I received my first eye lash extensions by Kasey Yabarra at Malihini Salon. Her application was ever so gentle, gave clear directions and always checked in on my comfort level. Before the application I had short blonde eyelashes which are invisible without mascara. Now, thanks to Kasey, she has magically transformed them into long very natural, noticeable, stunning eyelashes! I couldn’t be more pleased! I would highly recommend Kasey to all my family and friends. Thank you Kasey and Malihini Salon!!!

Kasey cut long layers into my hair and dyed it and I could not have been happier. She was such a sweetheart and did above my expectations on my hair I will absolutely be coming back and highly recommend her.

Let me start by saying that I have an extremely low, if not non-​existent tolerance for pain. So sure, I decided to give a Brazilian wax a try lol. Mostly because I am 8 months pregnant, can’t maintain myself and found a Groupon for a great price.
I was greeted by Crystal, who was also my waxer. She was friendly and kind — she gave me directions and made me feel comfortable, explaining that I would be extra sensitive because of the pregnancy and it being my first wax.
Full disclosure — there was a lot of pain. More than I could have imagined. It honestly felt like my skin was being ripped off. However, Crystal was very encouraging and supportive, explaining what I could expect and telling me I was a champ. Bless her heart, I was writhing in pain and cursing like a sailor but she remained calm, calming and professional. In any case, the pain wasn’t her fault — it’s the nature of the job, and again, I’m a weeny.
I can say that the pain subsided quickly after she was finished and I am very pleased with the end result. The masochist in me booked a follow up appointment with Crystal in 4 weeks, so I will definitely go back for round 2, as well as a facial.

I am giving three stars because workers were friendly and welcoming. The location is clean and convenient. But the hair service was not good for me. I went in for a cover up of my grays. I noticed the hairs exposed to my part were covered, but when I got home and flipped my hair over, the rest of my grays were not even colored. I tried calling and leaving a message about this, but I never received a phone call back to correct it or apologize. I thought this was a little unprofessional since I paid so much and was willing to give them a second chance.

I have had multiple microderm-​abrasions with Krista. She uses high quality products during the treatment that feel fabulous and really work. I’ve seen amazing results with my hyperpigmentation. And… you get a facial during the same session! You just can’t beat the level and quality of service, especially not for such a great price!

Taryn and her team are amazing! I have been going here since moving to the area about a year ago and have had great experiences every time. She does a great job with my hair as well as my daughter and son, and in a short amount of time. Always super friendly and accommodating! The salon is nice and they offer several other services (facials, eyelashes, etc.) They are also open on Sunday’s, which is very convenient for my busy schedule! I highly recommend this place!

I was afraid of the Brazilian Blowout because I color my hair and it is very curly. I let Rindi do the Coopala Smoothing system to my hair, and I love it. In Austin with the humidity this has been a miracle to my hair. My hair is so much easy to straighten and style. I can let my hair grow longer without the struggle to straighten my hair. I got the 4 to 6 month treatment. I cannot believe how easy it is to straighten my hair. Girls with curly hair know the struggle is real. I would recommend Rindi to all my family and friends.

I got a facial peel, and an amazing Brazilian from Krista the only esthetician there and it was amazing. She has great products and would highly recommend her to all my friends. Very very nice too!

I had gotten a leg wax done with Christi and it was awful. I left with wax all over my legs and when I got home I had to shave because she had missed SO much hair! Terrible bed side manner and very rough. I tried this place out because of the groupon, but I will unfortunately not be back. On the flip side. I saw a girl get her hair color done and it looked amazing

Never have I ever had a haircut I truly loved until this place. I have had several bad experiences but this place was awesome. I showed her one picture of what I wanted and she got it just right! Really great place and it wasn’t awkward like some places can be. I cut off about 8+ inches of hair and am loving it. I am one of those people that hates getting a haircut. (it’s just hair, it’ll grow back. So NOT MY MOTTO) I will always go to this place for my haircuts from now on! Highly recommend

We LOVE Malahini Salon! Taryn, the owner, is friendly and wonderful! We’ve been going for over a year now (she cuts the hair of everyone in our family) and we couldn’t be happier! Love that we have a great salon so close to home.

I have very thick, long and unruly hair. I asked someone whose haircut I admired who they saw and they said Taryn at Malihini Salon. I have been going there for over a year now and am very happy. I go a few times a month to get my hair straightened to make it easier for work. They are always friendly and glad to see me. (Not all stylists are since my hair is so unmanageable). Taryn gives a great haircut, she is definitely an artist. I recently branched out and booked an appointment with Abbey who also works there. She did a fantastic job straightening my hair. She took her time and was very thorough. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Taryn took the time to listen to me when I explained how I wanted my very thick hair cut/​styled. The salon was clean and the staff was friendly. I’ll definitely be getting my next cut there.

Malihini Salon is hands down the best Salon in town. I always step out of the salon feeling like a new women with amazing hair. Taryn works wonders (and believe me I have tested her ability and patience!). I will never go to another salon again!

The owner gave my child a very good haircut, probably one of the best we’ve had. But she was very impatient with my child and not very friendly. She didn’t try to talk to my child at all, no small talk. She was a little too stern when trying to get my child to look in the right direction. And her phones, cell phones, kept ringing. Maybe she was having a bad day? After we left my child said «I never want to go there again». Disappointing, because the actually haircut was very good. Maybe she’s better with older kids and adults?

The owner Taryn cuts my sons hair and she if great! She is very sweet and gentle and I love the way she cuts his hair. Great salon!

I’ve had great experiences every time I’ve gone this salon. I have 2 boys (ages 3 ½ and 5). Taryn is so wonderful with them. They LOVE getting their haircuts there and I am always happy with the quality of their cuts.

I started going to Malihini after I got sick of overpaying at a nearby Aveda salon. Taryn cuts my hair now, and I’ve been happy ever since. She’s quick, very open and receptive to feedback, and has always been flexible in terms of scheduling. Most of all, I’m always happy with the cut when I leave. She cuts my son’s hair as well. He’s five, and is always excited about going in because he gets to play video games in the chair while getting his hair cut.
Bummer that Kara W. had a bad experience, but I think that’s atypical. Taryn is the owner/​operator and was short-​handed for a brief period after her partner flaked out on her. I’m willing to bet she was spread thin on the day Kara W. came in. Taryn now has a new partner and things have been running smoothly since, especially considering they seem to be much busier these days.

Best haircuts ever! The staff is ever so friendly, informative and are very good at what they do. Very impressed! We will be back!:)
