The location of the restaurant is its best feature. Right on the water. Fantastic view if u want to wait for an outside table. But if u want to get seated right away get a table inside as my girlfiend and myself did. We arrived around lunchtime on a Saturday it was very busy as a cruise ship was docked. I think the first thing we both noticed right away how the noisy it was inside the restaurant. So prevalent i had to keep repeating myself to my girlfriend. As far as the food it was good. my girlfriend had the pimento burger she really liked it. I had the shrimp po-boy. Classically prepared lettuce, tomato, spicy mayo shrimp. We also had the spinach artichoke dip as a starter. I was skeptical but it was one of the best we have had. Not sure if i would return when we visit again being that are a ton of options in the area.

Stopped in for dinner following a conference. Wonderfully attentive staff from the first step through the door. Had reservations for 530 and were seated immediately on arrival. The building itself has wonderful ambience reflecting its history. Clean and well appointed with a cozy and warm but not overcrowded atmosphere. The menu had wonderful options to please all and specials as well. The wine list was reflective of the size of he restaurant but had plenty of great options. Only con here is parking. Small lot and a little dicey getting in and out. But overall a great place to grab a meal! Would definitely visit again!

We have been coming to Charleston for years. This restaurant has become one of our faves. The location is perfect and is right on the water. The food is consistently good. The atmosphere is a little loud if you sit inside. There is outside seating that is nice when it is warmer. I would recommend reservations too. It was my birthday and they brought out a free key lime piece of pie with a candle too. Parking is tight but your meal is worth it.

Food was good, but nothing extra ordinary. We had Fried Oysters with Southern Comfort Barbeque Sauce, Pan-Fried Carolina Lump Crab Cake, Crispy Steak Calamari and Char-Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Southern Slaw and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Price was decent, it wasn’t overly expensive. Customer service was great from the beginning ’til the end. Restaurant was clean and had an outstanding view. Overall experience was good. I would recommend this restaurant, but I wouldn’t brag about it.

We ate here this past Saturday for lunch. We planned to check out the Food Truck Rodeo, but couldn’t stand the massive crowd, the unorganized chaos, and the long lines. The weather was beautiful, so we decided to sit outside on the deck. It was 2pm at this point, but there was a wait. Thankfully, I had made an OpenTable reservation, and we got seated immediately. I used to love Fleet, but over the last six or seven years, it has become more of a tourist destination and chain-like(read: quantity over quality). The food was okay, but I will not be returning anytime soon. The service was horrific. I don’t normally post reviews on service unless it’s superior, but this was so bad I have to say something. I think we saw our waitress three times — once to order drinks, once to order food, and then once to refill our drinks after we were done eating/bring the check. The other server on the deck was constantly checking on her tables, whereas we couldn’t find ours. She did come out and wait on other tables behind us, but she never came over to us. I’m not one to stick my hand up or stare at a server until they catch my eye, though the thought to do any of those things crossed my mind, but it just wasn’t worth it. We ordered the crab dip to start. We never saw it(nor did we see our waitress to ask about it). I ordered the Flank Steak salad which used to be a mainstay for me. It wasn’t as good as I had remembered, but it wasn’t bad either. The two other dishes ordered were the fried flounder(kid’s menu) and the Blackened Triggerfish sandwich. Those two dishes were well liked. Bottom line: While Fleet used to be one of my go-to’s, I will not be visiting anytime soon. Edit(2÷3÷16): Stephanie from Fleet contacted me which I really appreciated. Maybe I’ll be back sooner than anticipated.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous day in Charleston – 72º in January, and not a cloud in the sky. Fleet Landing is one of my long-time favorite gems, not only because of the great food, but because it is located just steps from Waterfront Park and overlooks the Charleston harbor. We were seated outside, and had a great view of the pier, the salt marsh, and the Ravenel. It truly was a picture perfect afternoon. Both of us got the blackened triggerfish sandwich with shoestring style fries. The sandwich was prepared with lettuce, tomato, pepperjack cheese, and an avocado aioli, served on a toasted roll. It was a bit too much bread for my tastes, but the fish was fantastic – fresh, and perfectly blackened. Our server was attentive, and the price was reasonable, coming in at $ 27 for two people – two sandwiches and two iced teas. I highly recommend Fleet Landing, and look forward to my return in the very near future.

Lunch here on a Tuesday. The views are very nice here, but try to sit outside if possible because the noise is intolerable after 10 minutes. Concrete floors, a huge dining area, and high ceilings lead to the usual volume escalation as people get louder to be able to hear each other. Our daughter just could not take the noise. Food was overseasoned– it is pretty tough to mess up grilled salmon, but they managed it. Service is friendly but slow, even after the lunch rush.

We went to Fleet Landing for lunch today. Our experience was great. Awesome food & service! We ordered crispy flounder, shrimp & grits, Caesar salad, stuffed hush puppies, & seafood gumbo. Also 2 kids meals(fried flounder & shrimp with fries). Everything was fresh, well seasoned, & delicious!

The food here is hit or miss but you can’t beat the amazing waterfront view with outdoor seating. The staff is always friendly and helpful at making food suggestions. Don’t expect to be seated quickly if you arrive during peak times. They do accept reservations which I recommend making: or enjoy a beverage at the bar until a seat becomes available!

Best. Chopped. Salad. Ever. Seriously, so good. Black-eyed peas, what! I also added blacked chicken. Delicious. Everyone at my table really enjoyed their meals. The server was so nice and very attentive. We just happened to drive by this place on the water taxi and noticed that they had a great view and patio on the water. We went to the aquarium(a few blocks away) and then stopped by here for lunch. It was a beautiful Friday and it was packed when we arrived, but they were at the end of their lunch crowd so things calmed down. It is pretty big, so lots of tables. We sat inside, but there was plenty of views of the water from the big windows. They have an awesome bar on the outside that opens to the restaurant. What a great place for happy hour! I did have some basil lemonade cocktail and it was delicious. The outside of this place from the road does not do it justice! I will totally return.

My friend Ashley S. recommended Fleet Landing ahead of my Charleston trip(re: Popecation). It was a spot on suggestion! I walked in pretty grumbly because I told the hostess about my reservation and she responded, «Ok. It’ll be about 10 minutes» in the most apathetic tone possible and handed me a Red Lobster circa 2000-esque buzzer. Better way to phrase: «Thanks for checking in! We’re setting up your table, and we’ll call you as soon as possible.» Once seated, the situation greatly improved. Our server was originally from the Northeast and was lively and helpful. Between my mother and myself, we must have asked him 100 questions and he handled us gracefully. In the end, I went down the boring route and chose a chicken caesar salad. It was really enjoyable, though! [Note here: I don’t eat seafood.] I forget what my mom ordered, but it was some sort of seafood and there’s probably a photo attached. I just know she liked it. We also split the spinach dip, which was awesome. Also: Props to this place for carrying Holy City’s porter. After my glass here, I hightailed it to the brewery! Generally a positive experience here, and it was right on the water to boot!

Atmosphere: It’s a cute ship theme which is very fitting since it is next to where a carnival cruise ship departs. We sat outside which had lovely views. Staff: Our waitress was okay, nothing special and a little too chatty for my liking. Wasn’t very attentive and never got my drink refill. Food: I had the shrimp po’ boy which was nothing special. Pretty bland tasting mostly just fried shrimp on a bun. My slaw was pretty tasty. We started with a dozen raw oysters which were local and yummy. Really I wasn’t very impressed. With Charleston being such a foodie place this place was a real dissapointment.

I’m a fan solely based off the few scallops that I ate. Yes, three scallops later and bam, four star review. Makes perfect sense. But really, the scallops were perfection. If I had to choose a meal to gorge on before I die, these scallops would be a contender. And the Rosemary Moscow Mule that I sipped on might be in the running as well. I deducted a star because it was jammed packed at 11:30 in the morning with people waiting outside and all over the bar for a place to sit. I was lucky enough to be eating here as part of a food passport tour thingy but man, it would be lousy to wait in such crammed quarters like so many were. Plus it’s loud, really loud. Then again, who needs to talk when you can eat the best scallops of your life.

Food yummy. Very nice, competent, efficient and attentive staff.(We were splitting dishes so they gave extra plates with each course. They were careful about a food allergy, etc) At 9pm on a Wed there was still a bit of a wait, and we had a reservation! So, be patient. At least they have those buzzer things so you can walk around. You can also go to the bar. Biscuits: piping hot— yes please!!! So good. Soft. Good floury taste. Butter with touch of honey. Fried green tomatoes: smaller than I anticipated. Very tasty crab salad stacked between them. She Crab soup: very creamy. A little kick of spicy(just a tad). Very good tho not amazing. Shrimp and grits: this is my first time trying it. Yum! The plate tho looked so bland. Made me think of «plop» scoop of whatever with gravy on top ala cafeterias. But maybe they always look this plain(after all what else would you add for color?). It was damn yummy. Hubby and I split all of the above and it was the perfect amount! It was dark so we can’t comment on the view. The décor inside was cool(all nautical, down to the separations between the tables, maps on the tables). I like the cloth napkins. I don’t like that you have to use your same silverware with each course.

DISCLAIMER: This review is based solely on my experience at the bar, as I did not eat anything during my one and only visit. Therefore, my 4 star review is for the bar and the views of the water. I had the occasion to visit Fleet Landing Restaurant after a 3 day conference in Charleston and the purpose of our visit was simply to have a few drinks before having dinner at another location. The restaurant/bar is located behind the U.S. Customs House on Concord Avenue and is right on the water overlooking Charleston Harbor. The building itself is no engineering marvel, and it screams«old school» as it was built in the 1940’s for the U.S. Navy and sat vacant for years. In the 1980’s, it was renovated and rendered«hurricane proof», if there is truly such a thing. The restaurant was packed upon our arrival, and even if we wanted to eat, there was a pretty long wait for a table; especially since we had a group of 10 or so people. There is seating for approximately 175 people inside and another 100 or so on the humongous outdoor wrap-around patio. There was probably another 50 – 75 people just hanging out at the bar and socializing. This was a huge bar and could probably sustain this business without even having to serve any food at all. I took my drink and went outside to the back patio and enjoyed a stellar view of Charleston Harbor. The view of Fort Sumter in the distance kicked my nostalgia meter into overdrive. Maybe the alcohol had something to do with it too, but I digress. I wished we would have chosen to eat here, because I was in no hurry to leave. There was free parking for 30 or so cars, which is not nearly enough for this place, but there are plenty of parking lots nearby. All in all it was a great social experience and one I hope to repeat on any future trips to Charleston.

Dined here on a Friday night, Memorial Day weekend. Upon arriving there was a mix-up with our reservation and we were first told the wait would be 50 minutes, then the hostess changed her mind and said she would get us in as soon as possible, I still didn’t feel too confident, however we did only wait 25 minutes. When I went to the front desk she was completely nice about it and apologized for the confusion(which she failed to do at first), so I’m not sure what was going on when we arrived. We were able to snag seats at the indoor bar. There is a small outdoor area with a little bar but it was packed with people. This place is right on the water so I can understand its popularity. We were sat at a table on the deck outside next to the large window. We ordered the stuffed hush puppies to start with; they were very big and stuffed with shrimp, lobster and corn. Overall they were just okay, the actual hush puppy was extremely dry and the sauce was ok. A big pet peeve of mine is shrimp that isn’t deveined or cleaned properly, so I could not enjoy the stuffing as the shrimp was not clean. My husband didn’t care for the dish either. For dinner I ordered the special, the mahi mahi, blackened, with green beans and mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. My mahi mahi was SO salty; unfortunately it took over the entire dish and made it really hard to eat. On the upside the mahi mahi was clearly very fresh and juicy, the flavor was just bad. The green beans were good and crispy and the mashed potatoes were great. When the shrimp and grits arrived it honestly looked like gumbo, there was so much sauce on the plate you barely see the grits or shrimp! However the flavor was really good, some of the shrimp were clean so I ate some of them and the Andouille sausage was good. All in all it was an okay meal, we were glad to try this place but won’t be back when we visit again.

My wife and I went there while we were visiting Charleston, we had a great time there! We didn’t have a reservation so waited about an hour, which I would definitely recommend to make a reservation before you go. The server is pretty awesome! Drinks came quick and so as the food! I didn’t need to wait much after we got sat down! They first serve the biscuit which is not bad. We order a crab cake and a whole fried flounder for our dinner. The crab cake is decent, wouldn’t recommend because I think it’s a little over-priced. The whole flounder is awesome! Great flavor, big portion, fair price! Sauce is kinda sweet with a little sour flavor in it, didn’t over-cooked the fish, it’s just perfect! The only thing that I would really pick on would be the sweet tea… for being a great southern place… That tea is not sweet enough with a little bitter taste in it.

Preismässig dabei eher im Mittelfeld, was sehr angehm auffiel.
