First off, if you’re not eating Lola’s salads, you’re just not eating at Lola’s. Fresh, different and as locally-sourced as possible. Fried goat cheese salad? The Bomb. Roasted beet salad? Can’t miss! Then, the Sangria. Come with some girlfriends on a summer evening, get a pitcher, your night is made. Pizzas are great — dough made fresh daily. Toppings on the specialty pizzas are not the same old, but you can get the same old if that’s what you’re into. I hear lunch is now an option. Can’t wait to try it!

The decencies drive across the river from the interstate is just a plus. Very friendly service in a neighborhood eclectic pizza and sandwich shop. Local flavor makes this place special. Wow the food is great. I had a salami and prosciutto sandwich and my son the pepperoni pizza.

Amanda was our server and her and the food was badass. Don’t be fooled by the small house exterior, go in. It’s FRACKING delicious.

Went in on a Saturday late evening, great service!!! The food was really good, they had messed up on my friends, brought it and immediately apologized and remade it, and gave it to him for the couple of pieces that where for him to eat while they remade the pizza, thought that was amazing. Also had fried mozzarella and it was great and the chocolate cake :)

This is a really cool place. It is run out of a converted house which is easy to find. That helps for someone like myself who is from somewhere else and have never been to Charleston before. There is not much parking there, but it was during dinner rush and they were busy so I understand. The staff was super friendly when I ordered on the phone, and when I went to pick up my pizza. The atmosphere was cool too. They had some good music going and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It seems like a place you can relax with friends in a home type setting. The pizza was REALLY good, but it did not come with much cheese on it. If I would have known, I would have ordered extra cheese. But it was really good anyways. Go and check them out. You will be glad you did!!!

Came in for Friday night dinner with the boyfriend.. The restaurant wasn’t crowded but parking capacity was limited as we had to park up the street and walk down, which I didn’t mind since it was a nice night out. Approaching the restaurant, I felt we were walking towards a little gift shop, it’s small but cozy on the inside with an intimate atmosphere with outdoor seating available as well. We started with the Pan-seared Mozzarella accompanied with glasses of wine as we waited on our pizza which made a perfect start. I’m not a big wine drinker, but when I do it’s usually Moscato, which they didn’t have. I had the Kiona Riesling, which had just the right amount of sweetness and thought it enjoyable, and also a San Pellegrino Aranciata Orange, a non-alcoholic drink our waiter had me try, and I really enjoyed — a classy bubbly orange drink :) The main course was a large pizza split half Spinach & Feta, half Spicy Shrimp & Sausage — their two top specialty pizzas, and both were good but Spinach Feta was best. The pizza crusts were thin, almost like thin crust pizza, but with actual crusts on the edges. Next time, I’d like to try a different specialty in place of the spicy shrimp pizza. As for dessert, I finished up with Pistachio ice cream, while the boyfriend put away a Crème Brulee. I’ve never been a fan of Crème Brulee but they make the best I’ve ever seen/tasted and the bf couldn’t stop raving. **FYI**Currently, they DONOT serve lunch, but our server says they will be opening during lunch hours soon.

One of the things I miss most about Charleston is Lola’s. The atmosphere is perfect. The pizzas are amazing. The fried goat cheese is out of this world. Also, I’m a huge fan of their French press coffee!

The sweet potato salad was excellent. I liked the Hawaiian pizza just fine. Thanks people did not have straws for the glasses of water that they provided. The service wasn’t great. Overall I was a little disappointed.

Really good unique pizza for a really good price. The crust was crispy … Love the roasted garlic. Not your typical franchise pizza place. Parking is a little sketchy. Get there early. My husband and I will be back.

Best pizza in Charleston. Ask for AJ. He’ll hook you up! And don’t forget to try the sangria and flourless chocolate cake. Yum!

Where do I begin? Let’s start with the parking. We didn’t have problems parking since we arrived before the dinner rush, however, if you are planning on arriving any time after say… 6, you will have problems parking. Inside you find a pretty cramped seating area. We were put in the tiny room to the left of the front door along with a party of about 12 loud women who were out celebrating either a baby shower or bachelorette party — I couldn’t tell. Regardless, they were loud and that tiny room didn’t help the noise level at all. I had difficulty hearing my wife talking to me across the table. Now, we are usually the ones worried about making too much noise at restaurants since we usually have all four kids in tow, but this room/group set the bar very high. I told my kids to not worry about talking too loud, no one would ever hear you. Ok, on the the food. Lola’s has a decent selection of beer, including local brews — gold star for them for supporting local breweries! The wine list looked ok, a bit over priced per glass, but ok. A couple salads and small plate appetizers are available but we didn’t try them, we were there for the pizza! Aaaaand we were let down. The crust was nice, but the edges were too done and burnt in places. Once past the edges though it had a nice flavor. Toppings were average — nothing special. Our service was pretty bad, we saw our waitress 4 times — when we arrived and ordered drinks and ordered, when she brought out pies, and when she brought our check and returned with the copy to sign. That’s it. Since we no longer live in the area, we probably won’t be back as there are better pizza places in Charleston.

This pizza place was located in a small house on a hill. The pizza was delicious and they had a good selection of beers. I highly recommend this place.

My family was driving through Charleston and were looking for a place to eat around the city. We found Lola’s on a quick Google search and decided to check it out. We were very pleasantly surprised to find this nice little restaurant. Everybody working there was extremely nice and friendly. The pizza was top notch and delicious and we enjoyed every bite. It was a very clean and the decoration was very nice. They messed up on my mom’s pizza, but they quickly brought out another pizza along with a free beer for her! They gave us the pizza for free as well. We were very pleased with the experience and the food was great!

Best pie in Chucktown! Fresh ingredients, put together well with a great beer selection make this the premier pizza place in town. The prices are good as is generally the service. Parking can be a real pain in the ass and the hipster douchebags that sit at the bar are a little off putting, but don’t let that discourage you from the best pie in town.

Their parking is a pain in the rear, and I went on a slow day! That said, our server(RJ) was really great and the food was delicious. I got the goat cheese and artichoke and my husband got a steak and cheese. Mmmm. Really nice selection of beers as well and the cozy décor is great for date night. Oh, and try the crème brûlée! It’s really amazing.

In my opinion, the best restaurant in Charleston. We’ve been here many times, but never more than once a month. Still, several workers remember who we are & what we like. The wait can be long-ish on a busy night, especially if you’ve come in a group. The restaurant feels like a small house, so seating is limited. But they set up a charming front patio area where you can grab a drink from the bar & wait. I’ve never waited longer than it takes to finish one drink. Their drink selection is always good. They usually have a couple of drinks from Rogue brewing & Sierra Nevada. I usually go with the rogue good chit pilsner. They also have a wine selection that I haven’t really delved into, but my gf switches between the red & white sangrias each time she goes. Both are good & very sweet. I start every meal here with the pan-seared goat cheese salad. That shit is amazeballs. It’s not a lola’s experience of you don’t get that. All of the pies that I’ve tried here are great, but I’m sticking with the steak & cheese with jalapeños from now on. Make sure to ask for parmesan, they’ll grate some off for you in a small bowl. I can just eat a bowl of that by itself.

An excellent experience every time! The changing pizza combinations are well-thought out and well-prepared. Don’t just get pepperoni, although very good, that’s not the point of the place. The converted small house ambiance is excellent, but cramped. The bar is in the first room and has filled up with wall-to-wall people at times, making it hard to pay the bill and get to the exit. I agree with Luther F.‘s review — MUCH better than Pies & Pints. Arrive early or you will have to stand around on the yard/gravel lot. Waiting in the rain? Sorry, once the porch fills up you’re wet. Bottom Line: the food trumps all — excellent pizza.

Even better than Pies & Pints! Lola’s is set in what seems like somebody’s house, which is substantiated by very homey-feeling service. The pizza itself is a little greasy but otherwise very delicious. I had the portabella pesto pizza(with pepperoni) and I loved how well the the different ingredients went together(especially the cheese, though I can’t recall specifically what it was — ricotta maybe?). It’s also worth noting that I usually hate mushrooms but they went perfectly on this pizza. One other menu item worth noting — the kale salad. It is perfectly dressed and has a bit of cheese for flavor, but still manages to be a very healthy and flavorful starter option.

This review is based on several visits over a period of about two years. When we stay overnight in Charleston this is our favorite spot for dinner. The pizza is great — very creative and lots of variety/options. Thin crust. They do it well. The beer list is quite decent and the prices are fair. The wine list is OK, but the prices are high, I think.(Go for the beer!) The interior is, well, different. «Hipster,» I guess. And, lots of tatoos walking about. They do a good job here — and we’ll be back! My rating is a «strong 4!»

The pizza is good, but i have to put 4 stars for the entire experience. The wait at 730pm on a friday was a grueling hour and a half. We were promised 1 hour and were all famished when that hour came and passed with no update in sight. Had we known we wouldnt be seated until after 9pm, we would have easily placed a to-go order, or headed downtown to the comparable if not better Pies n Pints pizza joint. When we were finally seated, the service was quick as if to be apologetic. We ordered 3 pizzas and the hands down best, by consensus, was the Hawaiian. Sausage and Onion was also good. The ingredients are high quality and the crust is thin but not overly crunchy. In short this seems like a great place to carry out. You aren’t missing a lot of ambiance by not eating in, and its assuredly not worth a wait.
