Place is a dump. Merchandise is cluttered and disorganized. Sizes on some items appear mismarked which is probably why they ended up at Stein Mart after being returned to a full price retailer. Wait at checkout line is inexplicably long given there are so few customers.

I’ve been waiting in the check out line for five minutes. Terrible experience. She did not even acknowledge my wait and another employee was behind me in customer service and did nothing.

Staff here are really rude. I was trying to find something and I asked one of the service people. That lady just ignored me and walked away. I asked her again and she said she didn’t know what that is and she frowned.

I never knew what a Stein Mart was until I visited yesterday. Now I know: discount shopping department. Nothing to note here except the lines can get long and people set alarms on their watches on display, and it’s a fun game to try to figure out which darn watch is driving you crazy while you just want to get some cheap refurbished golf balls and get out on the course!

I’ve never been in a Stein Mart and since I was in the area and doing a little Christmas shopping, decided to stop in. Not much here. for me anyway. It is a lovely store but has a bit of a Banker’s Wife/upscale Kohl’s sort of feel to it. Their casual is for me extremely dressy. But it looks well put together and the quality appeared to be pretty nice with decent prices. Okay, so we’ve established I’m probably more American Eagle than Stein mart in terms of clothing but the housewares are another story. I really adore their selection of bedding. They actually have quilts, bedspreads and comforters. They don’t have tons in stock so if you see something definitely get it but what they do have is so distinctly pretty but also somewhat bohemian. And the prices were very reasonable. There is something about the small investment of changing your bedding that makes you feel like your whole room is new. They have some other housewares like decorative items, some parsons chairs and mirrors. They do have some cute shoes and I recognized some brands like Bandolinos and Aerosoles. And they have a huge assortment of accessories which make for great gifts. There were 5 racks of sunglasses and some Vera Bradley bags. The men’s department is really impressive. Maybe overlooked but definitely think men would find some nice business casual here. Lots of gift ideas as well. The staff here were very nice and the bathrooms were decent so that’s always a plus.
