Excellent! Small place and is next to a subway that is tucked away behind a hotel. I almost drove right past it. Glad I didn’t. From the time I sat down to the time I received my food was maybe 7 minutes. I ordered a large margarita and tacos el pastor. I received a giant glass and two minutes later I had my tacos! The tacos were absolutely delicious! The only problem I could come up with was that the tacos were served on flour tortillas. I was expecting traditional corn but again this was not a problem or is this a complaint. The tacos were excellent! The next time I come through Cedar Rapids I will be coming back to Cancun… If only the view was of the ocean…

I had the combo 26, beef enchilada, burrito and chile relleno. The burrito and enchiladas were basically the same thing– ground beef with a tomato based sauce. Not great, but not bad. The relleno was more or less a bell pepper with meet in it. I’m used to them being green chiles stuffed with cheese and fried, which are amazing. This was just ok but they did put a queso on it that was pretty awesome. Overall, not great but I haven’t been to any other Mexican around here To compare. I only know what I’m used to in southwest and this wasn’t close to that.

Drinks are great and decent price. Food was fantastic. Ate too much :) Prices were good. Service was fast even though it was crowded. If I’m ever in Cedar Rapids again, I’ll make sure to stop here again. Just great!

Turns out there might be hope for a good Mexican restaurant in Cedar Rapids. After one lunch visit I am pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Chimichanga lunch with beef. The portion looked a little small but was filled with chunks of well cooked beef. The Chimichanga was fried but not over cooked. I had to add a fair amount of salt(normally, I eat it as is but it was a little bland) and it tasted pretty good. The beans were just okay. — 4 Stars Service was very fast and attentive. Refills were provided mostly without request and they even gave me a to go cup when we left(which I asked if they had when she took my cup). — 4 Stars The place was clean. — 4 stars The only issue I guess I had with this place is that the booths seemed quite small for more than a party of 2. This doesn’t change my rating though. The price ranged from $ 6 — $ 12 for most everything on the menu. Lots of choices for lunch.

The food was wonderful. I got the quesadilla supreme. You received a generous amount, and they were very tasty. The chips were warm, crisp and light. The horchata was excellent. The atmosphere was friendly nothing fantastic. I will be back.

The 1st great Mexican restaurant in Cedar Rapids. I have lived here 11yrs… I am from Texas.(hold your hand over your heart when you say that. lol).and love this food. This is one of only 2 good Mexican restaurants in this area I have found. The price. the portions.the service. that fact that it is a CLEAN place. Senoir Juan-the owner-walks through and checks that you are happy. They have these GRAET wall fixtures that I would LOVE to buy… they bring them up from Mexico… I wish they would tag ‘em and sell ‘em :-)

Really fresh and great Mexican dishes! Margs are pretty good and chips and salsa are fresh. Chili Colorado is my favorite but Chili Verde is also outstanding.

Good authentic Mexi food. I got the La Favorita. Beef tips are delish — can’t get that at Carlos O’Kellys. My flaws: felt like throwing up for a few minutes and I got the trots in the middle of the night. Not usual for me. Then my mom got the trots. Trying Los Compadres next time.

I used to eat here on a regular basis they have some good enchiladas and I love there rice but I’m not on that side of town as much as I used to be. The service is good but sometimes there are language barrier’s.
