First walking into this establishment it seems like a really nice place. They changed a lot and the upkeep looks nice. But with that being said there’s always a little bad with the good. For starters, when we ordered our hookah there was stuff floating around in the water that looked like fish food. The gentleman serving us seemed a little irritated about changing the water when we ask him to. Towards the end of our evening, they were very eager to kick us out even though they close at 2. The man came by 3 times to get the check that he gave to us early without us asking for it. He stood around and hovered over us. I am disappointed with this service and not sure if I will be returning.

I’ve been coming to this place on and off for over 7 years and it has always been one of my favorite hookah bars in Northern Virginia. They definitely know how to make a great hookah which is rare at most places. The food and customer service are also excellent and prompt. If you’re ever in the area and craving some hookah or some good middle eastern food this is the place to check out!

No doubt this place is one of the amazing places here in the nova/Chantilly area. They have nice hookahs. They serves them with natural coals which makes it the only place here in this area that still sticks to serving authentic hookahs middle eastern style. And not to forget mentioning their food menu, which consists of traditional juicy, mouth watering authentic middle eastern food. I tried their beed shawarma, it was outstanding, also I tried their mix grill. It was delicious and filling. And since I took the time and the energy to review this place since I only review establishments if I really like them, or I really hate them. I would like to stop by the great friendly costumer service experience they offer here. The guy(I believe his name is Moe) is always welcoming, and he checks on my table along my visit to make sure everything is going well. Lastly, I would definitely go back to alf again and again, and I would recommend everybody to give it a try.

If the other restaurant is closed then this one soon will be too; especially after what I experienced at lunch time today. The server was — OK. The food was not like it used to be, the menu changed drastically, and I convinced a coworker to go to this place and I was apologetic and embarrassed. They used to have an _Buffet_{more like an All You Can Eat serving} of kabobs with rice and it was well priced for what you received in portion sizing. Now, this place is going down hill and my coworker and I decided we are definitely not going back to this place. :-( P. S. They must stay in business because of the Hookah, because it surely isn’t the service or food that keeps them in business.

More like a 2.5. So… I have a love-hate relationship with Alf Laylah. Really I come here far too often because I live so close by… But it is hands down the WORSTSERVICE you will get in your life. Unless you know the people who work there… Which I don’t… Nor do I want to since they are so effing rude! You need to order a drink with hookah. And if you don’t, they will give you a $ 5 bottle of water. Regardless of the crappy service, the hookah is decent enough and because it is so close, I return anyway. It’s like a bad ex you’ve gotten way too comfortable with! Damn you alf laylah! *shakes fist in air* Anywho, the food is meh. They put a garlicky sauce in their shawarma and gyros instead of tzaziki(sp??), and it’s way too garlicky for my taste. Never order the chocolate cake unless you like to eat brown colored chalk. The hummus is redeeming… ONLY on days where they actually get the pita bread soft(it’s been hard as rock sometimes as well). Fries are good. Stick to the fries. Hookah Flavor suggestions– blue mist and double apple. Double apple? I know I know. It’s like the rookie flavor. But for my Indians out there, for whatever reason, their double apple tastes like paan! So money! Oh and they have outdoor seating! Which is pretty nice in the summertime. But the server will NEVER come out again. So make sure you order absolutely everything the first time they come around. Like if you want to actually eat. Or don’t plan to see food. So go to alf laylah if you live in the area, are really in the mood for hookah, and are okay being ignored all night by your server and are okay with constantly having to walk up to them to get anything ordered. Enjoy! :)

I come here often because its close to my house. Ideally, not my fav location, but when coming with a group of at least 4⁄5 its fine. They have a policy that when ordering just hookah, each person has to get a drink. Sometimes they don’t enforce it, usually depends on who is running the place at the time, and of course what time you go. Hookah prices around 18 for a multitude of flavors, and you can ask them to put it in a Khalil, otherwise they’ll give you one of those generic not so good pulling hookahs. Flavor is decent enough, and they give you 2 extra coals and tongs. I prefer this cuz I don’t have to wait for anyone. They have a good amount of flavors so thats also good. I don’t usually like ordering food from here mainly because their prices are a bit too high for me. I usually just come here for the hookah and chilling. They DO serve drinks here though.

The hookah is usually pretty good and I have never had a problem, with it hitting nicely. At this place they give you a disposable plastic hose. I much prefer a standard hose with a plastic tip. I never understood the appeal of the plastic hoses but I suppose they work in a pinch. The turkish coffee is very good and you can get a huge pot of is for a great price. The pot has about 6 small cups in it. The décor seems a bit dated and could use a facelift. Some of the couches and coffee tables are falling apart. I haven’t really tried the food here but everything that i see come out of the kitchen smells amazing so I will most likely get something to eat in the not too distant future.

This place truly sucks, and If i can I’d give them 0 stars. I’ve been there only once, and It was on a Friday night, and the first thing that I get from the person who works there is «Oh hey, sorry you can’t sit here in this seat for too long, because I have people coming over later». Mind you that the place was semi empty, with only 3 people inside. I didn’t mind that, because I was with company so I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Let’s jump to the hookah, It is TERRIBLE. They have limited flavors, and use the cheapest kind of quick light coals, plus they give you two other coals, so you can light them up yourself!!! Excuse me?!! Where’s the already lit and ready coals that all the decent hookah bars have? Plus their prices are way over priced. $ 18 for a crap hookah, NOTHANKYOUKINDSIR. Avoid at all costs.

This place is horrible. They had no drinks. The service was pathetic. The waiter did not even get our drinks, he comes back after 30 mins and said they were out of vodka. The tables were dirty. The furniture was very old. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This is a last resort kind of place for hookah. If you’re in the area and don’t feel like traveling far, then this is it. They’re overpriced on tobacco and coals. The environment and ambience is like a D– Its just old tables that have been sitting there for years. I wish they’d make the place nicer. It’s always empty there, few of the tables filled. I say, just go somewhere else. The food isn’t that great either. It’s just a «okay» place for smoking. That’s it Expect weird empty crowds all the time. Usually the high school-ers see it as the«hot spot», which is why I avoid it.

I’ve been to this place several times over the past couple years. Initially, the service was okay and the Shisha was also reasonable. They occasionally asked for a cover charge, too. The past few times however, were a different story. I went one night after a birthday celebration with a group of 5 people. The place was empty, nowhere near busy and they waiter came to our table several times, insisting that we all must buy drinks. I understand if the place was packed and people were waiting in line to get tables, but the place was empty and he kept hassling us. Then we ordered water at 4 $ a bottle which i thought was outrageous. Also, the Shisha has always been mediocre at best. On this particular night, I asked for Blue Mist, which I’ve been smoking for 4+ years at several different places. This time they brought me something that didn’t taste remotely like Blue Mist, and then refused to fix it, telling me I was wrong. Also, I’m a tea drinker and their mint tea is terrible. They use dried mint instead of fresh mint, which makes it bitter and no amount of sugar helps. Overall, I won’t be back again. There are several other shisha bars in the area that I’d rather spend my money at.

I didnt really like this place for hookah although food options seemed decent. The service was horribly slow and had to practically wave our arms overdramatically like an traffic controller to get service at our table. This place desparately needs more comfortable, more lounge-like seating instead of diner tables and chairs. Crowd could be better too.
