My fellow Midwesterners– do not come to this establishment. You will be so disappointed. My boyfriend and I drove up from Provo because I missed Steak and Shake from home. I was horribly disappointed. The burgers were horrible. Like the taste reminded me of McDonald’s burgers. The patties were flavorless and the bun was soggy and almost non-existent. The fries were also flavorless. The shake was the only redeeming part of the whole experience. The atmosphere is nothing like a traditional Steak and Shake, the menu is only half there, the staff is rude and half of the restaurant is a market. Trust me, I hoped the other reviewer me were wrong. They weren’t. I wouldn’t come here if it was down the street. It ruins what Steak and Shake actually is. This place is kinda the worst.

First off. The first shake I got there was refreshing and tasty. Note the operative word SHAKE. The second time it was devolving into a bucket of soft ice cream. NOT A SHAKE! I want a shake just like the shake that tickled dear old Dad. If I want soft ice cream, I’ll get a Blizzard. Also, they have one size fits all cups and they are way too small for the very big price. While everything tasted good, it was way to expensive and the menu was quite small. Sadly, the staff was not properly trained and completely unprepared for the long awaited opening. I have been back a total of five times. No more. Frankly, I think the owner/management needs to be replaced. They have a good long hot dog. Onions raw or cooked. And mustard if you ask. It appears the owner management did their job and got out of the way.

My husband and I were excited to learn of a Stake and Shake coming to Centerville. My husband is from Chicago so Steak and Shake is his thing! We were very disappointed with the menu and the lack of choices. The Steak and Shakes we love are actual restaurants, with waitresses and full menus, ie: salads, sandwiches, more burger choices, etc. Service wasn’t great and burgers were extra greasy. While this Steak and Shake is just okay, we would much rather go to Five Guys or In and Out. It’s sad… This Steak and Shake just doesn’t live up to a real Streak and Shake.

Boooo! Bad time bad taste. Ice in my milk shake and the most average burger I ever has.

I’ve only come here to buy the shake. They Only have one size which is almost $ 5! However the cashier lady was nice enough to give us 3 small cups so my 3 kids could share and have their own cups. Shake was good, just a little too expensive for my comfort. But Overall, good experience!

I came into this with high expectations and was disappointed. I got the double n fries and it was disappointing. The bun was soggy and the burger didn’t have any flavor. The burger tasted like I had pan fried ground hamburger from the grocery store and left it completely unseasoned. It took 20 minutes to get my burger and fries. The girl who took my order was wearing sunglasses and didn’t smile at all which I found to be very unprofessional for someone on the front lines. Bottom line: Steak ‘n’ Shake was edible, but the burgers here are bested by McDonald’s, Burger King, In’N’Out, Five Guys, Johnny Rocket’s, Carl’s Jr, and even Arctic Circle. The customer service was worse than anything I have experienced including pas run-ins with Comcast. Drive an extra three minutes and go someplace worth your $ 5.

I grew up in Indiana and loved this place. Every time I visit the Midwest I make sure to stop at Steak and Shake. However, this one is missing two key items, Chili 5 Way and cheese for the fries. Please add those items to the menu and my rating will go up. I really want Stake and Shake to succeed in Utah.

I’ll just start off by saying this isn’t a normal steak n shake. They just have a simplified menu, and only a few shake selections. If you’ve ever been to a regular one, it may be a but disappointing, but it is still delicious food. I’d recommend it to anyone.

The menu is a fraction of the size of the normal Steak n Shake menu. The food is ok. The service is horrendous. I was the only car in the drive thru this morning and it took about 10 minutes to get one breakfast sandwich. They did not even apologize when I was clearly mad. Don’t bother going here.

The burgers are insanely good AND they are open on Sunday… in Davis County. Thank God for you Steak n’ Shake.

I found it to be very tasty. Think In ‘n Out but better fries. Everything seemed good to me. The menu is small but hopefully it’ll grow.

This is brand new to Utah. The burger was very tasty but the shake is made of some icy substance that does not resemble ice cream. The service was very slow and they forgot the food order of the couple with us. Hopefully they’ll empty the garbage soon! I’d also like to see the catsup dispenser work(out of order) See photo. I’ll wait a while and then give it another try. Off to a rough start.

I’ve been hearing about Steak ‘n Shake from my Indiana and Chicago friends for years! I was surprised when I learned Centerville was getting the first location! Happy that the location was just around the corner from me! Finally got to give it a try last week. I had the Double Steakburger and Cheese, along with fries. It was good! No a huge fan of the fries, but I’m a french fry snob! ;) I loved the Frisco sauce with my fries though. We will definitely be back again!

My husband and I wanted to get a quick shake so we decided to go through the drive thru. What a disappointment. There was one car ahead of us. Already at the window. And we only ordered one strawberry shake. We waited 10 minutes before we were able to pull up to the window. Expecting our shake would already be made. and they would hand it to us. But instead, we watch the girl making our shake for 5 minutes as she stops every 30 seconds to talk to another employee standing at the counter. So for 15 minutes of waiting, we get a strawberry shake that tastes more like vanilla. And our cup had a crack in it all the way down to the bottom. Spilling everywhere. We didn’t even drink half of it before having to toss it in the garbage. We probably won’t waste our time going there again.

Would give it 5 stars gor the burgers and fries, but due to the limited menu it gets 4. If they add the garlic burger and cheese for the fries the stars will go to 5. For the people whining about the drive through, have you actually been to a steak n shake? They are usually a dine in restaurant and not McDonalds.

If your familiar with Steak ‘n Shake back in the Midwest, your going to be disappointed. No condiments on the table. I asked for the seasoning salt and was told it’s for sale. No peppers they need to step it up for me to come back. I’ll give them a few months to work out the bugs and give a follow up. Staff could also benefit from customer service training.

For a limited menu, they’re good. I think most Steak ‘n Shake fans were very disappointed, mainly my father who has been a fan since the 60’s during his college days in IL. He couldn’t get his beloved orange freeze and chili three way. They have the best chili ever! I really hope they open a full service restaurant nearby. It would do so well! Anyway, if you go during their less busy times, the food is awesome. Love their shakes! Just wish they had all the flavors to choose from.

5 stars because I don’t have to hear people yap about stupid in-n-out burger anymore, hopefully. When I heard about Steak and Shake I looked at the menu online and was excited for all the mouth watering options. They opened and it is a very limited menu. I was really bummed. I didn’t like the shakes. They were melted. The Frisco was yum and my husbands Burger was clean, neat and tasty as well. A nice flavor on both. The fries are crispy and salted just right. It opened 2 days ago and anyone complaining about the wait should probably stick to microwave burritos alone at home since they don’t understand how grand openings work. Utah loves to support new food so expect it anywhere. It’s not just steak and Shake

So it has only been a day and we have already come to terms with the fact that, we would still much rather have the burgers that we ate last night over any other fast food close to the house. I am very happy that we made this choice because tonight’s expierience was much better! I went in instead of the drive through and at most waited 10 minutes from walking in the door. It was still really busy but they did great! Also, very friendly person working at the register. Last but not least, the double burger was great! Great taste, perfect amount and the fries were fantastic. I am definitely happy and will return. Once they add a few more of the flavors and condiments they will get a 5 star from me but for now they rate the 4. Thank you to the staff and I look forward to things getting even better. (Also I got coffee this morning at the gas station and the Manager was awesome)

First things first: this location has a limited menu. It shares its space with a gas station and convenience store, so you should expect as much. However, if you’re a fan of Steak ‘n Shake, you will likely be some degree of disappointed with the selection. I’ve attached the complete Centerville menu(in the off chance it changes later on, it is also available at ). If you compare that with the«regular» menu, you’ll have an idea of just how limited it is. With that out of the way — I thought the food was pretty good. It’s about on the level of other fast-food restaurants taste– and price-wise(under $ 10 a person, even with shakes). Seating is limited, though I don’t think it’ll be an issue as the restaurant ages. The staff was well-trained(3 out of 3 correct orders, in my case) and friendly enough. It was their grand opening, so it was predictably hectic, but the management was apologetic and willing to work with customers. I’ve heard from a few sources(including the managers in Centerville) that this is only the first of about a dozen Steak ‘n Shake locations planned for Utah. I was impressed enough with the basic stuff served here that I’m excited to see what a «real» Steak ‘n Shake looks like. In a nutshell — don’t get too hyped up about«the first Steak ‘n Shake in Utah». It’s still a «limited» fast food restaurant in a gas station. The food and service is good, not great. Can you really expect much more?
