My husband and I loved this gallery after being there for only a few minutes. The art is both beautiful and interesting and the gallery owners were very kind and friendly. I receive the emails from the studio and even the art that I don’t see in person is really amazing.

Wife and I lived in Charleston for an entire year(on a work assignment) and we always visited the Robert Lange Studios gallery whenever we found ourselves downtown. They are a world-class gallery, on-par with any of my favorites in NY or LA. The brick and wood-floor interior is big and warmly inviting. They have a stunning array of talented artists, carefully curated(with an emphasis on realism). The people who work there are very friendly and approachable. They even have a big wood swinging bench you can sit on and take your time pondering the incredible artworks in the larger back room. You can also go into the owners studio upstairs and watch him paint! We’ve spent many joyful hours in this place. We’ve since moved away but are always excited to return to Charleston, a city we love, and to this gallery, a MUST-SEE.

Rob, the owner of the gallery is one of the best artists and kindest people I’ve met. I’m in awe of the work that is produced and displayed here. Rob is the kind of person who will go out of his way to make sure others are satisfied with the experience. For me, not only is the art worth the visit, but I enjoy attending places that are run by someone who is concerned about the welfare of their clients.

Charleston is my family’s second home, and I always make it a point to come to RLS when I’m in town. You can’t find a cooler, more creative gallery. The collection of artists are all fresh with unique points of view in classic, modern, and quirky portraits and landscapes of all kinds. I have found some of my favorite pieces of art there. I still pine over a piece I waited to long to say«yes» too and came back to a SOLD sign. You also can’t compare Robert’s own amazing work to anything else you’ll ever find. His art looks like actual photographs — some of which are quiet realistic scenes, and others which make you double take if it’s possible to be reality then you notice it’s actually just a fantastically realistic painting. The staff is also very knowledgeable and helpful if asked, but not at all pushy. I highly recommend a browse, even if you’re not in the market to see one of Charleston(and I would argue the US’ gallery gems).

I lived in Charleston SC for a couple of years and going to Robert Lange Studios was one of the greatest highlights of my time there. They have the most delightful contemporary gallery in town. And this is the friendliest group of folks in the art scene in Charleston! Since I am a rather inexperienced art collector, they made me feel very comfortable asking questions and making it easy for me to start collecting a few pieces that continue to delight my world! Their eclectic group of artists keep things intriguing each month, and their gallery shows are the most lively, delightful, parties in town. Whenever I hear of friends making a trip to Charleston, I tell them they must go to RLS!

Robert Lange Studios is an amazing place. It doesn’t feel stuffy — it’s inspiring — the kind of place that makes even the most unimaginable person feel creative. Stop in during one of the art walks and check out the work on display at the Vendue.

Whenever I am in Charleston, I always make it a point to visit RLS. It is like visiting a Zen garden in the middle of downtown. Regardless of what time of year it is or which paintings are being displayed, the space in combination with the energy and uniqueness of each piece of art always evoke a sense of harmony. Everything simply belongs where it is; everything makes sense. It is clear that Rob and Megan know how to create a space full of positivity as well as a community of thoughtful and visionary artists. Furthermore, whenever I learn that a friend has plans to travel to Charleston, I always recommend RLS. So far, everyone I know has enjoyed it as much as I do.

This is a gallery for the people — everyone who visits Charleston should stop by. I should preface this by saying that I’m not necessarily an art person. I mean, I appreciate beautiful things, but I don’t *know* things about art. And yet, I visit RLS every single time I visit Charleston(which is often, because I have family there), no matter what is currently on display. Why? Because Rob and Megan Lange are so exceptional at selecting artists that I know with 100% certainty that I will enjoy whatever is on the walls at the time. Rob and Megan are also brilliant artists, and seeing their work on display is an absolute treat. Over the years, the gallery has grown and evolved and I enjoy it more and more with each visit. I credit RLS with getting me more excited about and interested in art. When I say that it is a gallery for the people, I mean it. Absolutely everyone is welcome on an opening night or anytime. There is nothing snooty or pretentious about this place. You don’t have to be an «art person» or know anything about art. You don’t have to dress up, you can bring your kids(there’s a swing inside!). Everyone there will answer questions and make you feel completely welcome. It’s not right on King Street, but that’s a bonus because the neighborhood is beautiful and absolutely worth an extra walk or bike ride. Seriously, don’t miss this one. And don’t let the price rating on Unilocal scare you — the art may have a price tag, but it’s totally free to visit!

Best gallery in Charleston. Love Lange’s work and Nathan Durfee as well. The Friday gallery openings along Queen Street are so nice, and perfect for a date night.

RLS features fine contemporary artwork with a focus on hyperrealism with an occasional touch of surrealism in Rob’s pieces. Megan and Robert and their gallery director Curry are so welcoming and helpful, full of knowledge about the artwork and friendly to all who come through their doors, no matter how busy they might be.

An inviting/welcoming gallery with amazing art! Perfect place to pop in while wandering the streets of beautiful Charleston… to be pleasantly surprised with the warm connection and ease of conversation with RLS’s friendly gallery owners and artists. RLS truly makes art approachable and does a wonderful job of inviting visitors in to a beautiful experience.

This is my favorite gallery by far — and just an overall great place to hangout. The artists featured here are all extremely talented(and varying in their artistic styles) and with a new featured exhibit each month, the gallery is constantly changing. Yet, there is always that familiarity and comfort when walking through the doors; it’s as if one is walking into their own personal gallery at home. The owners are wonderful people(and artists in their own right), as is the curator Curry, who is an absolute delight that is quick to great you with a warm smile upon entering. I recommend a visit to this gallery to all guests in town, so if you are ever in the French Quarter/East Bay area, definitely stop in. From flip flops to bow ties, this is truly a place where«all are welcome» so stop in to enjoy this wonderful hangout.

Absolutely tops. a great place to see great art. Roberts was there painting during my last visit. He works long hours and produces(lately) some astounding work. My favorite was already sold, an imagining of a waterfall in the Amazon, with people swinging on ropes over the raging falls — attention to detail was amazing. Many other good artists to view.

Simply the best gallery in town for viewing solid emerging and established artists with a contmporary style. In a town with so many remarkable galleries, this one is a brilliant ray of awesomeness. Not to be missed
