Typical Pizza Hut menu and food at this location. Hard-working staff that is not treated well by some managers, no wonder they are short staffed at times!

I actually still really like Pizza Hut pan pizza! I know fancy-pants pizzas are all the rage, but I still prefer the simple pizzas. Visiting family, I asked if they would mind if we went to Pizza Hut — what a mistake! The service was horrible! Friendly, but seems that they were way understaffed or new, or whatever. Took a while to get our pizza and then no refills on the soda and took forever to pay for our food. We actually got up, stood behind three people in the take-out line so that we could pay and get the heck out of there. Not easy when you are with little ones and other impatient family members. Pizza was good though!

This location is definitely better than the one on Blairs Forest(by Wal-Mart). Their aren’t chintzy with the toppings, and their wings are much better — they come out of the over crispy, rather than soggy. I usually go later in the evening, but the service is pretty good. The pizza is generally up to par, if not amazing(it’s still mass market stuff, but at least they make it right). They have gotten more aggressive on pricing lately, which is good — the pizza market seems to have gotten much more competitve in the last few years, and no one was going to pay $ 16 for this kind of pizza. It’s cheaper than Godfather’s, better than other cheap stuff, and it’s one of the few places you can still get cheap pizza and eat it in the restaurant.

Why do people still eat this crap? Ok, this is going to be more a review of Pizza Hut in general, not so much this location specifically. There was a day when Pizza Hut was very good. Not anymore. Not by a long shot. Pizza Hut keeps tweaking their prices to compete. They also keep tweaking their recipe accordingly. They claim they don’t, but anybody who has been paying attention over many years knows better. It keeps getting worse and worse and worse. I’ll ask again, why do people keep eating this crap? Because it’s cheap? Because it’s «safe»(in the sense that the crap you know is «safer» than the crap you don’t know)? Stop it, people! If you keep buying their crap product, they think they’re doing ok and they’ll keep making a crap product. FWIW: The service at this location is very good. Only the pizza sucks, but they have to go by a corporate recipe, so that’s not their fault.
