Dumplings are pretty good in taste. They are quite gracious when sending delivery orders(those dipping sauces). TIP: eat them up when they are still hot!

Hands down the best dumplings I have had. Steamed or pan fried you cannot go wrong. One serving comes with 12 dumplings and they are easily the largest dumplings that I have ever had. Nothing wimpy about these.

We happened to be in the Chantilly area and was seeking out new dining options. Spied this place and thought to give it a try after reading a few other reviewer’s comments. The restaurant is a converted sushi bar which had a good amount of seating available when we arrived. The person serving us was very quick in taking our drink orders. It took us a few moments to sort out what was on the menu since there were so many choices. We started out with the scallion pancakes while we debated on the strategy for ordering up the rest of our meal. The scallion pancakes were crispy and tasted awesome dipped in the chili oil. We settled on an order of the Beef and Napa Dumplings and the Pork and Chive Dumplings. If we were hungry we could always order more, but let me tell you this, twenty-four dumplings between three people is plenty. The wrappers on the dumplings were just right, our orders came to us steamed, for an extra dollar you can have them pan fried.(Note, at other places I have dined that have dumplings on the menu, there is usually no surcharge for how they are prepared) The flavor of the dumplings were great, complemented by the dipping sauce that you can construct using the condiments provided at the table. I did an equal of chili oil and soy for mine. All in all the experience was good, service was fast, and the cost of the meal was not prohibitive considering we were feeding a group of three. If you are in the Chantilly area, this is a good place to try out.

Place is neat and welcoming. Service was slow on Sunday for a party of 3. We ordered pot stickers, egg drop soup, beef dumplings, pan fried pork dumplings, and shrimp dumplings. The beef dumplings came out before the pot stickers did. The egg drop soup came out hot. It wasn’t bad but I’ve had better. The best dumplings(which are served in portions of 12) out of the three we ordered were definitely the pan fried pork dumplings. If it was pan fried on both sides. it would’ve been great. Be careful when you eat as the dumplings will burn your mouth if you don’t let it cool. The other two dumplings were nothing to write about. I enjoyed the pot stickers better than the beef dumplings. Probably would not come again.

Came in today after a very pleasant experience, the waitress even remembered us and knew we would take care of her. Hence this was very baffling. This trip has been nothing short of a complete nightmare. This time was a disaster(step by step here was the break down:) It took us 15 minutes to wait to get a seat.(Party of 3) They immediately took our drink orders and brought the drinks out quick. Then after 20 ish minutes we had to stop a waitress to ask if we could order because we were being ignored. We ordered 2 sides of white rice, 2 orders of dumplings(beef and chives and lili’s, both fried) and a cup of hot and sour soup. About an hour after we ordered we asked for the check having noticed everyone was getting drinks refilled, their food had come out and some had even finished after we were seated. This waitress listened and walked away then again ignored our table, I had to go tell the woman mixing the dumplings in the back I had asked for the check 15 minutes later. Still nothing, finally 20 more minutes later the original one who sat us came and said the food would be right out. This was when we saw people with the same order sat after us leaving after finishing their meal. She said the kitchen was slow and hence the issue. Due to the open curtains to the back you could see the kitchen staff and all 6 people working back there. Not only is this unacceptable but the blatant lack of respect was infuriating. We were cordial and respectful, yet no one even acknowledged any concern. This was imho very rude on behalf of the management team there to not even personally address this concern in the least. More upsetting that every non American that came in after us has been served their food and treated different was disgusting to watch. The food was pretty good but that experience and the lack of respect make us never willing to return. Such a great place, with cute décor to be wasted with such horrible service.

Their Lili dumplings are«kinda soup dumplings.» There is a little bit of broth in them, and they might be a good fix for when you crave soup dumplings without having to go to NY. Haha. In all honesty, I wish they just had a little more broth! They were still yummy though. They’re not advertised as soup dumplings so maybe I’m asking too much. I would come back for dumplings, but probably not anything else.

Dined here tonight with my mom and husband and thought the food was pretty enjoyable! Ordered their pan-fried chive dumplings with glass noodles x 2, jellyfish appetizer, beef tendon appetizer, steamed pork dumplings, and steamed egg and squash dumplings. They also gave us a free veggie appetizer which was really nice of them(maybe because my mom is a regular and knows the owner). My favorite dumplings were probably the pork ones although the egg dumplings were a close second. Because the dumplings are handmade you have to wait a bit so I’d suggest ordering an appetizer or two if you’re feeling peckish. There wasn’t a dish I didn’t enjoy and although the dumplings are obviously not as delicious/authentic as the ones you’d get in China, they are definitely the best ones I’ve had in Northern VA. I thought the servers were really nice but perhaps a bit forgetful since we had to ask for water twice. I’ll be returning to try more dumplings and other dishes as well!

It’s actually quite rare that I enjoy Chinese food. I usually find it just tastes overly processed or has a odd after taste, with over cooked veggies and fatty or tough meat. This was not the case here and I can honestly say this was some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Obviously you have to try them for what they are none for; dumplings. They have lots of dumpling options, steamed or pan fried. We got pork, pan fried. I think it was like $ 10 for an order of 12 and they are actually quite large in size, larger then most dumplings I have had in the past. We also shared a order of the orange chicken. Some of the best orange chicken I have had. Seemed very fresh and well made. The chicken was moist and tender, and still had a bit of crispness to the breeding and wasn’t soggy which was really nice. The veggies were just lightly cooked but were very fresh and yummy. Maybe I was just really hungry but the broccoli was particularly yummy. I could have just eaten a plate of that smothered in the orange sauce. I think we paid about $ 24 before tip for very generous portions. Very yummy food, highly recommend. We will certainly be back.

Been here twice to get a true gauge of the food and service here. First of all, there are only two servers so dont expect fast service and dont expect them to remember everything you tell them. When it was just myself in the restaurant service was fine and they got everything correct. Today I brought my wife and son and they forgot our hot tea and service was exceptionally slow cause it was a full restaurant. We ordered the fried chicken and mushroom dumplings, green onion pancakes, house beef noodle soup(not Taiwanese), and the Fried Ribs(Garlic and Onions) /white rice. The ribs came our first. It was fried with chinese 5 spice dry rub topped with salt, onions and garlic. It was good but kinda made me heavy eating. Then the beef noodle soup came out. It was handmade noodles(delicious) in a very light and unflavorful broth. Slices of beef, tomatoes and lots of cilantro were present in the soup. We expected a darker, fuller, beefier broth with some spices. This was not it. But again, the housemade noodles made the dish. The fried onion pancakes tasted so much more different cause these were fresh and housemade and not frozen. Crispy and light. Finally the pan fried chicken and mushroom dumplings. Very fresh tasting but could have been a little more pan fried. Get them steamed. Overall the food was good and we really appreciate the fresh housemade dishes. Just need to imrpove some dishes and definitely the service. Will stop by when in the area but wont go out of my way though.

Was looking for an alternative to China Bistro in Rockville. Didn’t feel like driving to Rockville from Herndon in rush hour for dinner so we googled this place and decided to try carry out. To my amazement the dumpling were almost exactly what we get from China Bistro. We ordered Lili’s Special dumplings and an order of beef with celery dumplings and it was yummmm. We also ordered Lili’s special fried rice which was yummy, egg drop soup, and sweet and sour soup. The fried rice was tasty with the dumpling sauce mixed in, however the soups were pretty disappointing and we ended up not eating them. Soups really lacked in taste and looked watered down. All in all I was happy with what really mattered which were the dumplings! I’ll be back for more dumplings :)

We came here on a very cold weekend day evening. It was empty except for 1 table. I was leery and turned off by the name since I wanted something other than dumplings but we went in and saw on the menu that they definitely had other things. We were warmly greeted and promptly bought a huge pot of tea. It’s an authentic mom and pop chinese snack place. We had the cantonese chicken appetizer, beef noodle soup, and lili’s dumplings; everything was extremely delicious. The chicken was served cold and was slathered with red chili sauce. The soup didn’t look too appetizing but looks can be deceiving esp with some red chili sauce added in. The noodles were handmade. They also brought us bowls to share the soup. It didn’t say on the menu whether Lili’s dumplings were soup dumplings or not but they were soupy and hubby loved them. I liked the dumplings the least of the three but it was still really good. This place is located in a huge strip mall right next to a hibachi buffet place and a chicken beer place among other places which might not be that good for it given the amount of choices and considering mainstream tastes. I hope it thrives because it is great; there should be more of these places. It was a nice surprise to randomly find this place and I highly recommend it. It’s extremely good and I will be back.

Went with a group of friends, lots of dumplings, we got seafood, beef, pork, Hunan beef, ribs, pancakes with scallions, pot stickers, all looked good. Service was good, recommended! She split the bill for us too, and no charge for tea. Was looking a bit empty, definitely not busy for a Saturday night, which seemed like a red flag. Think maybe the hibachi grill next door attracts a lot of people and maybe too much competition. The dumplings were a bit pricy, but tasty.

I went here for lunch with my sister. We got the chefs special dumplings & the zha jiang mian. The portions were large and the food was fresh. The only thing is that they charge a little more for fried dumplings so we go steamed. The dumplings had great flavor but you have to commit to a whole plateful so I recommend coming with a bunch of people so you can try a few different kinds. The service was really nice and fast, I’d definitely recommend coming here(especially since it’s next to one of my favorite coffee shops — coffee smith/cafein)

Rolled outta here feeling like a garlic breathing dragon!!! Chantilly is seriously lacking in Chinese restaurants so I was excited to try this place! Walking in, I thought, «oh wow much nicer than you would expect for a Chinese restaurant, clean floors, tables, and no weird smells!» I almost had to do a double take to see if I was in the right place haha! Let me preface my review of the food and state that my grandma and mom are dumpling making monsters! So when I tasted the pork dumplings I was underwhelmed, we got them pan fried, and the skin is just way too thick for my liking. The pork wontons in chili oil on the other hand were perfect! It was actually spicy and not just oily like most other places. There were two dishes that were very flavorful and garlicky: –Schezuan Dan Dan noodles –Cucumbers with garlic(on the salty side) These dishes were both good but on the salty side! The garlic flavor was confused for spice at first because of how potent it was. I feel for my friends that were with me, but that’s why those that eat garlic together, stay together… because that’s true friendship. The scallion pancakes didn’t have the airy light inside and focused to much on the crisp factor. I believe if one wanted to use these as a frisbee it would do some damage. I’m partial to scallion pancakes made in Hong Kong and Taiwan :-). I would like to try this place again, but I probably wouldn’t get the dumplings again and therefore can not deem this place Queen of dumplings. The service was very good for Chinese standards!!! So not a headache at all :-)

3.5 stars. I’m always looking for things on the west side of town. All the good Asian good is in Annandale or falls church. I love the dumplings from A&Js. Pan fried goodness. So I was comparing to that. We ordered the lilies special dumplings which consisted of shrimp and pork. It was decent. Then we also ordered the pork dumplings, but asked for it pan fried.(Btw, they charge you $ 1 for it to be pan fried. Lol.) that was pretty good! The da jain noodles were just eh. And the beef noodle soup was just eh too. The general tsos chicken, pretty decent. Lol. Anyway, there’s many dumplings to choose from. Lunch orders are by 10, regular orders are 12 in an order. Something for the west side of towners. Oh yeah, it took over a Japanese sushi restaurant. So they reused the soy sauce bottles. What you think is the low sodium soy sauce is actually vinegar. The red bottle is the dumpling sauce. Lol.

Dumpling Queen?! Yes, please! This was a great find near my work and far exceeded my expectations. I have tried a few things on the menu and all were fresh and delicious but what impressed me the most was the crispy fried tofu dish. Salty, crispy, spicy and not oily! Super delicious and will be on my weekly go-to. Also if you are a fan of home made pickle veggies though not visually stunning were quite tasty with hints of cinnamon. The hot and sour soup is a must as well and had the right balance of spice and texture. Service was all around good and very attentive. I’ll be back for sure!

Been here twice and sadly for me they miss the mark. Let’s talk taste. While both times I had the house dumpling 1 of pork and shrimp… Both times had a flavor able brothy inside almost like a soup dumpling. The first time I did pan fried and it had a nice crust which paired nicely. The second time I did steamed. While the insides were tasty the thick doughy covering left much to be desired. The first time I also did a entrée of pineapple and chicken. As the server had warned it is sweet but as my friends adores pineapple and it was listed as a chefs special we went for it. Yep it was sweet but it was a great combo. It was paired with a pineapple rice which for me was a bit much. Just steamed rice would actually be better. Where this fell short is it’s advertised as a pineapple boat which means it’s usually served on or in the pineapple half. She was disappointed it wasn’t. The second time with hubby we opted for the dumplings already mentioned and instead got two cold salads and the onion pancake. As a pancake the triangles were nicely cooked… Except for a couple of flakes… Where was the onion? On the cold side we got the house marinated veggies which was a nice combo of carrot, jicama, fungus… I liked but there was something in the spicing my hubby didn’t. Great more for me! The other was spicy bamboo shoots which he really liked. Now to my pet peeve… Just cause I’m Caucasian doesn’t mean you need to rush over with a fork. You don’t do it to the other patrons so don’t do that to me… On our first visit they didn’t… On the second one they did… Just frustrating as I basically feel insulted. My feeling is a place should either ask or wait till I request! I also wish that instead of a plate of 12 dumplings there was a option for a half order or a option to mix the order…

Okay came here a second time with my mom because I really liked the place when it first opened. This time though, they left my mom and I pretty disappointed. One male waiter was struggling to serve ATLEAST8 tables, all by himself. It took some time for him to come to us and we had to call him over multiple times cause we were on lunch break from work and our break was limited. I felt really bad for him at first for being so stressed but I think the restaurant should’ve been more prepared for this. I don’t understand how this place went from being 5 stars for me to now being 2 stars, and that was me being a little generous because he looked so drained from being too overwhelmed :(

Dumpling Queen is worth a try! Located in between Hibachi and Game Parlor, I first drove right by the restaurant, because they don’t have a sign up yet. When I walked into the restaurant, the interior pleasantly surprised me. Some Chinese restaurants are dark and outdated, but this establishment is bright and inviting. That along with the fast and courteous service felt very welcoming. The waitress recommended us ordering the dumplings first before our entrees. They apparently take longer to cook, however everything came out very fast. I ordered the steamed Lili’s Special Dumplings, which reminded me of soup dumplings. Reviews so far have described the dumplings as juicy. However, I thought they were rather watery(probably from the condensation of the steam). Next time, I will try the them pan-fried. Nonetheless, the outside layer was pretty good(if you’re into doughyish wraps) and the filling was good, too. I also got the special handmade noodles with shredded meat and pickled cabbage. I would recommend sharing it though, because there are a LOT of noodles. The scallion pancakes were too firm and crunchy to what I’m used to and prefer, which is light and crispy. Despite some of my personal tastes not being met, the positive aspects of my experience will lead me to come back in the future and explore the menu further.

Dumplings! Dumpling Queen may be a bit difficult to find at first since there is no sign yet. It’s in the same shopping center as Hibachi Buffet. There is plenty of seating inside, they also have counter seating. We placed our order to go. The employee who helped us was very sweet and reminded me of my aunt: D It’s neat and clean inside. We were super excited to find out on Unilocal that a new dumpling restaurant opened up in our neck of the woods. Tried the Pork Dumplings(Pan Fried) and Lili’s Special Dumplings(Steamed). Note that it’s $ 1 extra if you order your dumplings pan fried. Their dumplings are on the pricier side but what you will get are 12 pieces of large dumplings with loads of filling within each one of them. One order can definitely be shared by 2 – 3 people. I was a bit hesitant to try this place out at first because I’ve tried quite a few dumpling places in the MD and VA area and haven’t been impressed by the dumpling skin. It’s always so thick and heavy. Though, these weren’t the thinnest dumpling skin I’ve ever had, they are still much thinner than some of the others I’ve tried in the area. Dumpling Queen is owned by the same people from China Bistro in Rockville, MD. I find it funny that though I’m not a huge fan of China Bistro in Rockville, I enjoyed Dumpling Queen much more. The dumpling skin is thinner here and the filling has more flavor. Maybe I caught them on a bad day when I visited China Bistro? The filling in their Lili’s Special Dumplings is juicy, meaty, and flavorful. I highly recommend this dish. They also offer a lot of other dishes as well, which I will have to come back to try. Don’t forget to ask for chili oil and vinegar. Mix them together and dip your dumplings in it, it will add to the flavor profile of the dumplings. So glad more mom and pop shops are opening in the Chantilly area. +1 star for being so convenient!
