I tried the original flavor and the pomegranate raspberry and they were both disgusting. I walked out without buying anything. There was a weird taste that seemed like maybe they had gone bad.

Sweet Frog– a kinda cute name for a kinda cute froyo place. A lot of people compare this place to YoPo, and rightfully so. The quality of froyo here is pretty standard, although I’m not a huge fan of the non-dairy flavors: they taste kinda grainy. However, one key point that I do like is that you can do everything by yourself. Like please, let me add the amount of mochi and chocolate sprinkles I want myself, thank you. Not gonna lie, the first time I stepped in here, I thought I’d somehow walked out of Chapel Hill and stepped into an 80’s live action rendition of Candyland. Needless to say, the décor is a little extra in my opinion. Good service, though, and I love the pretty much unlimited samples you can get here. I’m still a die-hard fan of YoPo.

Update: I emailed Uconnection and they reached out to the manager. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding between the two groups and the workers. Anyway, looks like Uconnection discounts are back.

I don’t know how some of these reviews are so low, but my trips to Sweet Frog are always pleasant and yummy. The service varies depending on the person behind the register, but the owner is so incredibly nice and accommodating. Every once in a while, he’ll come out to say hello and it’s always nice when management shows face. As for the price, I wouldn’t say too bad, but it’s not necessarily a steal.(I used to work at a self-serve froyo shop) SF is my go-to for a light dessert on a nice(or sad) day if I’m walking along Franklin and I highly recommend it to any visitors, even though it may be a chain

Decided on Sweet Frog for some froyo with friends. Went in and asked for some sample cups. The person working offered me one cup. When I asked for more he said he could only give me one or two at most. He said«Most people use the same cup.» When I told him that it was against health department code using the same sample cup multiple times(kind of like not using the same plate at a buffet — you just can’t do it!), he said«We don’t really follow the health department here.» Ummmm… excuse me?! Are you not a food establishment?! Nasty for one thing, and cheap for another. If somebody is going to buy yogurt, they should be able to sample a few flavors if they’re trying to decide. I’ve never seen a yogurt place do something like this before. Needless to say, we decided to go elsewhere for frozen yogurt. I’ll be sticking to the Yogurt Pump down the road from now on.

Um, did I just pay $ 25 for three yogurts? Time for a little self-flagellation. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy it but it’s not like I felt like it was worth the money. I prefer Yo pop in terms of price/quality. The Sweet Frog is SWEET. Like really my teeth hurt or maybe it was the toppings but I really feel like it is average at best. It is a cute store and cavernous. Plenty of room that you don’t see at many fro-yo places. I like the green and pink and the cleanliness of the store. But it is decididely average considering the price.

Just your average yogurt place, a pay as you go place. Didn’t really find any of the flavors that I tried to be exceptional. The price is about average, as is the food. I’d go down the street to yogurt pump.

This would be a 5 star review were it not for the far too open space and weird décor! The little animals on the wall, while a cute idea are just too creepy for me. They have crazy looks on their faces and make me feel like instead of your yogurt, they want YOU. I like the idea of clean, open space, making this place feel really light and airy, but it was almost too open. Something about the mostly blank walls(ignoring those animals) or something, I’m not sure. But, I must say, the frozen yogurt is good and I didn’t accidentally end up spending a ton of money, which was a surprise. To me, though, a yogurt bar is a yogurt bar. I’ve never found one that is exceptionally special nor one that really disappointed me, and this place definitely fell in the middle of that spectrum. Also, the service was great. The girl behind the counter, though obviously sucked into a magazine or her phone or something, still maintained a friendly and helpful demeanor(she wasn’t smacking gum and twirling her hair around her finger, looking completely unenthused).

Sweetfrog is yummy. It’s very much like YoPop on Weaver Dairy, what with the multiple flavors, self-service, and topping scooping(yes, you can have both gummi bears and strawberries and Reeses Peanut Butter cups). It’s also a nice big place, so seating is usually available if you want to sit down and enjoy.

Let me start off this review by complimenting the frozen yogurt and toppings. This is the best I’ve had in all of Chapel Hill. My girlfriend and I came here on a date this evening. While eating her yogurt, something became stuck in my girlfriend’s throat, and she began to choke on it. Whatever it was became dislodged after a nasty bout of coughing, and so I asked for a cup of water to make her feel better. I was told«we don’t have cups, but you can buy a bottled water.» I grabbed a styrofoam yogurt cup, walked back, and asked«Could you please pour some water from that sink right behind you into this cup? My girlfriend was just choking, and she needs some water.» I was told that she could get tap water from the bathroom. I asked the other girl working, and she apologized, but also told me that she couldn’t give me any water from the sink. I would have spoken to a manager, but there was none in sight. Water out of the bathroom. She said I could get water out of the bathroom! I’m never coming back.

Awesome frozen yogurt(more sweet than milky) at a great location.
