Henry House has that old timey– prestigious atmosphere paired with quality drinks. If you haven’t gone up to the whiskey room yet you are missing out.

So so so much fun! They had a band that was so good. We had lots of drinks in a corner booth! Sang and danced the night away

Stopped by for their 5−8pm happy hour. They have yuelingling beer for $ 2 during their HH. I’m super excited about that since they don’t have yuelingling in California. They have drink specials but not food specials. Had their bar menu so we got their pulled pork sliders on biscuits and the crab cakes. They were pretty good.

My fiancé and I went to Henry’s for dinner and to tour the venue for our rehearsal dinner. The staff had set up a private dinner for us in the whiskey bar, and completely took care of us. The food was amazing– we had alligator bites, bison burgers, and chocolate molten lava cake. The craft drinks in the whiskey bar were by far our favorite. They have the best bourbon selection in town– and the bartenders are very knowledgable and helpful! The rooftop patio, live music, and history of the place is so charming! Definitely having our rehearsal dinner here!

Delicious cocktail, quick service, warm atmosphere. Try the tequila and coconut, I cannot remember the name but it is the best drink I’ve had in Charleston, but know I do not drink bourbon or whiskey so tequila is my liquor of choice.

Arrive with a positive attitude and you will be loved. Capone is knock out gorgeous, but more so he’s top notch, knows how to run a bar, keeps the environment fun and crazy-happy. Music changes nightly; all ages are appropriate; food is great! Come say hey!

I love the food! Their new drink menus was awesome. My husband and I were hoping to enjoy the roof top however it was a little chilly the night that we went. We ordered only appetizers such as the crab bites, spinach dip and fried green tomatoes. All of it was absolutely delicious! I also has a drink called the batter something I forgot the rest and I was AMAZING

My family of four came here for lunch on a Saturday. I wasn’t super hungry, so I ordered the fried green tomato appetizer($ 8) as my meal. It consisted of 5 large slices of tomatoes and a few sauces. It tasted good, but not in my top three I’ve ever tasted. My parents split the she crab soup($ 2 upcharge) and the special which had scallops, shrimp, crab cakes, and flounder. It was a good portion for two people and my parents also said it was a-ok. The did all agree however that the she crab soup was the best that they had ever had. And they have had a lot of she crab soup. My sister got the mini fish and chips($ 8) which was a great lunch portion. She said the tartar was really good. The server was nice enough, but could probably use some additional training. One example: he brought me the wrong dish and when I asked said he thought that was what I had ordered. It was fixed quick enough though, so no harm no foul. A few more refills would have been nice too. Over all, the prices were decent for the servings, the location is right off the Market, and the service was average. I wouldn’t discourage you from checking it out, but I’ll be trying some of the many other options in the area next time I’m near by. If you do go however, you MUST get Henry’s She Crab Soup.

Can one really rate a place on drinks only? Don’t think it a true grade… that said, I can tell you this is a super cool looking place with a great bar and intriguing menu, I have seen enough to know I will go back and I will adjust this when I get dinner. If you are walking bye it is absolutely worth the stop!

I would give this zero stars if I could. Their electronic bartending system didn’t work(not the bartenders fault at all, they rocked and even assured us that they were having and issue with bouncers AKADONOTGO) but the bouncers were the biggest assholes. They told us told us to get the f*** out of the bar even though we were working with the bartender to close our tabs. I was verbally assaulted by the bouncers and my boyfriend got mad(for obvious reasons why would you assault a girl #1, and #2 it was their fault not ours when we could not close our tab because their system was down) they ended up calling the cops while we were waiting and the cops agreed with us that the bouncers should not have verbally assaulted me or any of us due to their error. This bar is a piece of poop. Do not go ever for any reason

This review is just on the night life here. I’ve never had their food here and I’ve never been here before 9pm. This is where I went go to party, dance, drink and listen to live music. I loved coming here on the weekends. The first floor is a large bar with lots of seating and tables. The second floor has a mini bar with a small area for bands/musicians to play live music. There are tables to sit and enjoy the music and a little dance area. The third floor has a large and small bar and a dance floor with a DJ playing hits. There’s always people dancing on the dance floor. There is also a VIP area on this floor away from all of this. There is a staircase that leads to the roof top where there are tables and chairs to drink, lounge and hang out. I enjoyed coming here late night on weekends because of all these options. I could dance to a DJ or listen to live music or just relax and drink while looking into the sky. It was always a fun time. There were so many different people that come here. There were older people, dressed up females, dudes in casual and fancy clothes, hippies, etc. You could find anyone here. The bar tenders and other staff members are really nice and friendly. One night at bar close, I was standing a few feet away from Henry’s waiting for my ride. Some creepy drunk dude comes up to my friend and I, right in my face, almost touching me and starts to ramble obscene things. The bouncer at Henry’s came between me and this dude and told him to go away. Thank goodness that happened, I was so relieved. I didn’t even notice there were bouncers around. Apparently, he just saw the situation, how uncomfortable I was and intervened. I was grateful that he was around watching the crazy crowd of people.

Seat on the rooftop for lunch, nice views of horse carriages and Market downtown Charleston. Had the crab cake sandwich. VERY good, crab was fresh, bun toasted perfect. Side of grits were the best I’ve had so far.

A friend and i when to Henry’s for a late night drink while visiting Charleston. The whiskey bar on the 2nd floor is what caught our attention! they had a great selection of whiskey to try but be warned there are no prices on the menu so if you are unsure ask as some drink can be expensive. The bartender was super nice and made the whole bar area feel welcome and provided some great insight and recommendations. There was live music but it was not of the greatest of quality. Was a great place to have a drink and chat with the various people visiting

I always visit Henry’s when in Charleston. Tyler took great care of me and my boyfriend and happily suggested other great spots in the area. He made a perfect Bulleit Manhattan and the fried green tomatoes were delicious!

The reviews about horrible service are true. A group of 4 of us sat on the rooftop for dinner and drinks. The service started out slow, but we were kept informed at first, so tried to remain understanding. We were told a team of servers would be taking care of us, however, we only had one person ever assist us. We waited about 10 minutes to place a drink order, about 15 more to get them and about 15 more to order appetizers(should have ordered food at this point)…finally ordered food, appetizers never came, food came, ordered more drinks, never got them, the trend continues… at one point we hadn’t seen our server even walk by for about a half hour. To their defense the restaurant has a horrible system, the servers were going down two flights of stairs and back to serve on the customers on the rooftop despite there being a bar available on the 2nd story. The actual food was decent, but nothing compared to other great spots in town.

Popped in for an appetizer and drinks… whoa, the Spanish pimento cheese dip is AMAZING!!! So good! And the crispy flatbread is thick and perfect compliment… dusted with parmesan cheese… we devoured it and our drinks. Wine and beer selection selection was so-so but that dip! Yum!

Great food despite the nasty atmosphere. We sat at a high booth which had torn cushions and was sticky. It was also very dark which would be acceptable around 8 or so but it was only 5. The bathrooms are disgusting and cramped. There was a plenty of cockroaches in there. I was glad to leave but the food was fine. If you are dead set on trying their food try takeout maybe?

Very fun place to stop in for some late/later evening drinks. The bartenders are very friendly and entertaining. The drinks are reasonably priced and strong. They can make a VERY good margarita, which comes with some Grand Marnier as any good margarita should. The more common liquors are served out of a very unique overhead contraption that they hold the glasses up to. I have a feeling it’s more to make you feel good about getting a measured pour without realizing it, but the drinks were strong either way so perhaps they’ve set it that way intentionally. The clientele is a mixture of all types, which make sit fun both for conversation and people watching. I was there probably 1am on a Friday night and there were younger people, older, cargo shorts, suits, hipsters, etc. It was fun; great bar to hang out at and enjoy. When the bill came, it made me enjoy it even more as I expected it to be higher.

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and have a cocktail. Got a table on the roof and had a Sazerac. It was good, but not as good as the one at Rarebit. Our friends tried the Southern Crush and that was good as well. Nice server and nice place to sit when the weather is nice. We didn’t try the food so I can comment on that, but give this place a try if you are in Charleston.
