Smelled like a wet dog, crappy beer selection. Crowded for some reason? Very short stay here.

This eclectic place was a good place to meet in the front bar and then go to the back, open, historic, brick wall enclosed area behind the back bar, which has good service just like the front. Why 4 stars, you ask? $ 8.00 for an IPA in a plastic cup on a Saturday around 7PM? A more expensive outing than it was a year or so ago. About $ 9.00 for a crab cake and fries dinner, which my friend Mike M. said was quite good.

Beautiful bar with outdoor seating. Lovely brick walls and heaters available. Super packed here on a Friday night!

Went for dinner before a show at Dock Street Theater on a Wednesday night. We grabbed 2 seats at the bar a bit before 6pm. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the Crab Cake App and Fried Green Tomatoes App as my dinner. The Crab Cake says it comes with a side of fries, for 8.95. It really should be called Fries with a Crab Cake side. The cake was only slightly larger than a golf ball, and was practically hidden by the fries and the plastic ramekin of ketchup. Despite it’s size, it tasted very good, with a lot of crab meat, It practically fell apart when I tried to cut it, which I attributed to a lack of abundant binder. I considered that a good thing. Not really sure what the VooDoo dust was(or where), but the lemon aioli was a nice addition. The fries were thick-ish, hot and tasty. The Fried Green Tomatoes were delicious. 3 pieces, small in diameter, but thick slices coated in an appropriate amount of batter, which did not fall off when cutting. The basil aioli seemed generous, as did the goat cheese. I like goat cheese, but it come sometimes be pretty strong. In this dish, it blended perfectly with the aioli, giving more of a hint of the flavor, really adding more of a creaminess. There was some cucumber corn relish, but I’m not really sure what it contributed. My date had a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. He enjoyed it, but didn’t really have much to say(good or bad). I would say that we will be back, but seeing that they are moving, it is hard to say when that might be.

They are apparently moving, which is one of the more significant bummers I’ve experienced lately. The food here is good — my friend and I got the fried green tomatoes and veggie nachos to share after wrapping up a conference. FGT were nicely done. Breaded, lightly fried, and with a dollop of creamy goat cheese to go with. Yum. The nachos were also really good. Lots of topping: chip ratio, which we all know if the mark of a good nacho. Their beer list isn’t terribly lengthy but the quality is good. The real high point of this place is the back patio, though. You feel like you’ve stepped into The Secret Garden if it were set in the tropics. It’s just a gorgeous oasis in Charleston full of twinkle lights and beautiful stonework and it will be a crying shame not to be able to drink there anymore.

Loved this place! Went two nights in a row. Our biggest selling point about it was the friendly bartending staff. Brendan invited us in from the door and continued to be a great host. Also, I can’t argue with inexpensive Yuenglings! We were able to get our games on the TV as well, so it was a perfect pub for us! The only reason I’m 4 and not 5 stars is that the crowd could be a bit loud. It’s not overwhelming, but if you’re looking for a quiet beer and the game, they can sometimes be a bit distracting.

Love, love, love the courtyard at the Blind Tiger. Do yourself a favor and just keep walking through the bar until you get to this courtyard. Sit, relax and enjoy a refreshing beverage. This courtyard is one of my all-time favorite places in Charleston. I’ve eaten at the Blind Tiger a couple of times and the food is pretty much standard pub fare but everything I’ve had, from just a snack to the veggie burger, has been good. Did I mention how awesome the courtyard is?

We had concluded a walking tour nearby around noon, and were checking out some restaurants on Broad Street. The Blind Tiger had the most inclusive menu, so we went with it. We got a nice table by the window and people-watched during our meal. Our dishes were okay; I think I had a variant of a BLT. I was neither disappointed nor blown away by the meal. If you’re in the area, this is a solid contender.

Not a huge lunch selection, but the hummus and pita bread plate was perfect for an afternoon snack.

Didn’t try the food but loved the vibe here so I recommend it for at least one drink. A local took me here. Loved the courtyard atmosphere — didn’t know it at the time but according to the other reviews, it’s got some history!

Limited beer selection. Only a few taps. Menu is also very limited. It isn’t online. Maybe they’re embarrassed. The food didn’t taste all that good either. For a foodie town, you should only go to this place for drinks… and primarily mixed drinks.

Awesome well shaded back garden/patio area with lots of vegetation and multiple bars. It’s a nice place to be, while starkly contrasting with the dark multi-bar space inside.

Nice job, all inclose walking distance, no wait but I’m usually a 430 er. We had the burgers and a couple of beers on special, $ 2.50 Newcastles! Nice early dinner, biked around town then home by 9 pm.

Walked in around 3:30 on a Sunday, was told that they did not serve for 45 minutes, but we could sit for drinks. Went to the bar in he large room, was told it aw closing, so sat at table. Ordered bloody Mary for wife and a COORS for me. 10 minutes later the waitress came back with someone else said she would take care of us now! This person repeated some other drink for my wife. Some, once again, I said bloody Mary and a COORS. Almost 15 minutes later, she came back with a bloody Mary in a plastic cup and a COORSLIGHT for me. Asked her for a COORS, went to bartender was told none available. Ok, I asked for a frosted glass, said don’t have any. We were going to eat, but at this point, just asked for the check, and left. So, OK they were in a middle of a shift change, but that should be transparent to the customer. We were there to eat and were willing to wait, but that did not seem to be working for them. Went to the Griffon, they took care of us there. Frank G

I had a hard time deciding what to order, pub food vs a salad… I opted with the Greek salad, and was impressed! Large size, great light taste to the dressing, pit less olives, and pita wedges came with. Happy I gave it a chance! And I love their slogan; «We separate Church and State.»

Came here for drinks on a Friday night. At first we headed straight out back, it was crowded and smoky so we decided to head back in. We sat down at the bar and luckily the live band was just beginning to play. As the night went on more people came and it turned into a really fun time! The band was playing a lot of classic songs that everyone could sing along to. It was a great way to spend our first night in Charleston, I celebrated my birthday at midnight and the bartender gave me a free shot!

Easily one of the spots you must visit if you’re a local or from out of town. Blind Tiger always has a great crowd grabbing drinks here Fri — Sun. It’s a crowd made mostly of locals with a few out of towners. Strongly encourage people to visit their courtyard as it’s one of the oldest courtyards in Charleston from 1807. Every Tuesday is ½ price burger night and they are great. Only down fall, the food menu can be more robust. Overall, visit Blind Tiger and enjoy!

This place has always been our favorite bar in Charleston for the true southern experience. The people are incredibly friendly and the food and drink options are fantastic. I swear, you can’t go one night without some striking up a conversation with you and all of you having an amazing night. In addition, the outdoor space is amazing too, it looks untouched and very authentic. Week nights are a hit or miss, but if you call before you can get info about live music which is always great. BT has a special place in my heart, and we may even have the after-party there next year when we get married! HIGHLY recommend.

Love the outdoor area in back, such a great atmosphere. We came here with a large group for brunch and had a great time. We had bellinis and mimosas that were great and priced well. I had the french toast, bacon and sweet potato fries. Not sure what kind of bacon they use but it was awesome. Some kind of peppered bacon. French toast was really good and I so were the sweet potatoes. Everyone was really happy with the food and atmosphere. I would definitely return here again.

The Blind Tiger Pub is my kind of place — FORDRINKING! I really wish I could go back in time and not eat there. The good: The place is old and charming and they have an awesome patio area. The bad: The food was blech. I ordered the Chicken Philly, seems like a safe bet, right? Well they forgot to heat my chicken, melt the cheese or add grilled onions. I even sent it back and it only came back with some crusty old onions on it, ick. Needless to say, I won’t be back for food! Maybe to enjoy a frosty brew on their patio, but that’s it.
