Blossom, also owned by the folks at Magnolia’s and Cypress, was our 2nd dinner stop during our recent trip to Charleston. Again, we were able to walk right in and get seated, as we arrived fairly early. Also, there is free parking available next door. While the bar area isn’t so appealing, if you walk further back the restaurant opens up and is quite lovely. Our service was pretty good and the food was tasty as well. Though I was disappointed with the tuna poke. It was more like a tartare and they had taken ceviche on the menu, which is what drew us there in the first place. While a pricey option, we enjoyed it quite a bit. I gave Magnolia’s 5 stars as the food and service was better, but both were very good.

Ahi Poke and crab on a crisp tortilla apps were both good. Lobster roll was solid. She crab soup was sent back due to a complete lack of crab. I had a swordfish special that was great. Kids had fried shrimp and ate them all. Service was great, atmosphere was good. 3 star because of upscale prices and the fact that after 5 meals in Charleston, this meal left the smallest impression with the highest ticket price.

Had a great starter of the pull and eat shrimp. So tasty and tangy. Also had a bite of a friend’s fried green tomatoes. Then the Caesar salad came. The tangiest and tastiest salad I’ve ever had. I got the fried chicken small plate. Boneless and delicious. It came with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and modern. Our server, Lacey, was so kind and always asked our opinion on the taste of the meal. I really enjoyed my time here and would come again if I weren’t leaving in two days.

Everything was phenomenal! I don’t know where to start! The fish special was so fantastic including the risotto. BUT the most amazing red velvet bread pudding was out of this world! Seriously, I don’t pass on dessert! Oh, the service was so sweet! Loved it!

Solid option along the river bank with a higher end appeal. Service prompt and pleasant. Nice atmosphere. Comfortable seating. We ordered the burger and fries. It was fine nothing special. Nice bun. Started with chorizo and polenta appetizer that was kind of bland. More like kielbasa! I had salmon and mashers and spinach. It was good but not special. Worthy.

Blossom was not a great experience. We came for brunch, on the early side of Subday — the restaurant was not busy at all yet. Got a bloody mary, and it was rather plain. Needed to add salt and hot sauce(which the waitress forgot to bring). We asked for bread to go with the food, and it arrived way early. It was good, but got way cold by the time food got here. We asked for some fresh hot toast, and it arrived after we finished the food, AND they charged extra for it. Eggs benedict were not great either — the pulled pork was actually incredibly sweet, killing the savoury profile of the dish. One of the poached eggs was done perfectly runny, but the other was well overcooked, closer to hard boiled than poached. Service was disappointing also, given how few people were dining at the time. After forgetting the hot sauce, and being late with the toast, the waitress did not make much of an appearance in between, to check on pur drinks, or whether we liked the food. With so many great brunch options all around, we won’t be coming back.

Enjoyed very much. 4 people in my party with two seafood eaters and two non-seafood eaters. All of us from Midwest(MO, KS and MN). All of us found something we loved. The service was excellent. Knowledgable and attentive servers. Made reservation late in the day and not too busy so probably could have walked in and got a table right away. Ordered 3 apps, 4 different dinner entrees and red velvet dessert. Everyone at table gives this meal 5 stars. Loved it and will definitely recommend to friends.

I came here with a friend for restaurant week which is a 3 for $ 30 menu. I had the smoked salmon pâté, which was a first for me. All the components tasted great to me, but it was hard to get the capers and arugula to stay on the toasts. I found out after the fact that this place is suppose to specialize in fish. I ordered the beef short ribs. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly… better than how I’ve had them at more expensive restaurants. The short ribs were perfectly tender. Dessert was a cream cheese fudge brownie. This was delicious as well. The service was as great as the food. For those of you that like to check out the bathroom, it was clean! Parking was easy and free, which is a big plus for the area. Blossom, Cypress, and Magnolias use the lot. It was a short 1 or 2 block walk from the lot to the restaurant.

Nice rest but a little hard to get into with larger groups. We originally had a reservation for Magnolas but based on availability we were suggested here. We were quickly seated and service was brisk and professional. Wine service was excellent and waitress made a great wine selection for the table. The food was tasty and the Tuna selection was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals and all had a great desert, we each ordered on and shared. We plan to go back shortly.

We ate at Blossom on a cold Sunday night and it wasn’t very busy. The restaurant had an onstage kitchen. Great classic décor. The service was excellent. My meal was great. I went with the Tuna rare with Coconut Rice. The server was very good and attentive. For dessert we all shared the Red Velvet Bread Pudding. This was really tasty! All all our meals were great! The strip steak looked excellent. I would DEFINATELY return to Blossom.

This place was well worth my high ratings. The ambiance was the perfect mood for a nice date. The waiter(John) was very attentive and communicated very well. If you decide to visit this restaurant, please ask to be seated with him. I ordered the ½ dozen oysters and the Mahi-mahi. John really sold this special to me because I was honestly was tempted to order the lobster but with no regrets, it was the best choice. The fish was perfect. It was moist with a little crisp at the top. The polenta cake dipped in the pistachio purée(trust me, it’s very savoring) made the dish absolutely perfect. It also came with asparagus that was perfectly cooked(not chewy). My partner ordered the fried green tomatoes but I must say, I’ve had better. It was kind of bland to me. My overall experience was perfect and I will STRONGLY advice anyone to experience this place. As a sworn foodie, I WILLBEBACK. (Prices range from $ 15-$ 35)

The wine was awesome. The smoked shrimp was awesome(except the waiter took the dish away before we were finished. WHY!!!) The steak was absolutely fabulous and cooked perfectly. My dinner pals raved about the scallops which also looked and smelled really good. The décor is really nice and I liked the bar seating.

Absolutely great. We stopped for brunch and I ordered the Mahi Mahi and it was absolutely delicious! The crab soup was also spectacular. The service was great. The restaurant was clean filled with great people and it wasn’t even that noisy. They also have outside seating but it was way too hot to sit outside. I would recommend anyone to come if they would like a nice seafood meal. The prices are not bad either. It ranges from $ 11 – 25. It could be 5 stars if they had more lunch options in the brunch menu(we walked in at 12:30pm) because there were a lot of breakfast options.

As a party of 7, we knew it was difficult to get into places for meals in Charleston on the weekend, so we called the day before to make reservations at a non peak time of 2:30pm. We were given the Brunch Menu to order from. The restaurant offers complimentary parking for its guests, so you just park in the lot next to the building and get your ticket stamped by the restaurant — this makes dining here super convenient! Ambience: the building is beautiful, sleek, has lots of natural light, and is overall more on the formal side, which we didn’t realize until we came in, so we felt a tiny bit under-dressed. The service itself was mediocre and I expected more from this restaurant. The waitress was not very friendly or helpful when it came to asking her questions about the menu, and someone in our party ordered a sweet tea that we had to ask about twice before finally asking another server bring it out. The food thankfully was great. Some of us split the«She Crab» soup — which was a thick cream based soup that was full of crab flavor and had generous amounts of crab in it! I ordered the Pan Roasted Mahi Mahi with butter poached shrimp, creamy rice pirloo, tomato butter — the fish was not dry, the shrimp were tender, and the rice pirloo + tomato butter(which was more like a soup/sauce) were an excellent complement to the fish! My mom and husband both ordered the Crawfish & Shrimp Étouffée that came with andouille sausage, Geechie Boy grits — and both loved it, including my mom who doesn’t normally like grits. Other people in our group enjoyed the Blossom Benedict and the Brisket. Because we heard so much about the«Red Velvet Bread Pudding» we ordered one just to see if it really was as good as other Unilocalers had described, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I normally avoid bread pudding, but this one was delicious! It came with«strawberry cheesecake icecream» which tasted like fresh strawberries and paired well with the bread pudding. Overall, it was a delicious experience. If you’re a smaller party, you might be able to enjoy such food at a normal meal hour on the weekend :)

Blossom is a quaint place in the French Quarter of Charleston. The service was timely and good. I ordered the buttermilk fried calamari and the pan roasted mahi mahi($ 16). The calamari was delicious. They were thick cuts and the batter melted in your mouth. The pan roasted mahi mahi came with creamy rice pirloo and tomato butter, which was delicious. The mahi mahi was so dry that I had to eat tiny portions of the mahi mahi at a time in proportion to the rice to offset it.

Blossom is a very beautiful restaurant. Service was fine, not overly friendly but attentive. Fried Green Tomatoes — cooked well and the tomato butter and pepper jelly were a nice addition. Mustard Fried Catfish — wish I was prepared for how seriously this fish was going to be fried. It was almost like they fried a piece of chicken… felt way too thick and I wasn’t able to enjoy the fish. Also, the breading/fried crust was extremely salty. The butter beans were extremely bland. The best part of the dish was the lemon horseradish aioli and fried polenta(also a bit too salty). Red velvet bread pudding and lemon cream cheese cake were both good. FYI the gnocchi is NOT vegetarian, they use a chicken broth which is apparently very strong. We had a veg head in our party who accidentally ordered it and could definitely taste it. Very few filling vegetarian options on the menu. Wish the restaurant realized that vegetarians eat more than just grilled vegetables… we don’t call that dinner.

After deciding we did not want to wait for two hours for the restaurant many recommended to my travel buddy and I, we decided to try Blossom, who had immediate seating. This surprised me as the front looks tiny and quaint, but it is really rather large and can accommodate many once inside. The friendly server suggested with try the Local, a refreshing cocktail for a relaxing late spring night after a day at the beach. She then brought us bread that was flavored with sea salt and rosemary and an herbed compound butter, providing excitement on my pallet. I of course had to have oysters in the half shell being this close to the ocean. They hit the spot. I did have to ask for some Tabasco. I am used to having my oysters Louisiana style with Tabasco and horse radish, neither were served with them. My dinner mate had the seared scallops over chowder. For me, not a warm weather option, but was very good, but very heavy. We both had a side salad. I like lighter dressings and had the balsamic, which was perfect for me. My friend tried the champagne vinaigrette which was tasty — fair warning it has a tangy kick.

Absolutely delicious dinner! We started with the buttermilk fried artichokes(my favorite), the Spinach salad and the Butter lettuce salad. The Spinach salad was unique with the bacon jam at the bottom and the roasted beets. For dinner, I had the scallops. They were out of this world! The fingerling potatoes, spinach and scallops were delicious. For dessert, we shared the Vanilla Crème Brûlée and the Chocolate mocha cake. Both were perfectly cooked. The mocha ice cream with the cake was just right. Our server was very attentive, and took care of everything we needed. Delicious food, excellent service… all we needed!

Dined at the Blossom for brunch for the first time and really found the experience pleasurable. We arrived about a quarter till 11 and were seated right away in the back room. The dining area in the back of the restaurant is quite beautiful and bright. The natural light from the windows even came in well enough to make it feel as though we were seated outside. My husband ordered the Chicken and Waffles while I ordered the Apple Wood Smoked Brisket with Sweet Corn Cakes. The Chicken was moist, seasoned well and coated with a pecan coating that gave the chicken great texture. The waffle though was slightly on the dry side but was still good especially when paired with the chicken and maple syrup. My dish, the Brisket with Sweet Corn Cakes, served with a bourbon maple syrup was absolutely delicious! I’m a huge fan of sweet and savory and this dish was just that. The Brisket was smoky, moist and very flavorful while the corn cakes were sweet, fluffy and slightly crispy around the edges. The bourbon maple syrup just added to the dish as well. My only criticism is that I feel the brisket literally gets lost in the plating. Hidden underneath the sweet corn cakes it’s difficult to see where the brisket is and although this might sound minor, I feel that the brisket should be presented as the star of the dish, not hidden underneath two sweet corn cakes. In my opinion, they could easily ditch the third cake on top of the brisket and showcase the brisket on top and still present a fabulous and tasty dish. Our only disappointment was that service and wait time seemed a bit long for the amount the people that were in the restaurant at the time but thankfully it was well worth the wait.
