Love this place — the beer is cold, the food is fresh and cheap, the waitresses are BAZILLY, and the owner is #1DONK. order the bacon cheese fries, and the HUSHPUPPIES. oh yeah, you also get a second HOTDOG for $ 1. money.

GAMEDAY? Sup dogs. Hungry? Sup dogs? Grab a few drinks? Not much on beer? Doesn’t matter, sup dogs. Look, awesome food, awesome drinks AND pricing, oh and don’t forget the sauce! Oh AND location, right in the heart of everything Franklin St has to offer.

Cool place, cool concept, dogs in general need some real, serious work, for the most part they are pretty much dogs«messed about», though some of the sides are nice, and I can’t speak to the burgers, but my guess is they also may suffer from a skewed view of what they should be. This is the second or third location of this concept restaurant which got its start in Greenville, NC, and has been open here about 2 years or so, and has struggled to gain popularity. We tried the Chicago Dog, The Old School Dog, and a side of Tater Tots(don’t you feel like a dufus saying Tater Tots?). The Old School Dog(chili, MUSTARD, & onions) wasn’t actually bad once you removed the immense amount of mustard that was sprayed all over the TOP of the dog — I guess this looks cool, but it totally turn the dog into a mess, and all you end up tasting is the mustard, which also gets applied to most of the surface area of your face. Wouldn’t order again due to this construction. The Chicago Dog not only suffered from this same problem of the mustard flow, but the composition of the dog is not even remotely close to an authentic Chicago Dog. The wiener is solid(all beef) but the role is just a average roll(no poppy seeds), there is NORELISH, only a tiny bit of tomato, and instead of Sports Peppers, we get jalapenos — this is a train wreck of a dog. Not a prayer of trying it again. The Tots were good, and the service great, but that’s not much of a reason to return, so we wont!

It’s aight. Read on some list it was one of best hot dogs in America. Sadly, I disagree. Maybe the original location is better? Having said that, these are some legit good dogs, with interesting flavors and toppings. Prices are very reasonable too if you add on that extra dog to your burger or dog. It’s just that I felt like I could make the exact same things at home and they’d taste the same. I didn’t taste any of that x-factor. Everyone working here was very nice! I’m betting this place would taste better after a heavy night drinking.

This place was not quite what I was expecting — I was pretty surly after having to go to kinko’s and print/scan a second batch of federal forms, so I figured I could go into a hot dog place and order and not be bothered by anybody. So I was surprised to learn that the place had a full bar and waitress service. Which it turned out was fine, the service was very pleasant. Here’s my complaint that has no real bearing on the place: the word«Sup» — if I take it to mean«What’s up» — unless, millennials, you tell me that it means something else? — is not such an awesome word that it needs to adorn half of the items on the menu. I’ve already talked too much… * My «sup dog» was pretty good, chili and«sup sauce»(See what I mean?) — but it wasn’t the stuff of 4-stars * Sides were a bunch of fried shit, I got green bean fries, fooling myself into thinking I got something healthy(hint: they’re onion rings except with green beans) * I counted 12 televisions * Some of the signs on the wall were funny(«warning, tequila makes your clothes fall off»), PLUS there was a cool abstract«piece» of Jordan hugging Scottie during the flu game, which I kind of want to try to buy off them.

The atmosphere of Sup Dogs has always been great. The wooded, front area outdoor seating is great in the spring, summer, and fall season months. Inside, there is plenty of seating via booths and tables, and the service is always fast. We haven’t been back to Sup Dogs in a while, but in returning we were happy to see that they have updated the script of the menus to make them easier to read. Plus, we get a kick out of the fact that they have hired a «dancing hotdog» to promote their restaurant just outside their front doors. He reminds us of the SNL character that Justin Timberlake portrays… a dancing soup cup. Very cool addition to attract customers.

Sup Dogs is a casual hot dog place on Franklin street. You can tell it is aimed towards college student with their flavored vodka and daiquiri type drinks but their hot dogs and prices are awesome! The fries here are similar to the delicious McDonald’s tasting fries but I believe they are even better! You can also sub tater tots which is also a win because of their crispiness though it costs a little more. Be sure to ask for the sup sauce to dip your fries in as it is delicious. I recommend ordering two dogs as it is only like a dollar or os more than getting one since that it is their special. They are also open late so if you’re leaving the bar or even want to drink, this is a good place to go eat!

I was in the area with a friend who had never been– I loved Sups in college, so naturally I insisted it was a must try. We started with Sup Crushes(nostalgia in a cup– you can’t beat the fresh orange juice). We shared cheesy tots, fried green beans, sweet dog, cool down dog, and veggie dog– all of my favorites and exactly how I remembered them. Needless to say, my friend left a Sups believer! My only wish is that their next branch is in Northern Virginia. Please! Noteables: –The best vegetarian options, ever. I’m not vegetarian, but I eat a lot of vegetarian substitutes when available. I’m not usually impressed with meat-substitutes at restaurants, but Sups is amazing. –Sup Sauce. I would have a monthly Amazon subscription for it if I could. It’s that delicious.

Great location, great menu, great prices. The food is really tasty, they have an impressive bar menu(especially for a small place), and the service is friendly. I had the Old School Hot dog with mustard, chili, and onions and it was delicious! Fries are standard frozen fries, but they still hit the spot! I was dining with a friend from NY and she had the NY dog and raved about it. Her daughter had the buffalo chicken sandwich and she loved her meal, too. I also need to give a shout out for the star of the show… the«Sup Sauce». I don’t know what it is in, but it truly rocks! Creamy, smoky, tangy… yum!

Seemed like an interesting place. I was visiting and looking for something different. Great selection of hot dog creations. Great prices, especially the double-up deal where you can add an extra hot dog of your choice to a combo. I was a little disappointed with the size of the dog. It seemed that there were more toppings in the bun then hot dog. The cheese fries with bacon was good. I’m was pleased that they use real cheese and not cheese sauce. The staff seemed a little annoyed that I was there. It was a slow day and I guess I interrupted their downtime.

The classic American diner food. Sup Dogs was a really spontaneous restaurant trip that I partook in with a group of friends. To be honest, I wasn’t all that hungry, but was looking to eat something before it got too late. I went in with zero expectations and was actually pleased with what they had to offer — a variety of hot dogs, hamburgers, and appetizers. Because a lot of us weren’t too hungry, we ordered a few appetizers to share around the table. We got the Taco Tots, the Pizza Pepperoni Fries(forgot exact name.) and the Jalapeño tots. Every single one of these appetizers were quite good(especially the Pizza Pepperoni fries!), and they gave heaping portions each. They do not have a lot of options with salads or anything else, so if you’re looking to eat something besides hot dogs or hamburgers, I do not recommend this place. Other than that, the food and service was good.

I visited for a quick bite this last weekend and I like the prices and the variety on the menu(overall a good value and selection). The inside is pretty much what you’d expect. Definitely geared to cater to college kids. I can see this place getting crowded on weekends. The wait staff was friendly and quick so, no complaints there. One comment about the sauce. It’s a little heavy on the hickory flavor and I’d recommend getting it on the side if you haven’t tried it before so you can dip your toe in before you take the plunge. Other than that, the food is good but not great. However, it’s a good value for the price range in my opinion. So, overall, a nice place for a quick, inexpensive meal of the fast food variety. It’s not really anything exceptional but, I’d definitely visit again if in the mood for that fare.

I can’t in my right mind think of giving this place four stars but for what it is it is A-ok. I can totally see this as a spot for post-drinking binges or a quick, cheap place to consume a bite to eat on the go. A destination place it is not. In addition to a great college hangout at night this place seems to do quite a bit of business with people with large families. It’s a bargain and has a well developed kids menu. I do appreciate the wait service so I can take a load off and have my food brought to me. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. I was a bit hesitant to go after reading some of the outfit descriptions of the female waitstaff but it was really not a big deal or worth mentioning. I didn’t see any shirts with the«best 6 inches» logo. As far as the best 6 inches, I didn’t have a ruler and no, these hot dogs are pretty ordinary. That doesn’t mean they are bad though. I had a veggie dog that came with pickles, cheese and mustard. I was a bit dismayed that it was bagged shredded cheese they topped it with and it wasn’t even melted. It fell off the hotdog as soon as I took my first bite. The hot dog seemed more bun than dog but it is good for what it is and I’m glad they have a non-meat version. The fries that came with it were shoestring style and pretty decent. I did try a margarita on the rocks. It’s cool they have options other than beer but I think if you were here to «party» as it were it would take quite a few of these. The owner dude messaged me and said no one gives them three stars so was surprised I had. Three is a good rating. But if you want four you’re going to have to shell out cash for an ICEEMACHINE!

Nice comfortable restaurant with some good food and a nice selection of beers and other drinks… Prices are not bad at all, and, of course, the scenery on Franklin Street is always a plus… Apparently this is their second location after establishing in Greenville, NC. I will be back!!!

This place is cheap and delicious, a deadly combo! Their hot dogs are great, I particularly like the Ranchero Dog and the one with pineapple. You can get a hot dog/fries combo for $ 5.99 and add one more hot dog for a dollar more. Trust me, that’s plenty of food, and for only $ 7!!! The Sup Crush and Sup Swirl(frozen sangria swirled with frozen margarita) are amazing as well. Give this place a shot, you won’t regret it! And neither will your wallet

TL;DR: Greasy goodness for relatively cheap and a great sports bar atmosphere and friendly service. Student, sports fan, or foodie can all enjoy this! This place wasn’t even on my radar until today and now I regret not finding it sooner! Holy crap. I mean, the food is that good. It’s like the bored a whole in my head and extracted all my salty, greasy fantasies and made them real. If this place did delivery, I think I’d need a better gym membership. While you’ll want to watch how much you eat, the food is not as heavy as I expected. It has all the bad-for-you taste and not a whole lot of the bad-for-feeling afterwards. That’s not to say you won’t feel it, it’s just worth it here. The service friendly and relatively quick. The menu was also pretty good in terms of options. Tons of what you would expect: hamburgers, hotdogs, tater tots, hush puppies. More surprising and welcome was them at there were vegetarian offerings as well! All and all, this a great place to grab a bite and relax with the family or some friends! Well done.

Holy crap. Sup Dogs. How do I even begin… It’s one of the most unhealthiest, fast food-esque, hipster places you could ever eat at on Franklin Street, and yet you will find yourself craving it — those awesome hot dog deals(add a second dog for only a dollar more!), the easy walk from campus, and the Sup Dog sauce(which tastes just like ketchup mixed with mayonnaise to me, but hey, it works if you like both, right?). There’s an amazing variety and array of hot dogs lined up on the menu, suiting every individual’s desires and needs. Veggie dogs for the local vegetarians, semi-quasi-healthy for the friendly hippies, outrageously cheesy and meaty dogs for those who have decided their diabetic fate and simply don’t care anymore, and outright strange dogs for the food experimenters and curious cats. Everything is on that frickin’ menu. Even the pickiest of eaters should be okay with that selection. And if you are just not a hot dog person, then try one of their burgers or sandwiches. Either way, the portions are humongous. Prepare the antacid or prepare to have leftovers. The service is good, and the food comes out fairly fast. Fries are just that — they’re generic fries, which are good and hard to screw up anyway. Tater tots are pretty darn good, so get that for 75 cents more if you want a step above just good. It’s a fun place and relatively inexpensive for a meal. If you’re ever craving fast food but want a decent sit-down option with friends without being judged, I’d recommend Sup Dogs.

The best things about Sup Dogs are Sup Dog sauce and the fact that anything on their menu can be ordered vegetarian — veggie dogs/patties galore! They have the best veggie dogs I’ve ever had and their veggie burgers never cease to amaze either. I’m not exaggerating when I say I love Sup Dogs sauce. It pairs well with pretty much everything on the menu. Their fries are NEVER soggy ever and are crisped to perfection. Additionally, they offer a great deal where you can add another hot dog for only $ 1 — so worth it! For late nights after bars/parties, I always order jalapeño popper tots, which are beyond delicious! During the day, my usual is the veggie Cowboy burger or veggie Western hot dog combo with no chili. Anything with their beer battered onion rings tastes great! Sup Dogs has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so it’s good for big groups and small. It’s pretty much right in between all the bars on Franklin, so it’s always convenient to walk there and there’s usually guaranteed seating. They also have drinks specials every day of the week.

Food: 4 Ambiance: 3.5 Food/Price: 3 Pros: Tasty and inventive dogs, open inviting floor plan, drunk-time face stuffing hours Cons: A little pricey Normally after a night of PBR sodden debauchery and shame the only options for temporarily plugging that void in your soul are McDonald’s or Waffle House(and if you’re eminently unlucky IHOP). Enter Sup Dogs. Sup Dogs offers an open inviting atmosphere that feels light and fun during normal hours and chaotic and buzzing post 2am. This is a great alternative for post-2am binge binging as the food is notably better and there are far more drunken friends to be made. And this isn’t to take anything away from Mikey D’s or Waffle House, as they remain staples and perfectly legitimate options for staving off the feelings of regret and loneliness that are the hallmarks of your Sunday morning hangover. But Sup Dogs offers a creative and quality alternative that’s just inventive and modern enough to keep your interest without coming of as pretentious or stuffy. Hawaiian Dog and Chili dog are both solid choices and you can’t go wrong with the fries or «Sup Sauce» which is insanely addictive. My only gripe is the price, while not super expensive for a meal in general, it is quite expensive for a hot dog. Though you can displace this by spending an extra dollar for an extra dog. So it looks something like $ 5 – 6 for 1 dog and $ 6 – 7 for 2 dogs. Bottom line: If Waffle House or McDonald’s are still your late night go to’s you’re barking up the wrong tree.

I’m so torn to write this review because I personally love Sup Dogs but can see where others find faults. I love the different dogs they offer with a variety of toppings but Sup Dogs as a restaurant does have its faults. Firstly, the service here is not the best and often I’ve found them to be more confused and flustered more than anything. I came here the day it was first opened and luckily had a server who worked at the Greenville location(came to CH to help with their opening, how nice!) and so she knew the answers to our questions and was attentive although it was busy. After my most recent visit, it still seems they are working out the kinks but are accommodating if you let them know of an issue you have. Secondly, the atmosphere isn’t fitting for everyone. I don’t mind it but I can definitely see why people would stay away since it’s usually loud and rowdy especially at night. It really attracts the college students and young adults at night(like after midnight) but it isn’t that bad for lunch or dinner. Thirdly, the restaurant part of Sup Dogs is a bit confusing as it is open seating. The idea is to make it pretty casual(which it is) but sometimes I can’t help but think they’ll miss some people waiting for their server, but this hasn’t happened to me yet. Also, I wanted to know for those of you who love sauces, you should give them a try! Their sup sauce is soooo delicious! I’m always tempted to take some home with me! Their food is pretty much all fried foods, similar to bar food. I’m always happy with their western dog and chili cheese dog and have tried other ones that are delicious as well. I do want to note that their jalapeño popper tots weren’t as good as I wanted them to be, maybe if the cheese was a bit more melted I’d be happier with it. They do offer alcoholic drinks and I recommend trying their sup crush(freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice with vodka) or their sup swirl(mix of frozen sangria and margarita), they definitely make sup dogs stand out! So long story short, if you like hot dogs, toppings, and fries/tots that you can add bacon and cheese to for just $ 1 go here! A dog combo is about $ 6(with fries) and another $ 1 can get you another hot dog(doesn’t have to be the same one – mix and match!) BUT if you cannot stand a loud, noisy and busy atmosphere full of college students(especially late at night) you might want to stay away.
