This restaurant is mediocre. The waiters aren’t very attentive. The buffet is okay. The sushi rice isn’t prepared well, and a lot of their food sits there for hours on end. The restaurant rarely has a lot of people. In fact, I’ve eaten here three times and each time we were the only customers in there. Also, it’s worth mentioning that there is an apartment above the restaurant and there is almost constant banging from people running around in the apartment.

I’ve been going to Main Tin for years, and it’s always been my favorite Chinese restaurant in Kanawha County. The buffet is well maintained, even during off hours. They always provide quick delivery. The staff is nice. My favorite is the coconut shrimp and General Tsos.

Their employees are fantastic. They are extremely attentive and eager to serve. Their buffet was mediocre. Some of the items were fresh, some not so much. That is to be expected with a buffet, as the freshness of the food is dependant on the amount of people currently in the restaurant. If it is busy they will be pushing out more food. If it is slower, they don’t need to update the food as quickly. The buffet did have a decent amount of diversity for the size of the restaurant.

A really good buffet and super affordable. We’ve been there twice this week.

Probably the best Chinese food around. Haven’t had the buffet yet as I always get takeout. Sometimes the chicken and broccoli has a little too much sauce in it but that’s probably my only complaint. I really like the beef and broccoli; always fresh and delicious. Management is also friendly. Takeout usually is ready within 5 – 10 minutes after I arrive and order.

Best Chinese around. Buffett is outstanding. Pricing is fair and they deliver almost anywhere. We eat from Main Tin all the time.

Best general Asian restaurant in the South Charleston/Charleston area. The buffet is what is it. Can be hit or miss, but my daughter and I love it and are regular customers. The selection is excellent, the stuffed mushrooms and jalapeño chicken are very good. There’s always a decent selection of types of chicken, pepper steak, salmon, noodles, rice, etc. There are options for kids, mac and cheese, potatoes, jello, ice cream, etc. It’s reasonably priced and a good buffet. Certainly there are hours when it is busier and will be fresher, but they will make something fresh upon request, and there are always good options to choose from. The real gem is ordering off the menu though. When you do that, you are assured some of the best quality Chinese you will get anywhere. We go around twice a month, and I have yet to see anything near as bad as some of the reviews I’ve read on here. We also frequent Grano, Phở, Yen’s, Taste of Asia… I live not far from«downtown» South Charleston and am very pleased to have so many non-corporate, owner operated choices so close to home.

Decent Chinese buffet, but the food is hit or miss. You stand the best chance of getting tasty food if you go at lunch(11:30−12:30). This us a good choice if you need a quick lunch. However, if you have time the other Chinese restaurant just a few doors down is better… although not a buffet.

Yes I know it’s a buffet. And I’m fully aware that it’s not«real» Chinese food. Be that as it may, the food is wonderful, the staff is amazing, and the selection is always diverse despite the relatively small size. You can’t go wrong here.
