So I have been doing quite a bit of travel and wanted to share some good places to eat that I have found along the way. I can tell you if you want average quality and probably the worst service I have ever experienced; then ‘The Little King Deli’ in Cedar Rapids is your spot. I was not greeted at all when I walked in or as I stood at the counter, just some young kid staring at me in awkward silence. In an effort to break the uncomfortably awkward vibe I say«Well, I guess I will have a roast beef sandwich». His response from behind the counter, «HUH» with the disgusted look of a disinterested teenage girl who was being bothered by her dorky younger brother OR the same sort of disdain you can expect from some government worker when your trying to fix problematic paperwork that they created. My words don’t do it justice, it was pretty terrible and did not get any better the entire time I was in the shop… I would be appalled if I was the owner(which I believe was his grandmother standing right there, distracted with the mail) at this behavior towards a customer. This young man has A LOT to learn about customer interaction and that should probably take place sooner rather then later. The food was only average(roast beef on rye) and the portions were skimpy. Wanted to go to ‘The Lost Cuban’ around the corner but they were closed…

I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time. I wasn’t impressed. The staff was great! My sub was mediocre at best, I think they use a sweeter mayo(like a salad dressing or something, not quite as sweet at miracle whip however), so that was the good part of her barely using any. There was honestly nothing really wrong with it but there wasn’t anything to write home about. My boyfriend got the taco salad(I would have turned it away as soon as I saw her pull out the crumbled up bag of Doritos to put on top of it, but he was fine w that). We got home to eat and the meat in his salad was cold(luke warm) and he said its the worst taco salad he’s ever had. He’s picky(even though he says he’s not) so take that in to consideration. I would give it one more shot, I’m not expecting gourmet sandwiches but this were just kinda blah. And the staff being pleasant made it better.

Probably one of the worst places I’ve ever eaten. The food was bland, overpriced, and the general atmosphere is that of a cafeteria. Skip it.
