. My first time here I met good people and mingle well but never came back with busy life until last week on my staycation and the waitress was super friendly and nice she put for the Brazil game and we got good interaction and I was really comfortable. For me so far is a great place local to hang out now if you have friends of course is much more fun instead of alone which certainly is not good anywhere. I am coming back here more often ;-) specially for games!

Skip it. Walked in and first impression was that the restaurant was filthy. The glass was chock full of handprints, tables and floors dirty, dark, dank and not inviting. Food reflected the atmosphere. Most of our dishes were very salty and avocado and greens were obviously not fresh. How do you serve brown guacamole? Service was attentive and we were promptly welcomed upon entering so the staff was definitely trying. White plastic chairs do not belong in a restaurant setting. Utensils had food on them, glasses were fogged and chipped and overall it was a let down. Too many local options to frequent such an establishment with obvious issues. Hopefully the managers/owners will take note as this is definitely a management issue.

We visited Highlights last night(Thursday) around 7 pm with our family(5 adults, 1 child) following Primrose School’s preschool graduation. Other family members had previously been there and enjoyed the place with its outdoor play area. They said the restaurant was more crowded than usual… but that this was expected given Highlights was aware the group was coming there after graduation. The outdoor area where we sat was maybe 75% full, exclusively with families with children… but none in really large groups. The wait staff seemed nice and our drink orders were taken fairly quickly, but it took over 20 minutes before they arrived. My draft beer was lukewarm and barely fizzy, and I probably should have sent it back. 3 orders for food were taken about 20 minutes later and 2 took nearly an hour to arrive. One of them, a simple chicken burrito, was so late in arriving that we had it boxed up to take home. An order of nachos barely got eaten with some put into a box and the rest left behind. We didn’t intend to be at Highlights from about 7 to 8:45 pm, but only stayed that long because it took forever to have our orders filled. We probably should have walked out and told staff why. They seemed oblivious to our long wait. After asking, one in our group was told that our orders were delayed because they were trying to take care of children’s orders first. I find this to be an unacceptable excuse: given they knew a group was coming and the large number of waitstaff available, the only excuse for the poor service is bad management. Relatively high pricing(save for Happy Hour) and the poor service give us no reason to return here.

We had the BEST experience here. Great Playground. Food was AMAZING. And best of all, our server De’Amber was so fantastic! We will definitely be back and asking for De’Amber. Thank you!

We needed to find a place that my son and I could eat before going to a concert at the Cedar Park Center. We found Highlights, and I’m glad we did! The service was excellent, great atmosphere! But what I liked the best was the food! I ordered the Green Chile Burger, it’s was awesome! Highly recommend! Next time I come to a concert here in Cedar Park I’m coming here! :-)

I’m a reasonable person, I know not to expect a lot when i go to a place on ‘kids eat free night’. However, I was blown away at how bad this place was. Slow, inattentive service. had to ask for set ups. 6 tables, 3 servers, definitely not slammed. The $ 12 burger was overcooked and flavorless. If they ask how you want it cooked, I would think they would attempt to cook it that way. the kids pizza was burned and I believe made of cardboard. I honestly didn’t expect much bc it’s kids eat free Wednesday, but if that pizza wasn’t free I would have sent it back. I gave it 2 stars bc there is a playscape. Really No reason to come here other than that.

I have always had great service, love the outdoor patio on pleasant days; it’s close to where I work so I don’t have to fight traffic to grab some lunch. The menu has lots of variety to offer but my favorite to order at lunch is the Reuben sandwich, hands down it is absolutely one of the best I have had in a long time. Love this place!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Here with a large group at happy hour and there is literally one server for the entire restaurant and patio. It took us 45 minutes to get a beer. We ended up closing our tab and going across the street to the Dig Pub. The service here is consistently lacking. Will not be back.

First off. One star is because they have Lagunitas IPA on draft. If it wasnt for that, this would be one star review. Food and waitstaff is mediocre, at best. Very inattentive and more worried about tips then service. Two times, I’ve complained to a manager named Rob, but he does nothing to rectify the situation. In fact, one time after complaining that my burger was cooked wrong, he asked us to leave the restaurant. One time, they over served the table next to us. They then started messing with my wife and I. After complaining to Nelson, we were offered the«opportunity» to move outside in the rain, or close our tab and leave. long story short, we’ve been her maybe six times, mostly to watch NFL games, and when they first opened they were great. now, it just seems like they only care about the tables buying lots of alcohol. nobody else matters and all receive terrible service and condescending lectures from managers. avoid this place. there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that serve the same food, but ACTUALLY appreciate their patrons.

This review is for the bar area only. I recently had a nice late afternoon soirée with a colleague here. Highlights has some pretty good happy hour specials on beer, Titos, and munchies. Make sure your server or bartender explain the specials as there are exceptions. Service at the bar was friendly and prompt. I do wish they would expand their beer selection, especially drafts, like their counterparts on 620. There is a nice outside patio seating area as well.

I’m giving this a 3 for the following reasons. 1). Service is typically slow as molasses, ive been ten times and on average it is terrible to get a drink 2). Outside of last visit service people seem annoyed to be working. Sorry, you picked the job, smile 3). The outside is run down. The whole outside is hap hazard, as if someone had an idea and then got sidetracked. E.g. outside bar has never been open, play scape area needs more wood chips, need more tables and stable chairs, heaters last visit didn’t work, outside TV was green, etc. 4). Food, this is what got it up to a 3, their food is very good, I love the wings, its an odd place to say has great wings. I suspect this place won’t make it, on a football playoff weekend it was nearly empty, that would seem to be its sweet spot. Does a good happy hour and good for parents with kids and I wish it reads this review and acts before it loses and turns off others and then…

I’m updating my review upon second visit here! Service appeared to be a lot better! Was with a large group so got the opportunity to see many different food items! Wings were good traditional bar wing nothing fancy! I was most impressed with the chicken nachos someone ordered at the table! Kids meals were very disappointing! They looked like enough food for a child under 3! 2 small tenders and an equally small portion of fries!

Well, we tried Highlights on a Friday Night. It was only 25% filed. Luckily, Corey was our waiter. He was fantastic, always there when we needed something. He explained he is the one who trains the wait staff. Ordering off the Happy Hour menu, we choose the Fish Sticks and Nacho’s. We received three large pieces of fish and a side sauce. The good was the fish was hot, fresh and nicely breaded. The down side was it was flavorless. Even dipping it in the sauce, it was bland. If they would have seasoned it before frying, it would have made a difference. The nachos were beautifully presented. The four large pieces of tortilla chips had pulled pork, cheese, sour cream, green onions and jalapenos, all piled in the center of the chip. After smearing the toppings so it covered the whole chip, I took my bite. First the chip was awkward to eat because of its size. One bite and the chip was cracking apart. The flavor was flat. The pulled pork was boring. I was noticing a theme here. BF ordered a margarita and then switched to beer. He said it didn’t feel like there was Tequila in it. I had a Tito’s vodka and cranberry juice. On the HH menu, it said Tito’s vodka for $ 3.25. If you add any juice, soda, or mix to it, these are a dollar more. What I got was a shot of vodka, a splash of cranberry juice and a whole lot of ice in a 4 ounce glass. Not worth it. We debated on getting dessert. Some of them sounded delicious on the menu but so did the appetizers so we passed rather than be disappointed. Even though they are close, not sure if we will return. Not impressed.

Visited this establishment on 7⁄13 around 6:00PM for the first time as «Highlights Grill» When we arrived we were sat down in the main dining area separated from the bar with a wall and tinted glass. The wall and tinted glass is new addition since the last restaurant that was in this location. At first the wall & tinted glass seems like an elegant way to divide the bar and dining area. However, we soon realized this wall prevented the staff from knowing that we needed service and we felt ignored. On two occasions I had to go to the bar and go get our server to refill my tea. When we were ready to go I could not get anyone’s attention so I could pay my bill. Twice I stood up and opened the front doors hoping that this would get the staffs attention, but it did not. The hostess station was also vacant making it even more difficult to gain the staff’s attention. I ended up going and standing at the drink prep station the servers use at the bar, until my server saw me. Highlights seems to have the same bad hallmarks as the last restaurant in this location. Over priced mediocre food and the same bad service to go with it.

It was ok but has the potential for being great. Varied menu with something for everyone. Loved the Cobb salad. The Mac n cheese for the kids was pretty good but not served warm enough. The Greek salad was SWIMMING in dressing and the fried oysters were overwhelmed by the sauce. The playground was nice but there were some big kids(12+). Not enough shade on the patio, some umbrellas or more awning is needed. Food was served promptly but they forgot to bring my salad dressing and I had to wait for it to come out. Waited a little long to order. ETA: As we were leaving, the manager chastised a parent for her kids throwing bark out on to the sidewalk. Where was he when the big kids were ONTOP of the swing set and acting like wild chimpanzees at the zoo?

This is a family friendly sports bar with small outdoor children’s play area. There is a partially covered outdoor patio area plus larger indoor dining area. Service was slow, not particularly competent, though fairly friendly. The menu featured a decent selection of salads plus usual burgers and bar food. Food quality was poor… salad just drowned in dressing, fried oysters totally overpowered by sauce, etc.

Brunch not so great. Ask to be seated inside and still seated by roll up doors that were open. Order eggs Benedict: my poached egg was cooked well done and rubber, English muffin was untoasted, stale and cold. Not to mention missing the Canadian bacon And hash browns where undercooked and cold. My spouse order the hash no onions. After waiting 25 min they came to say sorry we can’t do that. So he took as is. Came out cold. The manager Marcus was very nice in offering a new plate and fixing ticket. But still not on my top 10 places to get brunch In future

Highlights opened their second location today in the former Hemmingway’s location. The menu is very similar to the 620 location but due to their smaller space they serve less beers on tap and pizzas are off the menu. They do however offer ½ price taco plates on Tuesdays(instead of pizzas) making a generous plate of tacos and sides come out to around $ 4.50! We were kindly greeted to complimentary seasoned popcorn while we looked over the menu. Notably the wine selection is decently priced and the happy hour menu has both a white and red for $ 5. Happy hour also includes«bites» like their creamy hummus with crispy chick peas and $ 1.50 off drafts. I intended in ordering their seared ahi tuna but it was opening day and they did not have a few items available to include tuna. Considering it was«taco Tuesday» I ordered the grilled fish tacos and I was not disappointed. Corn tortillas were topped with grilled white fish, cilantro, the smallest drizzle of spicy mayo with sides of fresh guacamole, picante with corn and black beans and a slice of lime. The specials are impressive. Margarita Mondays, ½ price tacos Tuesdays, ½ price bottle Wednesdays and Ladies’ nights on Thursdays. They also installed a playscape for the kiddos, have lots of flat screens showing games for the sports fans and while I cannot verify the patio is dog friendly I did see a small puppy on the patio. Welcome to the hood Highlights!
