This place is so ghetto and disgusting. Food is horrendous.

I haven’t been to an Applebees in 10 years, because my wife and friends hate it so much. This week I decided to give Applebees another chance, and it looks like I proved them right. Our waitress seats us and immediately tries to rush us to order. We haven’t even opened the menus yet. Our entire section is empty. She was a bit off, but we decided to hold out hope. Big mistake; we should have just left right then and there and went to the consistent Texas Roadhouse next door(definitely do this if you are even considering this Applebees location). Our drinks came, and then we waited around 20 minutes until she came back to take our orders(wing appetizer, two chicken entrees). She wrote them down, which I always admire because sometimes people make mistakes, and there’s a way to double-check if you jot it down instead of bringing out the wrong plates. But it didn’t matter much. 30 minutes pass. No wings. We ask what’s going on. She says«what did you order again?» We politely inform her. She scurries off to the back before we can ask for refills. 10 more minutes pass and she comes back out. «What did you two order again?» We’re polite yet again, despite the fact that she wrote it down, we literally just told her, and there’s only one other family in our section. A manager came over and apologized, stating that«she had forgot to put the order in,»(oh that’s all?) and offered to get us a soup or a salad. Not cover the bill, but a soup or salad. 20 minutes later our wings came, and 20 minutes after that, our food; she handed us the wrong plates after essentially ordering twice. The food was very meh and one of my water glasses was dirty(I’ve seen a few other reviews here note this). We paid just because of the time factor and got out of there. Never again.

What a lackluster and disappointing lunch! We came in on a Friday around 1 pm — very quiet. Nothing unusual at first. I ordered the Brew Pub Sirloin with onions and tomatoes. The meal did not look very appealing. I cut into the steak and found it to be almost completely fat and grizzle. I asked the server for a new one. The manager came over and did not offer an apology. He said«we can’t help it — they come pre-packaged» and asked if I wanted something else. I don’t care if they’re pre packaged — if you’re running a restaurant apologize and ask how it can be made right! I ordered something from the lunch menu instead. The replacement half sandwich and soup took so long to come out my husband was completely done with his food and the server had cleared his plate. My sandwich and soup were okay, although also not visually appealing. When they took my first order back they took my silverware and napkin. All I had for the next was a spoon and drink napkin. The manager never offered a discount and I still paid full price for the experience. The server never thanked us or said anything nice to us before we left. Definitely skip this one!

Honestly this is one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in a long time. The food was not very good the ribs were dry and the steak was grey and rubbery but that’s not even the worst part. The service was awful. The server was unable to answer any of our questions about the menu and he never offered to ask someone else. At one point he even stated that people were too busy to help us. Then when I pointed out a mistake on the check he gave me attitude, argued with me and then grabbed it out of my hand. At that point we asked to speak to a manager to just attempt to suggest that maybe the server needed a little more training. The manager came over, made excuses for the server, made it seem like the situation was our fault and spoke over us as we tried to explain our experience with the server. I am not sure we were ever able to fully explain how we felt. It is safe to say that we will never go back.

Let’s face it: you can find a burger anywhere nowadays, especially in the DMV area. In my opinion, service, quality of food, and price are really what sets a chain restaurant(or any restaurant) apart from others. I did not have any expectations when my friends and I walked in here. We came in at an awkward hour — between lunch and dinner, so the place was understandably dead, like a ghost town saloon. We sat ourselves, I grabbed menus for us, and we would have hopped behind the bar and made our own drinks had we not found the hostess. She took our drink orders, then we mulled over the menu. We each ordered appetizers, and I added an entrée. Surprise: the food was warm, tasty, and none of us got sick! Our server was very nice, got every item we ordered correctly, and regularly refilled/asked us if we wanted refills. With the half price appetizers, happy hour prices, and karaōke on Friday nights, I am definitely coming back here. Always feels good to know your money and time were well spent.

I know applebees are bad but this has to be the worst location. Terrible customer service! Really hate that I must give it a star!!!

This place is alright. Service was okay. My siblings and I went for their half off appetizers. They were okay in flavor, but majority of their food was salty and some of them didn’t seem very fresh. Don’t know when I’d come here, i don’t even think their happy hour specials are that great to be honest, as each appetizer was roughly $ 4-$ 5. The only reason why we came here is because they were open later hours during a week day, which was nice.

Applebee’s is an ok chain restaurant that has some cool new menu items every once in a while. Recently I tried their pretzels with beer cheese and churro s’mores. The pretzels were good, had a interesting crispy taste on the outside that I enjoyed and the cheese had a nice balance with the beer. Churros and chocolate do not mix together, eat them separately. Sadly they do not have a lot of different types of liquor on site so the drink selection is limited. It may vary by location, but this one did not have the ingredients for the nuts n berries drink.

Saturday dinnertime, restaurant only had a few patrons, practically empty. We were shown a booth too small for our family so we asked to sit at a longer booth 60 inches across the aisle. Server refused and said couldn’t be done, server couldn’t handle that table, so we chose to leave. Low traffic restaurant that refuses to seat a family… if that attitude extends to kitchen I’m glad they put up no objection to us leaving.

It took so long to get served our food at this restaurant that I thought we were in a Third World country. The only reason that I gave it to stars was because when the food was served, it was actually pretty good. my wife and I would not have minded a long wait if we had been informed upfront that it would take a while. But the fact that we just sat there and waited and waited and waited like everyone else waited too, some with lots of kids, I thought that was just too much.

I haven’t been to Applebee’s for several years, no good reason, just didn’t go. Tonite I went to meet my family for dinner, they were late, but, our server, a wonderful young man with a Mohawk, kept watch, and took care. Through the night he was attentive, but not a bother. Mom and sis had the 2 for 20, which included a 7 oz steak. I had the Asian burger with pineapple. I wish they would put more sauce on it, but it was very good. The fries were excellent, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and fresh. The pretzels with beer-cheese were great, better than any I’ve had. The only thing that worried me was they weren’t very busy, hope they have more business at other times. We will be back, there are plenty more dishes I’d like to try.

My husband and I sat at the bar around 4pm. We were served really quickly and the food was actually better than we had hoped. The fries were some of the best I’ve ever had and obviously made just then. And the burger was ooooh so delicious! We’ll definitely be going back. Glad to see an Applebee’s that does things right!

I’ve never WALKEDOUT of a restaurant before, but I did last night! I was in the area and Applebee’s has a good name for consistency in others I have visited. I travel frequently and figured I would be ok at this one. This one was dark, gloomy and there was nobody at the server’s station at the front. After waiting several minutes I was escorted to a dirty table. I was told my «server» would be one person but a different one showed up. He had a mohawk hair style and appeared sloppy and unkempt. He also spoke in a manner that I could not hear nor understand, so he had to repeat himself. I placed a simple order which involved a dinner and a glass of water. While waiting for my food I had the misfortune to listen to horrible«rap» music and I noticed the water glass was dirty. The server also came by to offer a membership which would involve me providing my email address and personal information. I declined. Looking at the water glass more closely, I observed a green slime trail which clearly resembled sticky mucus or «snot» as others would call it. As the server brought the dinner, he noted my curiosity as I was looking at the nasty water glass. He offered to bring a different one but I decided to be a bit more proactive. I told him that I was going to leave. If they could not sufficiently clean a water glass I did not have confidence in the kitchen as a whole. It makes you wonder what is going on back there, and I see that I am not alone in my concerns here. I would hate to think that someone was deliberately messing with me and my food but these things are happening all around the country these days. Adding up all elements of my experience, I walked out and did not want to take a chance.

My visit on 08−01−14 — a decent meal ruined further by really lame drinks: Service: Evan was a good server. He even brought me a sample of a summer ale to try since they didn’t have what I really wanted — a draft of Blue Moon. I passed on it because, though Evan said it was heavier, it seemed a bit lighter than Blue Moon. Drink: This was my main complaint. I don’t know who the bartender was for this visit. I ordered a Margarita and my wife ordered a Strawberry Lime Margarita. Both were VERY weak and tasted like flavored water. The manager came to our table and cited ABC laws and said that there was nothing he could do. Food: The food(shrimp scampi) was OK, although some of the tomato sauce was not mixed in well with the pasta as I have had in the Applebee’s in my home area. Bottom line: Evan and the manager apologized for the bartender and said if we came back the next night Evan, who is the part time bartender, would make sure our drinks were good. We didn’t go back. I should have had the summer ale — or better yet — water.

**bar review only** Friends in town wanted to go to a happy hour close to their hotel, so we met them at Applebee’s against my better judgement. The bar area of this restaurant is dark and dreary and in serious need of a good scrub, but was more busy than I expected so I took it as a good sign. I asked if they had Leinenkugel and the bartender looked at me like I had three heads, so I got a draft Stella in a dirty glass. My buddy ordered a Jack and coke and didn’t think it tasted right so when he ordered his second, we watch the bartender go under the bar and grab the Jack bottle to pour it(all the other liquor bottles are out in plain sight btw). He takes a sip and gets her attention to tell her something’s not right and she says«Oh, well, we ran out of Jack, the new manager didn’t order liquor this week so he told me to just fill the bottle with Jim instead». Wait… what? Why wouldn’t you just say you were out of Jack? Why wouldn’t you offer your customers a different choice? Why would you be openly deceitful? Yeah, no thanks. Fortunately there are much better HH spots in the area, so we just went elsewhere.

One of the worst experiences we have had at a restaurant. We were seated at a dirty table. When we asked the hostess to clean it, she disappeared and when the waiter came 10 minutes later it still had not been cleaned. Another waiter spilled beer on our guests New coat and no one seemed too concerned about it. The food was just ok. The grilled cheese was drenched in butter. The onion rings were good. The tortilla soup was pretty bad. They gave us coupons for free desserts which were dated a day before but then wouldn’t honor them when we wanted to use them. Really, you couldn’t honor a $ 1 brownie bite? We also received no drink refills and the waiter couldn’t remember anything. Would not recommend at all.

I really do like Applebee’s but this last experience was the last straw. I have never experienced such horrible service. I should have known something is not right when an appetizer takes 20 mins to come out. I literally never saw my waitress after our order, I ask for a manager and he makes me wait 10 mins before he comes to talk to me. Things did get better after the manager Misael showed up, he explained the situation and that he apologized sincerely. Apparently 2 servers called sick and being a former waiter myself, I understood why. Misael told us he was going to comp all the kids meals and drinks but went a step further by comping the whole check. I personally would rather have great service and pay for my stuff but the manager did his best to rectify the situation so instead of 1 stars I have them 2. I will give them one more chance due to Misael’s actions.

Took hubby out to lunch today for his birthday. We were seated immediately(which is always nice). Our server came and took our drink order. When the drinks arrive, my husband noticed that his glass was dirty on one side. I notice from the other side that there is a bug in the bottom of his glass.(Glad he got water, if it had been a soda, we would have never saw it.) He decided that he would share my drink until the waiter came back. We told the waiter and he was apologetic and served my husband a new drink. We ordered our food and when the appetizer came, the waiter brought 2 small plates to eat it on. One of the plates was greasy. So there is 3 strikes already(dirty glass, bug in drink, greasy plate). My husband and I decide to just eat, it couldn’t get any worse, right. When I opened my silverware, I had something black on my knife then I look over to my husband as he opened his silverware and there was 3 pieces of black(dirt or old food) on his napkin. We called the waiter over and canceled our order. We then walked over to the Texas Roadhouse that is next door and had a great birthday lunch. I used to like Applebee’s but after having 5 issues before taking the first bite… I WILLNOT be back.

I am a frequent patron of this location particularly car side service. Today was obviously not a good day! After sitting in the car for 10 minutes, I decided to go in to retrieve my food. I order the same thing all of the time, chicken fajita roll up ! Not that difficult to make… Still wasn’t ready after 20 minutes! Lady had an attitude, the staff steamed seemed unorganized and disheveled, it wasn’t packed(folks celebrating cinco de mayo elsewhere) and my food didn’t even come with the mexi-ranch sauce! Highly disappointed today. I should have prepared my own dinner! You all need to work on your service! Great service keeps the consumer coming back!

Took my family out to eat here last Friday. It was mainly bar crowd watching basketball and we were seated right away. We had a great waiter that came back several times through out our meal making sure things were okay. I ordered a steak medium rare and it came back extremely well done. I was happy to be out with my family and didn’t want to complain so I portioned my chewy steak out to my children instead of making a complaint. Our waiter returned asking me if the steak was done the way I asked and I responded truthfully with what I did with it because it was chewy and bland. I let him know it was no biggie and I wasn’t wanting to complain. Needless to say within 5min a manager came out asking if things were okay, I said yes and she gave me the«really?» look over. I asked if the waiter had told her what I said and she said he had. In a nutshell, I ended up with not just a redone steak to take home, but a new meal in it’s entirety. The manager just smiled and said to enjoy. The next day when I dug in for lunch, the steak was great and just how I asked for it the first time. A small act, but one major lasting impression on me and my family :)
