Duck is DELICIOUS here. Definitely recommend. Lo mein is not. Very dry and lacking in flavor. Pan fried noodles come with a LOT of sauce, but the kids seemed to like it. Beef and broccoli tasted average, I mixed that sauce with the lo mein and made it taste a lot better. The family loves ordering take out from here because it comes with a lot of authentic Chinese dishes, so I hope to try more of those than the Americanized dishes!

The food is simply magnificent. A friend selected the courses which started with the jelly fish. Yup! Jelly fish. It was tasty and a bit unbiased in its texture. Don’t fear it. Next was the beef curry. AMAZING!!! Then Hong King Style Pork Chops. Well what can be said about a deep fried chop with a perfectly spiced sweet and spicy sauce. Heaven.

Definitely better and more authentic than the average Chinese food place, but still not the best. My Chinese family tends to pick this place when we want typical Chinese food, so that says something good about them! This time, we got a carry-out order rather than dining in. The pine nut(yes, not walnut like usual) mayonnaise shrimp with pineapple was tasty but a little soggy(rather than a little crispy) probably because it had to survive the car ride home in a carryout container. The duck was yummy and typical. I only ate one piece of it and it had a lot of fat on it though. The beef chow fun was good and also very typical. The one dish that was different to me and something that I would recommend was the Chinese steak(meat in the red sauce with onions in the photo). It was very tender and scrumptious. I usually don’t like onions that are minimally cooked, but it worked in this dish!

To be honest, when I heard this place was run by the same folks from Mark’s Duck House, I was very excited since I’ve been a long time customer there. So i went there and check it out and sure enough the same owner were there, even some of the waiter that I recognized. They make some menu upgrade and I enjoyed the clay pot rice dishes very much among the regular Chinese BBQ. Only draw back I have was that the new kitchen cannot accommodate dim sum, which is a big draw at Mark’s. With that, definitely a solid 4 and its more like 4.5!

The service was great and the elder lady who greeted me and took my order was very nice. I am a lover of the roast pig with crunchy skin so I knew what I was gonna order. I also ordered a congee with preserved eggs for the girlfriend who was feeling under the weather. The only reason I came here was because it was the nearest place to get decent Cantonese food without heading to the Eden center area. The roast pig tasted like it was sitting there for a while. More than likely from the day before. The pig was cold and the crunchy skin almost broke my teeth. The skin was ridiculously hard. The congee tasted like an average congee with the preserved eggs. The Chinese crueller for the congee I ordered was also dry, stale, and hard. Can probably get better ones at Great Wall. Maybe I came on a bad day or ordered the wrong dish. Definitely getting my roast pig craving satisfied elsewhere though.

I’ve been here a handful of times, this restaurant is located in a strip mall off route 50. Bright, open area with lots a tables, no hostess/waiting area. No decorations except for a couple TV’s on the wall displaying random videos of food. Came for dinner with a few friends on mother’s day. This place was packed, only a few vacant tables that were covered with dirty dishes. We asked for a table and had to stand awkwardly in the front of the restaurant for about 10 minutes for them to clean it. They have an extensive menu of your typical Chinese dishes, but usually I stick to the Won Ton soup. Our server gave us complimentary hot tea, which was a nice touch. As usual, I ordered Won Ton noodle soup with roast pork while two of my other friends ordered Won Ton noodle soup with roasted duck and my other friend ordered Beef Chow Foon. We also decided to get the lobster special to share amongst ourselves. Our serve spoke very fast and had a thick accent, as it was extremely hard to understand her. 10 Minutes after placing the order, the server came back and told us she was out of Beef Chow Foon and recommended another dish that was similar. My friend, a little disappointed, took her recommendation. Shortly after that, the rest of us received our soups. All we had to drink was hot tea, so we all ordered water as well. As I was finishing up my soup the other noodle dish came out, 10 minutes after all of our soups came. We asked if the lobster was still coming out and she said she would check on it. As most of us were already finishing up our dinners, we were no longer interested in the lobster as we had been waiting for the lobster for over 30 minutes now. When she came back, she told us she forgot to put our order in or they had sold out; she wasn’t too sure. Also, still no waters. Won Ton noodle soup w/roast pork — Lots of won ton, meat and noodles! Good broth and some veggies. All I needed to add were some fresh hot peppers. Won Ton noodle soup w/roasted duck — Exactly the same except with duck instead of pork. Duck was crispy with little fat on it. I’m not a fan of the duck because of the amount of bones you have to pick out while trying to eat your soup. Noodle dish — I cannot remember what the name of the dish is as I could not understand what the server said the dish was. Either way, it was thin noodles with pork and shrimp tossed in a curry like sauce. Big dish but not good. Overall I’d go back just for my soup with expectations of bad service and next time I’m bringing my own water!!!

Finding Cantonese food can be hard these days. Most strip malls are filled with Americanized Chinese food so I was really hoping to find a hidden gem. Unfortunately this was not it. We ordered a variety of standard dishes and the only thing that stood out to me was the clams in black bean sauce. The clams were pretty fresh and seasoned well. The seafood fried rice was also decent since it was not too greasy like the typical Chinese fried rice you find at other Chinese restaurants. The rest of the food we ordered such as the the spareribs, fried fish, double cooked pork and beef chow fun were all pretty sub-par. The meat dishes contained a minimal amount of meat and predominantly fat. Unless you are a fan of fatty meat I would probably skip those dishes I mentioned above. The beef chow fun was extremely bland and did not have the«wok» scent to it. Authentic chow fun is cooked at a very hot temperature which causes the noodle to get a nice unique scent which was absent here. Customer service here is mediocre, pretty typical of Asian places so I would not expect much. However I personally experienced a defensive attitude from a waiter. My girlfriend’s parents had wanted to try the beef chow fun after we placed the initial order so we waved a waiter down. Initially I spoke English and he didn’t understand what we wanted so I switched to my native tongue(Cantonese). I assumed he understood and moments later he came back with a beef fried rice. I then told him this was not what we ordered and he became extremely defensive raising his voice at me in Cantonese saying I ordered fried rice. I mean I could see where the confusion could have arised, in Cantonese fried rice and chow fun is a syllable off so he could have misheard me. But he could have definitely handled the situation better without the yelling. I also noticed the staff bickering over some change loudly and yelling across the restaurant. Seeking Chinese food? I would look elsewhere.

The entirety of my Sunday afternoon was spent at the car dealership, which worked up my dad’s appetite big time. He was in the mood for some Chinese food, and Will C. suggested that we dine here. The food was definitely just average at best. The seafood fried rice and clams in black bean sauce were the only things that stood out to me. We also had spare ribs and double cooked pork, but both dishes were way too fatty for my liking. The beef chow fun was very bland and had little to no flavor at all. My brother ended up dousing the entire thing in sriracha once we got home, lol. We had a little snafu with a server as he brought out a dish that we did not even order. He was super defensive about it when Will C. tried to correct him, which was moderately annoying to deal with. Asian restaurants in general aren’t exactly well-known for good service anyways, so I guess this was to be expected… I’m not in the Chantilly area particularly often, so I doubt that I’ll be coming back for another try…

If you are looking for Americanized Chinese food — look elsewhere. This place features traditional dishes, which is great because it seems to be lacking in Manassas. The waitress was very friendly and casual, adding to the comfy mood set by the interior furnishing. Although if you have severe social anxiety this place would trigger it so many times LOL, the waitress probably came over like 10 times and we only stayed for an hour. I don’t really know the names of the food we ordered because my family members who were more familiar with Asian food ordered, but they were all very tasty. My favorite was the stewed beef with radish, it definitely had the flavors of traditional cooking. We had 2 dishes that tasted so similar though, so those 2 weren’t worth buying together. My family chronically under-salts their food so they found it too salty but I found it perfectly seasoned. We also asked them not to add MSG, but they proudly proclaimed that they do not use it — peace of mind for those who try to avoid it.

I’m really wowed by this place. At first glance, I thought it was another run of the mill, average at best Chinese restaurant with over priced Chinese take out style foods. It’s actually a nice family style setting perfect to accommodate large parties. We came here for dinner with about 10 people in our party. Our family is no stranger to Chinese cuisine so we ordered up a feast of Peking duck,(red) pork, crispy pork, flat noodles and beef, combo fried rice, seafood clay pot, deep fried seafood, stir fried Chinese broccoli, stir fried snow pea leaves, and steamed(whole) fish I enjoyed each dish. The fried rice especially is made with a salty type fish mixed in and I love that combination of flavors. The seafood clay pot and deep fried seafood was beyond delicious. Both are great entrees to try if you love seafood. The portions are also large so it doesn’t disappoint for the price you are forking. The Chinese Peking duck and crispy pork was some of the best I’ve had. It was fresh unlike some other places and you can tell by the coloring of the duck. The steamed fish was so fragrant and perfectly cooked! It had ginger, scallions and garlic in a light soy sauce which was a perfect pairing to the mild flavor of the fish. I think it was a branzino fish and they gave us 2 in the order. My family has been coming back her for party orders, usually we pick up a whole roast pork or fried rice when we have a large family gathering and it’s always a big hit. It’s nice that they allow us to buy an entire roast pig at about $ 300 I believe, but you have to call and order in advance.

Good authentic Hong Kong style Chinese food! What a nice find that I stumbled across. I’ve gone back twice over the last week. I first tried their pan fried noodle with seafood. Pan fried noodle dishes are a mainstay of Hong Kong cuisine so it was a good dish to judge them by. It was quite good, especially for $ 14.99. The portions of seafood were generous and fresh. I would rate it a 8 on a 10 scale. If you want a 10 on a 10 scale try it at Yen’s Café in Ashburn. On my next visit I had the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special which was better than most other places. They have great value on their lunch menu by the way! On my third visit I had the wonton noodle soup with roast pork. There is a beautiful picture of this in the photos section. I love Hong Kong style noodle soups and this didn’t disappoint. They are proud of their Peking Duck. I’ll be going back soon to try that out for sure.

Pretty mediocre, oily, over-priced Chinese food. It’s a little more authentic than some of the other(sad) Chinese food options in NoVA, but nothing special. The menu is pretty huge though, so there are a plethora of options for picky eaters. We got the mongolian beef, which was pretty good — but that’s hard to mess up. The veggies were forgettable and the meat platter was really sad. Also got duck and roast pork(char siu)… the duck had next to no meat on it and the char siu was one of the fattiest cuts of pork I’ve seen at a Chinese place in a longggg time. Try Miu Kee for some better roasted meat. Also the portion sizes were really small — they’re making a killing with the prices they’re charging there. Most memorable thing about Taste of Hong Kong is that it’s located right next to a place called Taste of Korea…

Quick fast friendly service coming in tonight shortly after 9pm. Weirdish combination of furniture makes me think this used to be a different kind of restaurant at one time and they just kept the furniture. Anyways, Ordered the combo lo mein and Chinese broccoli with ginger garlic. Absolutely fresh, hot, flavorful and delicious! Authentic Chinese dishes abound here with some American Chinese choices. Wish they had one of these closer to DC.

I’ve been here several times with my parents and they always do the ordering. This is the first time I went by myself and ordered(a big accomplishment for an ABC with limited Chinese reading capability) I was craving congee and this is one of the few places you can get it. I love the classic kind — with thousand year old egg and salted pork. The bowl was huge and the congee rather thin(more liquid than porridge) but delicious. Also got my other favorite dish — ma po tofu.(beware, it does come with some peas, I just eat around the peas) My friend also go congee, chili garlic eggplant(tender eggplant, delicious sauce, great with rice), and jellyfish. It was way too much food for us, thankfully all the dishes make great leftovers!

Best place to get some wonton mi west of town! It’s a Chinese place, don’t expect the best service. The owner is super nice.(So I think he’s the owner. He’s always there) Salt and pepper pork and wonton mi xa xiu! Yum!

Very typical Cantonese food. My bf and I were in the area, and we remembered this restaurant from one time his mom brought us. When you walk in, it’s very promising. Everyone in there is Chinese and no one is speaking English. Usually a good sign when you walk into an Asian restaurant. The food was okay, but nothing spectacular. We got a clay pot, and wonton noodle soup. My obsession when the weather turns cold– noodle soup. I eat it almost every weekend. The noodle soup was just okay. The clay pot was chicken and mushrooms. It was just okay, but the chicken pieces were so bony and they skimped on the other toppings. I think there was maybe 2 pieces of mushrooms… I wanted some dimsum but we can’t read chinese and we weren’t sure if it was available or not. Overall, it was A-OK. Which is why the 3 stars works perfectly. I’ll come back but only if I am in the area and have nothing else to eat.

I actually really like this place. I really loved the salt and pepper pork chops. Unlike some other places, it wasn’t as salty as you would think, but it could probably use a little more pepper taste. I really like how it was crispy and flavorful with each bite. I would also recommend the young chow fried rice rather than the combination fried rice. To me its a lot more variety of stuff in the fried rice and more flavorful. We also ordered salt and pepper shrimp, but I personally did not like it because the skin, head, and tail were all still attached. I know you can eat all of it, I just didn’t like the head and skin part. It took away the chewing part of eating the shrimp and I was more worried about chewing it enough before swallowing. We also had the pan fried noodle with seafood. I love the pan fried noodles and mixing it with all of the veggies and seafood along with the sauce it’s in to get the full taste. The noodles are crispy-ish since it is pan fried. Finally, we got this spicy boiled fish dish. It wasn’t super spicy, but it was different. The sauce was thick and the fish was super soft and tender. Wasn’t a huge fan of it, but if you like a little bit of spicy and fish, it would be good over rice. I definitely want to go back and try the shrimp wonton noodle soup and some of the other dishes there! P. S. forgot to take pictures this time because I was so hungry, but will have some for you next time! :)

Do not sit near the back corner(near the bathroom) hallway is super messy and the does not have a door to block the hallway. Bathroom is super nasty. Best place to sit in this restaurant is near the windows. Food portion is a lot smaller than other Asian restaurant in Falls Church. These people will take advantage of you if you do not know their portion size. They actually served us a chicken half the size that we asked for. So I ask the owner what’s up with this and she said oops we missed some and gave me extra.

Came for lunch specials. Good food with extensive Hong Kong menu The lunch menu offers a wide selection of items for $ 7.50 and was quite filling I had garlic pork and bowl of curry squid. Both were delicious and came with kettle of free hot tea. The Resturant is large and can accommodate several large parties. It’s neat clean and not overly decorated I would definitely return to try other items on The menu. Perhaps one of the duck dishes

Nothing Hong Kong about it except for offering congee, clay pot rice, and noodles… Suan cai yu was the only thing I liked here out of 6 dishes. Everything else had too much corn starch in the oversauced sauce. Scallops were chemically tasting and made with not a single fresh vegetable. Not even the white mushrooms. Special mei fun was ok. Started the meal off with dirty chopsticks that had multiple spots of vegetable remainders dried to it. Ended the meal with a hair in my chicken. Aight…
