Kim’s Alterations

Let me tell you about this funny, delightful little woman, Kim. I recently wore out my credit card at a men’s store Going Out of Business sale and brought several pairs of slacks to her shop in mid-​December to have cuffs done.
«When you need them back?» she asked suspiciously.
«I’m in no hurry,» I replied. «After the first of the year?»
«OK,» she said. «Just so you don’t want them before Christmas. Everybody want before Christmas!»
I took my receipt, went home and thought no more about it. The NEXT WEEK, I get a call saying all my pants were ready. «How can this be?» I asked, incredulously. «I thought you were swamped.»
«I see pants. I thought you should have for New Year’s Eve,» she said.
They were hemmed expertly, and woefully underpriced. (I gave her a big Christmas tip!) I would recommend Kim without hesitation to anyone looking for a caring, professional tailoring job.

Kim was kind enough to pick up the phone on a Sunday, the day before my son’s Commissioning ceremony. The original tailor did not complete the job and Kim took it on and did a wonderful job of adding the cuff bands and shoulder board tabs to his dress uniform. Highly recommended for the great work and for her helpfulness in getting us through our crisis.

Kim is a very sweet lady. She only accepts cash as of right now. Her work is great! Altering clothes is a very time consuming and patient task, so sometimes there can be mishaps.
I recently picked up a premium DKNY suit. I do have a muscular build, so finding dress clothes can be a hassle sometimes. I took my suit to her to get altered and I have loved the results that I got back. It’s like the suit was specifically made for me. Everything from the fitment, to the length was perfect.
I highly recommend trying out her alterations if you need something done. Highly recommend!

I had a brand new suit I had bought for an upcoming wedding that I need to have altered. I had no clue where to go. Kim’s Alterations was the closest to my home and had a few positive reviews.
So incredibly happy I chose to give her a chance.
Not only was she very very nice and outgoing, she has a true understanding of what she does. She listened to every concern I had and gave good feedback. She also understood exactly what I wanted to get done and had a few recommendations of her own.
In the end I only had the pants hemmed and slightly altered, as the jacket fit quite well. Her price was very fair and she was also very accommodating to my time constraints. Her work looks fantastic and by all indications will hold up for a long time. It is very important to me to have high quality alterations, by keeping it to a one man operation, she insures that she can pay close attention to each detail and is accountable for any mistakes.
I don’t think I’ll be using anyone other than Kim’s Alterations from now on. I can’t tell you how pleased I am with her and her work.

Kim only takes cash and works alone. She is the sweetest ever. I walked in and she asked me, «when do you need it back?» «Whenever,» I said. She informed me that «whenever» to her translates to months… years…
so I said, «um…as soon as you can have it done, then?» She told me two weeks and sweetly explained that she is the only one who works in the shop. She told me a couple of funny anecdotes about other people who had told her to «take as long as you need.»
Only four days later, I got a voicemail from Kim saying that she had finished my skirt. I mean, I had to listen to the voicemail four times before I knew who was calling me and what they were saying… but when I DID figure out it was Kim, I was impressed that my skirt was done much earlier than she had originally stated.
I highly recommend Kim. What a neat lady!
