A day without the kids. My wife and I decided to stop by for some drinks and appetizers. $ 75 latter I can say I rented the food. Personally I thought it was funny when my wife had to destroy the bathroom at the Prominade Shops on the way back to the car, but my amusement quickly waned when I had to make a pit stop on the way home and blow up Harbor Frieght’s bathroom. I guess I should have been wiser when the bruschetta showed up in a plastic martini glass.

My husband and I went there for cocktails and appetizers in the afternoon. We got the chips and 3 dips and the bruschetta. We rented the food. Thankfully we found restrooms at the promenade!

Good food, nice setting but the slowest service ever. 90 minutes for an app and burgers?!

Nice atmosphere on a warm day and filled with knowledgeable servers. I recommend coming here for a good martini to end the day right

The food here is terrible. There are no healthy options to be seen on the menu. I ordered the voodoo chicken. The chicken had a rubber like consistency and was fatty. I think if you’re going to eat here I would stick to the burgers. I will not be returning to this place

I go on Tuesday nights for the $ 5.00 burgers. Normally they are around $ 11.00. The burgers are good. One problem, it is extremely loud, with the music blasting and people talking. I have to scream to my friends the whole time and its easier to just not talk at all. Each time, we have to request silverware and napkins.

The best thing this Bar Louie location has going for it is atmosphere. Been twice now and the food was sub par both times. Go for drinks. Skip the meal.

The bar is cool and they have outside tables which I love but the service was pretty bad. Our server was slow and not even a little friendly. The non alcoholic mango like drink tastes like sour orange juice– it was disgusting. We told her we didn’t like it and she didn’t even take it off the bill and left it on our table. The food was ok– calamari appetizer was good. The bruschetta appetizer was total crap. It was some toast points in a huge margarita glass with chopped tomatoes and shredded lettuce in the middle. Weird. The luigi steak sandwich was terrible. We asked how big it was because two of us shared it– it was a small size hoagie roll — the server said it was big. It was also cold which is weird since it had melted cheese on it. Seemed like it was sitting awhile. The meat was chopped low quality– like a steak um/not the sliced steak the menu described. It’s amazing that a manager would let good go out like that. Luckily we got tots — they were good :) My son had the Mac and cheese and he seemed to like it. The prices are a little high for the portion side but would have been ok if the food was good.

Nice location, easy parking, good décor, decent staff although slow to come around to check on drinks. TGIF/Applebee’s level frozen-tasting food. ‘Nuff said. We won’t be back.

Came in for a drink before a movie. The bartender talked up the Bloody Mary when I asked about it, so I decided to try it($ 10). On top was bacon, provolone, a blue cheese olive and a pickle along with the standard lemon, lime & celery. Unfortunately, the bacon had a pale gray color to it, the olive was scaly, the celery was brown and hard on top, the pickle looked like the center rotted out of it and the cheese(folded in half on the skewer) was filled with crumbs that might have been food, but I can’t be sure. The Bloody Mary itself wasn’t bad and the bartender was friendly which was slightly redeeming. I held myself back from laughing when he asked if I wanted to try the food though… Been to other locations and had great experiences(Miami and Patriot Place).

Hey look at this, something new at the promenade, the luxurious but almost forgotton gem of south mountain. Bar Louie has been in place in center valley about a year and one night after a brain meltingly awesome meal at melt, my buddy and I sauntered over to Bar Louie for drinks. Bar Louie has everything you could want, style, patrons good looking wait staff. Great cocktail and beer on tap. The waitresses sauntered and smiled doting on thier tables. It seemed to be a haven for the good life. It should be a win. The waitstaff seemed to be focused the ambiance was high energy. But it sucks. The bar staff, all but one of them, suck so much they will single handly shut the joint down. Another victim of piss poor mgmt. So sad, the valley always bombs on customer service not content. Millions of dollars wasted because the kids are left unsupervised. We came in and hit the bar. Easter holiday Friday night, a smatterring crowd of maybe 60 patrons. Yay! Thats not bad for center valley. Our bearded bartender didnt greet or pour you us drink for 20 minutes, another bartender eventually felt sorry and came by to pour some tasty but alchohol free beverages. Let me be clear there were 4 bartenders, and 10 patrons at the bar. This was not about busy ness, this was arrogance and.insanity. Tender after tender played with each other, slap asses and jokes while they avoided all. our eyes, pleading for a drink. They ignored multiple hand waves and voices and ignored the 6 people 5 ft away from them looking to spend money, not just these two well heeled patrons, but a table of dude bros waving cash, and several older golf lovers who needed refills. I can’t comment on the food as we were stuffed and the kitchen was closed. But what a horrible bar staff, not exagerating, they sux. We began joking together around the bar, that something must be wrong with us. Maybe this business doesnt need the money. Maybe its about race. I still dont know what we did wrong. Theu sure served us quickly and politely downtown 30 minutes later. We fled to Bell Hall. Seriously, get a manager that works weekends. Fire everyone behind the bar. Grow up, the valley needs pros that pour smile and stay focused. There is tons of talent and while melts staff leaves a lot to be desired they sure know how to say hello within 20 minutes.

Meh … It’s really the only place close to our house that has that casual pub style feel where you can get a Kraft beer and some apps. I’ve been here 3 – 4 times and it’s great that the staff all enjoy working with each other however, I think the bartenders need to be a little more aware of their customers needs. We sat and watched 3 of them chatting each other up for at least 5 mins while we were sitting at bar with empty drinks. I’m all for co-workers having a good time I just think they should focus their positive energies onto the customers. The staff seems like they are disconnected. Maybe it’s their age & lack of being present or in the moment. A note to the chef: multi-grain bread with seeds and oats is a little too sophisticated for a Bar Louie kids grilled cheese sandwich.

$ 64 for eight drinks while waiting for a table. 4 beers and 4 cocktails, no food. Very pleasant service, however. We started with an order of their hottest wings. No that hot and slightly undercooked so not nearly crispy enough. Blue cheese dressing was bland. Pork tacos were OK. Fresh corn tortillas were the highlight. Salad entrée was meh, too much iceberg lettuce. Burgers looked good but our dining companions did not rave about them. Fries looked fresh cut. Prices are reasonable aside from the drinks. Food bill was $ 70 including tip.

Ehh. Kinda disappointing to say the least. Even with the poor reviews here I thought I’d try to prove them wrong. My girlfriend and I stopped in this past week for dinner and drinks before a movie. We walked in and the first thing we noticed was it was pretty dark in the place. I understand its a bar but it seemed like a Morton’s Steakhouse with how dark it was! We were quickly met by a hostess who sat us at a booth against the back wall near the bar. Our server who I think was Jennie came over within a minute or so to take our drink order. The drink menu had no prices listed which is never a good sign. My girlfriend ordered a Pineapple Express Sangria and me a diet coke. I know how exciting! We already glanced at the menu and decided to order our food right away as well. We decided on the chicken nachos($ 11.25) to share as an appetizer. She ordered the sesame chicken lettuce wraps($ 10.95) and I ordered the California chicken club with fires($ 11.45). My girlfriends drink came our and was garnished with a large pineapple chunk which made the presentation nice. And just for the wise guys out there my diet coke was fine, thanks! The chicken nachos came out within 10 minutes which was great but I’ve had better. The chips themselves are your typical restaurant cantina chips which were ok. The nachos weren’t very hot or even warm. The cheese and chicken was also lacking which is pretty important stuff! There was also queso, black beans, jalapeño, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream on them. Cold and lacking much flavor it was disappointing. And the fact chicken nachos with hardly any chicken or cheese were $ 11.25 was an absolute joke! The lack of chicken and cheese or not, they still shouldn’t be $ 11.25. Our meals came out fairly quickly. The lettuce wraps were do it yourself. They give you the lettuce and you have to add the ingredients to make your wrap. Not my style but whatever. She said they were«ok». My California chicken club was another story. It was completely undercooked which with poultry can be dangerous! The bread was so greasy it almost seemed they had dipped it in the deep fryer. It was disgusting! My hands were covered in grease attempting to east my sandwich. The chicken breast on the sandwich was so small it could’ve been used for maybe half the sandwich! According to the menu there should’ve been avocado and«smoked onion ranch» on it. There was NOAVOCADO, of course the most expensive thing on the sandwich. Not sure if this was coincidence or not. If the«smoked onion ranch» was on the sandwich I certainly couldn’t tell either. Yikes! I didn’t know you could mess up a chicken sandwich so badly! My girlfriend ordered a second drink which appeared slightly different in color to the first but tasted fine. Perhaps a different bartender made it who knows? The only reason this place deserves two stars is because Jennie the waitress was very good and the drinks were very tasty! Yes, I did try the Pineapple Express Drinks my girlfriend ordered and was actually surprised given the rest of our experience. When receiving our check I noticed the drinks were $ 10/each! Now I know why the prices weren’t print in the menu. In total the bill for the two of us came to $ 58.52 + $ 12.00 tip(20%) = $ 70.52. I actually felt sorta ripped off. Bottom line is I will not recommend Bar Louie to anyone! The food was bad, very bad and over priced for what you got. I read a review by a fellow Unilocaler who stated his wife became ill after eating here. Fortunately that did not happen to me, but this is could be the result of the undercooked food or sanitary issues! If not for our server Jennie and the quality of the drinks they would deserve 0 – 1 stars! Save your money and avoid this place!

Pros: decent beer selection Decent food selection Nice sized booths/tables Cons: Service is awful Food is undercooked Fruit fly central Cleanliness is lacking This is the 2nd time we’ve tried Bar Louie in Promenade shops. I held back on my review the first time since it just opened & figured it may take a bit to get things in order. But the second experience was just as bad as the first. The service is terrible. Our waitress was very nice, but slow & seemed confused by our questions/requests. There were other waitresses running around with inappropriate halter tops for a restaurant. There were fruit flys surrounding our table, which just grossed us out. The lettuce wraps came out with the worst looking lettuce I’ve ever seen. My children’s sliders were massively undercooked, especially for a kids burger. And when we got home, my wife was sick! On top of all of that, the place is pretty expensive as well. Really disappointing experience & we will not be back. There are too many good restaurants in the Valley to step foot in the place again.

Terribly disappointing. Stopped in on a Saturday early evening for cocktails and a bite to eat. The cocktails are $ 10 ea not listed on the menu and considering the other restaurants in the Promenade I figured they would be decent. Wrong– my Manhattan was soapy tasting and had no flavor and the old fashioned ordered was too sweet. We decided to order appetizers. The menu was underwhelming typical chain type foods so I ordered the lettuce shrimp wraps and they were awful– the lettuce was too small, they were not pre assembles and the sauce for the shrimp was overly soy based out of a container stirfry sauce with little to no ginger. The Thai sauce and mustard were generic restaurant sauces and awful. We also ordered the soft pretzel appetizer– again terrible. The pretzels were obviously baked from frozen and the cinnamon butter sauce was still cold butter and not even able to dip into. It accompanied more generic honey mustard and cheese sauce. If you are in the mood for subpar overpriced drinks and frozen restaurant wholesale supply quality dishes Bar Louie is for you. It’s an underwhelming TGI Fridays experience with worse food.

For a bummer of a dining experience from start to finish, try Bar Louie! The horrid ordeal begins with a corral of confused restaurant goers right inside the door. Some are waiting to speak to the hostess, some are waiting to be paged that a table is ready and some are waiting to be seated after they’ve been texted that their table is ready(an unfortunate means of communication if you’re say, my aging mother or the sweet elderly couple in front of me, who doesn’t text.) Once we’re seated, we wait. It’s a Saturday and they’re busy, I get it. But this just seems like a poor staff to table ratio. We order a beer and a water each. We wait 10 minutes for our beers. The loaded tots appetizer arrives after a bit. It’s loaded alright – there’s so much cheese sauce on this platter that only the tots around the edge are edible. The rest of the tots break down under the weight of the cheese. It’s basically soup. Disgusting soup. The main course: This is basically a burger joint. I order cheeseburger sliders. When they arrive, they’re cooked about medium rare, a bit under for my taste, especially since I was never asked how I wanted them. They are flavorless. When the meal starts to wrap up, the distracted waitress makes her way to our table and asks if we need anything else. We say we’ll take some takeout containers and the check. 10 minutes go by and she comes over with the boxes. Now, every restaurant has a different protocol when it comes to boxing food – some take your food away and bring it back to you ready to go, others simply hand you a box. This waitress rummages around our table, finds my girlfriend’s butter knife and attempts to spatula my burgers off the plate and into the box. I can tell she sees the look on my face and realizes that if she touches my food with her hands, I’m gonna be pissed. So she just tries to flop my leftover sliders into the box. One burger makes it. The other plunges to the floor. She embarrassingly offers to have the cook make 2 fresh burgers and bring them out ready to go. I agree but should have just asked to have them taken off the bill. 15 more minutes go by until she returns with the new burgers. In short, don’t waste your money and don’t waste your time at Bar Louie.

I’ve been to Bar Louie in Pittsburgh multiple times and was excited to hear they’ve made their mark in the Lehigh Valley. Boasting great happy hour deals and a solid $ 5 burger night, Bar Louie is quickly becoming the Valley’s go-to upscale bar restaurant. Located where Shula’s steakhouse used to be, BL is in a convenient, easy to get to location on the outside of the Promenade Shops. Parking is abundant, although during the week of Christmas, it was a bit of a challenge. We had a reservation for a party of 10 which was a smart move because the wait for a table at the time was 60 – 90 minutes. Our waitress was very attentive and balanced her table load well. As I said, we had a a large group, so the service is going to seem a bit slow because of the sheer volume of drinks/food that has to be brought out each time. If you are hoping that the waitress is going to be checking on you every 5 minutes, go to a five-star fine dining restaurant and pay those crazy prices, not a busy bar with good food deals and cheap drinks. Since this location is new, they are probably working out some kinks in the system. That being said, our waitress was very pleasant and willing to help. Great service experience. BL has a great selection of craft and big-box beer. I had a New Belgium Flat Tire and Goose Island Urban Wheat. Both were great. BL’s happy hour includes $ 3.25 drafts, $ 4.25 wine, and $ 5.25 martinis. All are great deals. The food was also high-quality. We started with several of the half-price appetizers and a flatbread. The bruschetta and the spinach and artichoke dip were some of the best I’ve had. The flatbread was a roasted vegetable flatbread and was easy to eat. I didn’t care too much for the salsa/queso/guacamole trio, but that’s just me; everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy it. The food came out quickly for our large party. Most of us got the $ 5 burger deal(all burgers on the menu, $ 5, 5pm to close, on certain days). I had the steakhouse burger with jalapeños, blue cheese, mushrooms, and peppercorn. It was hot and juicy like a burger should be; cooked a little longer than it should have been, but definitely had not been sitting under any heat lamps(BL is known for bringing the food right out and not using lamps anyway). Fries were pretty typical. Most of our party finished their meals, but we were a hungry crew. Overall: great quality food for the price. I would definitely recommend Bar Louie and will hopefully return soon!

The food itself was Fantastic… The drinks were Amazing … The service from the Hostess to the Server HORRIBLE. That is why they get a 3… Extremely slow, has two ask for water 3 times, took 25 minutes for server to come to the table. The food was hot & very good … The menu selection was spit on to meet a number of different types of people. Took 50 to 60 minutes for sandwiches to arrive. Which was entirely too long when the restaurant has maybe ¼ of the tables filled. I will try this restaurant again … I hope the. Ad service was a one time issue.

We came down during happy hour on the opening day. Had some great bar food and appetizers. Prices were reasonable, ambience was very nice and even though this was the first night open. the service was great and very attentive. Did not try and entrees however the burger I had was well made.
