Terrible terrible! First time coming into this location and waited at least 20 minutes without even having our drink order taken. The hostess that seated us was nice but that’s about the only nice thing I can say about this location. They weren’t even busy so I’m not sure where the break down was. Worst experience ever! Don’t waste your time!

We received a $ 10 gift card in the mail and decided to give it a try for dinner on a week day. Upon arriving, we were shocked by the music volume that met our ears. Our party was seated away from the noise and over time the volume was progressively lowered. I’ll assume other diners made comments upon arrival too. All of us enjoyed the attentive service and our waiter was very helpful/knowledgeable in recommending menu items. Our drinks arrived promptly, followed by the appetizer. We tried the«Hog Hammers». Very meaty with great smokey flavor. The fish tacos were delectable and the«Apple Pecan Salad» with added chicken rounded out the dining experience. The salad was of a generous size and very fresh, with crisp/spin dried greens. We’ve been to many sports bars and The Green Turtle by far has the best food for our hard earned bucks. Rest assured, we’ll be back as there are many other items we would like to order and enjoy

This has been the first & most likely the last Green Turtle that I will visit. I’ve stopped in a couple times to watch a some football games & I have yet to be impressed. The food is mediocre, nothing to rave about & pricey for simply what it is. I’m torn about the service, as the first time was excellent considering the crowd in the bar area. However, I never could figure out who our server was during the 2 ½ hours when I was there last. The combination of all the above leaves alot to be desired.

We had a group dinner here(10 people), and I was wondering how the experience would be, given the less than stellar reviews I had read. The good news is that we had a decent time. Some key points: (1) Service was friendly and fast enough — it did not take long for the beverages and then for the meals. (2) The food was OK — nothing spectacular but good enough. The grilled chicken sandwich had very good flavor even without all the standard toppings that I declined to have. (3) The homemade potato chips are fine, nothing majorly good or bad. (4) The tacos looked good, and those who ordered them ate them up with no complaints. (5) The burgers came medium with a lot of read, which is fine if that is your taste. I suppose you can have them more well-done if you like. Somehow a red stained bun is not appealing. All in all, this is an OK place to go to. I would not pass on another good local place to go here but would walk over from the next-door Holiday Inn on a snowy night, like tonight, and not feel cheated.

Here to watch the UFC fight. The manager thinks it is funny to do an inventory in the middle of the preliminary fights blocking the TV. Then when the final fight comes on the manager thinks it is more important to listen to crappy music than to turn on the sound for the fight. If you are interested in watching sports or fights and drinking/eating, I would recommend you find a different place besides the Green Turtle.

Food was very good. We had a burger(nice and juicy) and a patty melt. Fried pickle spears done well. French fries cooked through. Only complaint is music is so loud that everyone talks over it so atmosphere is overall too loud. Would suggest they lower the music a bit.

Came for a UFC fight and although the place was almost full, service was great and my drink was never empty, that says alot! I’m usually iffy about any Green Turtles I go to because most of them are not good at all from food to service. Food was actually delicious here. We ordered loaded tots, which are like hash browns with scallions, bacon and cheese in a ball form then dipped in ranch. Yum so crispy and not oily as you’d think. This isn’t on the menu but they can easily make it.(You’re welcome) I had the Kickin’ Bourbon burger which has bourbon aioli, bacon and sautéed onions. The patty was juicy and thick, with thick cut smoked bacon and it was one of those burgers that was dripping down my hand as I took a bite. It was very good… surprisingly! I think because I came in with low expectations I didn’t think the food was going to be as good as I thought! The only downside is food is on the pricey side, well for a sports bar. I mean flat bread pizzas are $ 12 for apps and burgers are about $ 12 – 13. Thats a lot! I think that’s also why people stay at the Hooters next door because its cheaper. Either way, this GT is enjoyable!

Met with one of my CPA referral partners here just now. I had a medium mushroom swiss burger, fries, and a couple of Long Island Ice Teas. Service was very attentive and the food was delish. The Long Island was watered down but I don’t expect much more from chain restaurants. I like that they have REAL hot sauce… Texas Pete. Oh, and I tried the peach sweet too. Perfectly sweetened and with real peach chunks tossed in. Overall, enjoyable experience.

Have been here twice since it opened, both times for lunch. The first time we were told that there was a 15 – 20 minute wait for a table in the traditional eating area, or that we could sit anywhere in the bar. Upon looking in the table and booths area, there were plenty of available tables. They may have been understaffed to fill all of the available tables. Today though… today is the last time I will ever be going to this Greene Turtle location. We ordered a Cowboy Burger and Chicken Tenders platter. The Cowboy Burger was ordered medium well and came out medium rare. So bloody, that the bottom bun was soaked completely through. When the food runner went to set the food on the table, she was in such a rush that she dropped the sauce from the tenders onto the table and shot all over the person that was with me at lunch. Her answer to it was to bring out 2 additional chicken tenders instead of a wet rag. We sent back the burger to be cooked medium well, and the tenders to be sent back so that the food could come back again at the same time. The 2nd burger came out medium, with a very pink middle. It was sent back again, this time requested for it to be well done. It’s not that I like my burgers well done(or even cooked more done than medium usually), it’s just that it’s hard finding a quick lunch place that has cooks that can truly cook a steak or burger to the correct level of done-ness, so by ordering medium well, I was hoping a little more than a bloody mess on the plate. The waiter comped the burger — overall it took about 30 – 45 minutes for everything to be settled. Never again though… several other people were having issues with their food that the kitchen was sending out as well. Not a good thing to have happen during a lunch period that wasn’t that busy.

I had high hopes after dining at other Greene Turtle’s but it was a huge disappointment. The food and drinks were expensive compared to other restaurants around. They had zero gameday drink specials which was odd for a sports bar. The wait staff was slow and clueless. Dine at your own risk.

I really want to like this place but I have mixed reviews. It’s not bad but they are soooooo expensive in comparison with the other restaurants in the area in terms of food, value, etc. I will say though that they do get quite a good crowd from what I’ve seen but I’m not sure if time of year and sports are a factor. Also, I believe happy hour is from 3 – 7 which sucks because 4 – 8 is so much better, but most places have happy hour from 3 – 7 except one or two :) I’ve been here twice now and couldn’t tell you what their happy hour specials are because it seems no one knows. Anytime you ask about happy hour you’re simply handed a menu. I guess I’ll never find out because the menu is too busy for me to read.

They don’t offer food after 12??? Thought you can’t do that in Virginia? I came here for a beer and some food and got turned away. Crazy.

Definitely on the pricey side. Lunch was good and the service was excellent. Better than the Kingstowne location. Got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich w the Bacon Tater Tots. Complete winner. Server was on top of our service. I would go back.

I ate here yesterday and sat by the bar. It was ok experience. I had a beer, coke, crab app sandwich, and mozzarella and the bill came to be ~$ 40. I thought mozzarella stick were pretty good but only has 3 pieces. I’m not sure if they have the NFL network or not, but I came in during late afternoon games but only showed 1CBS game at 6PM. Very weird because I believe their are usually ¾ games at 4:30… The menu is quite long and lot of various things to choose from…

If you’re good with mediocre food, terrible service, and appetizers that arrive 30 minutes after some of your entrees, this is the place for you. Tables all around us were complaining. Might want to wait until they figure out how to provide decent service. Very bad first impression, though. Doubt I will be back.

Food is good, TVs are great, especially the high def big screen. The staff is attentive and nice, a bit sow but attribute that to newness… so, give them a chance. Def better than Hooters and if they get their mojo, going to be better than most the rest of sports bars in area!
