Horrible service. We waited 45 minutes for pancakes and never got them. The place was empty at 2 am. We got up and walked out.

I don’t write bad reviews. When I don’t enjoy my experience I generally just don’t go back. There are several reasons I am making an exception this time. I was so excited for this IHOP to open! I go to the one in West Ashley quite often and it never disappoints. THIS one however is the worst place on James Island. Today makes my 5th visit and my last visit. Every single time I have been there was immediate seating and then… nothing…for an inappropriate and obscenely long time. This time we showed up at about 11:00. It was a good 15 minutes before anyone took our drink and order and another 35 before our«Quick» Two Egg Breafasts were brought out. The place was basically EMPTY, there were maybe 4 tables in the entire place. The ONLY good thing I can say is the server was polite and apologetic. She was tipped well despite the terrible experience. After I ate I went into the ladies restroom and it was trashed. Dirty floors, paper all over the floor, and 2 of the 4 toilets clogged and nasty. I was appalled and did not use the facilities. I even took several pics I plan to email to corporate. This place is a disgrace.

Worst service ever! Sat at the table for 25 minutes with screaming kids before we got our drinks. Food came 50 minutes later. Bacon was raw and had to send it back. They forgot half the order after all that. All the reviews are accurate. This place sucks!!!

An awful experience. Had to ask hostess for menus after being seated for 15 minutes. Took 10 minutes for server to come ask for drinks. Took an hour for our food to come out(it wasn’t even hot) and silverware took another 10 minutes to come out. Server did not check on us once during that hour. Management did not handle complaints in a satisfactory manner/at all. This IHOP does not value their customers and quality service. Upon asking for silverware(after the food arrived) the manager jokingly suggested that«you’ll just have to eat with your hands today» when we were ALREADYEATINGWITHOURHANDS because we were STARVING waiting an HOUR for COLD food.

Just waited an hour and a half to get food. When it finally showed up half was burnt, and the other half was cold. One of us ended up with something completely different than what we ordered. Our server was MIA for the majority of our visit.

Usual fast and hot breakfast meal, with full jug of coffee. Judy was my waitress, no frills, no fuss, but the basic Sampler platter with 2 eggs sunny side up, ham, bacon, sausage and hashbrowns with 2 fluffy pancakes… now if you walk away hungry after that… see a doctor. This was the location a 1787 N US Hwy 17 in Mt Plznt.

Horrible service and subpar food. First we were sat and had to wait 10 mins for anyone to acknowledge us. We had a dirty cup and the server took it away and didn’t bring back a fresh one until we asked. The server ordered the wrong dish but brought it out anyway. Then we had to ask the manager if the hash browns that were suppose to come on the original plate would come out she had to think about it. Finally the plate we ordered came out and the gravy looked like skim milk poured over the country fried steak. To make matters worse they didn’t even put eggs on it because the wrong plate that was now cold and still sitting at our table had eggs. The server disappears and is no where to be found and keeps having to apologize for her actions. We actually had to go to the hostess to get our check and it was of course WRONG! Stop apologizing and learn your job. No James island IHOP in our future!

Been here a couple of times. Breakfast always goes well. Went for dinner again and the food was good. However, even with 3 waitresses for a total of 6 tables the service was bad. Ordered appetizers that showed up 15 minutes later with our main dishes. No mention of it from our waitress; guess that is normal for her? Also got annoyed listening to them talk about hair styles rather than taking care of our table.

Food was good, however service was extremely slow. The restaurant was not full, about ¾ of tables were empty. It also didn’t look like our server had multiple tables. We asked for ketchup and an extra plate and after 5 minutes finally just asked another table if we could borrow their ketchup. It also initially took a while for someone to come to our table to take our initial drink orders and bring them back. Food was well prepared with any special requests correct. Restaurant is fairly new and nicely decorated. Just too bad about slow service.

We went to this IHOP as a spur of the moment on a Sunday after church. Both my girlfriend and I assumed IHOP was an acceptably quick, easy place to go. To say that we will never be going again is a gross overstatement. When we put our name in we were told 10 to 15 minutes. It was 30 before we got seated. When we ordered our food it took them 40 minutes to bring our food to us claiming that the ticket had fallen down behind the grill. The manager said he would get the food right out and it came out luke warm. Add to all of this that the wait staff seemed to almost be in slow motion and nonchalant at best, and other than the excuse that our ticket fell behind the grill, we heard at least two other sad excuses given to why an order was incorrect. It makes you wonder if the errors are true mistakes or perhaps it is just improperly trained or utterly incompetent waitstaff The overall experience was incredibly underwhelming. It may have soured me I’m one of the few chain breakfast places that I considered going instead of any of the fantastic local mom and pop shops. I will never go to this location again and will warn every single one of my friends not to patronize this business. 1 star is generous, but only because the food was edible.

The heating system doesn’t work! It’s been a full week since we came and shivered in our coats. I just don’t understand how you can run a restaurant and expect guests to put up with this. There’s no sign at the entrance to warn customers. I’m disappointed.

Went there last night with a friend who insisted on this location. Again very cold inside. Again a lack of professionalism as I observed a server telling his life story to a table of diners. Again cold food that took awhile to come, despite the restaurant not being crowded. Friend agreed that she won’t be back to this one, though I’ll be tempted to see if it’s still freezing inside in July.

This place was AMAZING! Fresh food and fast service. The service was great and the management was beyond wonderful! The manager came around asked us how thing were and just very friendly, yet professional. Love this place and it’s staff.

Put my name in, then they sat maybe 5 others before me that had come after me. I didn’t really enjoy listening to a manager confronting an employee in a very negative way in front of many customers. Very unprofessional, take the conversation elsewhere please. Food was good except for the bacon.(Jersey Mikes has fresher bacon, and they are not even a breakfast place) I’m writing this in hopes that you will improve! I know you’ve only been open for a week, so I wish you the best. I love ihop and am very excited that you are now on James Island!

We tried to eat breakfast at this location this morning but didn’t because after being seated very quickly we were ignored for 15 minutes at least. Not even a greeting or an offer to take our drinks or a «I’ll be with you shortly». Won’t return there are so many other local restaurants that are waaay better.
