John’s Coffee Shop

I eat her once a week or so, usually getting eggs or an omelet since I’m gluten intolerant. They’re aware of my issue and even have gluten free toast. It’s prompt, clean and friendly. The food is good. It’s an excellent example of a simple coffee shop. If that’s what you’re after you won’t be disappointed. Friendly staff.

Very friendly atmosphere, fast service, and good food! You get great customer service here and it always has a very relaxing vibe. It’s never really packed and it’s never really empty. The food is very reasonably priced and the location is convenient for train travelers. Overall definitely a joint worth a visit!

Dine or Ditch?
Dine… It’s a coffee shop… The One with coffee in Cedarhurst (Friends… outdated? Sorry)
I’ve been going here for quite some time and much like Friends we basically have a reserved table, so I’m just going to give a basic rundown because I couldn’t possibly go over any individual experience at this point (certainly not my first).
The service is very friendly. Very coffee shop. At this point we walk in and we’re the Norm from Cheers. Mark (the owner) and the wait staff really get to know you. They have always been hospitable and talkative no matter who we sit with. Mark is also a responsible owner and really tries to cater to the customers needs. On the rare occasions I have had an issue with my meal he has been quick to get me something new or take it off the tab. He’s really trying to make sure you get the best experience possible.
As for the food, it is what you would expect. Don’t come looking for 5-​star cuisine, but as for a quick lunch at a coffee shop it’s just right. I’ve really had almost everything on the menu… chicken salad, the Lou (a delicious salad with chicken and avocado), the Nelson (a brisket sandwich with mozzarella and cole slaw), the burger, the chicken sandwiches, eggs, specials… everything. Everything I’ve had as been pretty good.
Overall, just go in with the right mindset and you’ll be happy. Grab a cup of coffee and eat a little something and just sit and relax with some people. If you have good company the food will go along nicely.
