We’re roadtrippin’ and stopped here to let the kids get out energy. What a great find. There is plenty of parking– even found a place for our truck/trailer. It’s the perfect spot on a hot day for the kids to play. The playground had shady spots even at midday and the sprinklers and sand areas were a hit with all my kids.

This has to be my favorite park in the area. It has features like a 0.6 mile(approx 1 km) walking trail which is wide enough for runners, joggers, walkers to go about their business without getting in each other’s way. It’s kid friendly with playground in the middle as well as pet friendly, it also has plenty of benches along the trail as well as in the middle of the park. I’ve spotted a bunch of grilling areas and a tennis court as well. All these qualities make it an amazing park!

Small but cute. Bbq places, tennis courts, other facilities. Also playground for kids. Next to Jarlings the best ice cream

One of the better parks in the area. They have a sprinkler area for the hot weather days, a sandbox, plenty of pavilions, and restroom facilities. I used to play ball there years ago, but I haven’t done that in a long time. They do have some tennis courts that seem nice. Good place for a picnic… word of advice — if you expect to get a pavilion(you can’t rent them) go very early to lock down the location, especially on grilling in holidays, like Memorial Day, Labor Day, or the Fourth. This park fills up quickly.

Great park. Lots of room to play a sport, run around, walk dog, take a walk, jog, and even a small playground with water sprinklers. Water operates from 11 – 3 then from 5 – 7 everyday during the summer. My son loves it. A few weeks ago they posted a sign saying that wasps were burrowing themselves in the playground sand. So that’s not good. The water sprinklers during the summer run from 11am-3pm and from 5pm-7pm.

A great park for a picnic, but it can fill up fast in good weather. They have tennis courts, a huge playground, a pavillion, a baseball diamond and many, many grills and mini-pavillions/gazebos. A big plus is the excellent parking.

I just walked the .6 mile trail around the park 3 times today. This is close to my work so I can go and walk around the park during my lunch. Today was a beautiful day to enjoy the weather. Hessel park is 26.9 acres with a .6 mile walking trail around it. Inside the park are various places to sit and eat, a tennis court and a play area for kids. In the summertime the play area has a water feature in the playground so the kids can get wet. There is also a good mix of shade and sun areas. Great place to walk on my lunch. I dropped a star because sometimes there are bus loads of high school or middle school kids that take over the trail. Depending on the time of day and time of year.
