Aldi Foods

This is a great place to get all of your basic groceries, stop here first to get the basics then go to hy-​vee or wal mart to get your more specific/​specialty items.

I remember when Adi just carried dry goods and you had to go somewhere else to get your fresh products. Aldi now carries a good selection of produce at rock bottom prices as well as fresh meats, specialty cheese and fresh pizza. I have an issue with factory packed fresh meat, even if they say it’s safer, it just seems too processed for me.
Aldi has gotten more upscale products over the years, including some brand names. The big downside is most of those high quality products are carried on an in & out basis. So if you spot something good on a «Special Buy» you better stock up because chances are it won’t be there the next time you go back. That being said it’s «the stock up store» for good reason. Milk is just $ 1.89 a gallon! You can get cereal, sauces, canned goods and most staples for less than the «club» stores. Check their weekly ad for even bigger savings. If you’ve overlooked Aldi, it’s time to take a closer look.
