The food was excellent tasting. My wife, 9 year old son, and I appreciated the bottomless pita bread, as we paired it with the tabbouleh and baba ganoush. Both were satisfying & yummy, though not necessarily 100% authentic. My wife and I ordered a lamb gyro to share. I thought it was delicious, but my wife was hoping for something a bit more authentic. Can’t please everyone, I guess :) Overall we were both satisfied. Given the options in Charleston, I think Grano is doing a fabulous job offering something beyond the standard fare in the city. Our son ordered the corn dog from the kids menu. Typically, corn dogs are an afterthought thrown on the menu to satisfy the picky tastes of kids. My son was pleasantly surprised by the corn dog. It was not your standard breading you’d expect. He loved it. For dessert, we indulged in the tiramisu. The cocoa powder was a nice touch, and the cake was very soft, chocolatey, and delightful! We had a server who was in training yet and she did a fantastic job. Love the family-run atmosphere here. Several family members of different generations milled through the restaurant. I could tell it’s a labor of love. After a long day of driving back home post-vacation, we stopped for the night in Charleston. Our tired souls could not stomach another drive thru special, so we decided to use Unilocal — which thankfully led us here. This is the type of place I’d usually say«see you next time!» on the way out… but unfortunately we were just passing through.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Charleston and found Grano in walking distance. Very casual, very good food. We had salmon, a gyro, lasagna and a steak kabob and all were excellent. Friendly service. The owner gave us an off the menu dessert called Kunafeh, ask about it, it was awesome. Would definitely recommended this place to locals or anyone passing through.

Grano is definitely one of my favorite places. I love the variety of the menu, but my favorite choice is always steak kabobs. However, everything I’ve ever tried here has been amazing! And never skip dessert here! They have so many great desserts!

This place is good. The hummus as an appetizer was plain, but tasted homemade. The pita was thin and room temperature, soft and chewy. It was just okay– I prefer crunchy warm and thicker pita. We both had the lamb gyro, and it was good. The meat was seasoned well and was very tender. The pita was soft and warm. Inside were whole pieces of cukes, lettuce, tomato and onions, as well as feta crumbles. The tzakiki sauce was plain. I wish there were more feta on the gyro. The fries that came with it were very hot and fresh. The service was fast and friendly. There was one other couple in there on a Saturday night, which was weird to me. I wasn’t sure if the place isn’t popular or it was just a fluke and a dead night. But then again, we were traveling through the city so I wasn’t sure. If you’re in the mood for Greek food, this can hit the spot. But, it’s nothing to rave about. I’ve had much better back home.

The lamb gyro was excellent. The atmosphere is nice and the service was great. There are a few more things on the menu that I want to try, so I will definitely be coming back here to eat.

Awesome. Food is fresh and presented well. Price per dish about 13 bucks, but more than worth it. Staff are pleasant, and food is prepared quickly. I had kafta, easily the best meal I have had this year. My girlfriend had the chicken parm, she said it was the best she has had here in WV(including the questionably famous fazios). Great food.

I usually went there for lunch and get the gyro which is delicious. The pizza is also great. But they have raised their prices from reasonable to ‘are you kidding me’ prices. They went from a nice lunch joint to fancy bistro. But don’t let that discourage. Food is excellent and the desserts are heavenly.

Amazing food. I’ve had Mediterranean food all over the world and I highly recommend going to grano! I had the lamb gyro. It was still warm when it was placed in front of me. Its not like strips of meat which is nice. The tsatki sauce was tangy and creamy exactly like it’s suppose to be. My mom got the veggie combo appetizer and it was big. It came with 2 kinds of hummus, grape leaves, falafel and more. The hummus was creamy and smooth nothing like what you buy in the stores. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. I will most definitely be back!

The calzone is huge and takes forever. And it’s only ok. But the deserts. The deserts are worth a trip all on their own!!!

I have eaten lunch here a couple of times; both times very good. But, I just used Grano to cater a small reception and it was really terrific – all freshly hand-made Mid-Eastern/Syrian dishes(at my request). We contracted for 15 and there was easily enough for 20 or more. Ammar Krayem, the owner, is congenial and easy to deal with. Use them for your next catered event!!!

Had there gyro which was good. Finally a place to get Greek food since the Greek place in the mall closed.

A family owned business that keeps me coming back for the scrumptious deserts that are mostly made by the wife. Went last night and one of the daughters had just made a to-die-for date tart. Loved it so much I bought a piece to take home for today! The menu is varied, the food wonderful, and the atmosphere bright and cheerful. Oh yes, the youngest daughter is an added bight spot to my visits. She is such a charmer.

A wonderful addition to South Charleston. Always clean and friendly and serving up fresh, simple and good quality healthy food. We love the pizzas, gyros and desserts. Great stuffed grape leaves and falafel as well.

Good food, big portions, great dessert. They have a mostly Mediterranean food menu with some Italian and American dishes. Walk to the Asian grocery store nearby to make it a really international night!

I have been there twice now and both visits have been great. They have generous portions and the ingredients they use are high quality. You don’t get the feeling that you’re eating generic food like you do at a lot of other places. The pizzas are especially good. The kabobs and lasagne are top notch too. The staff has always gone out of their way to ensure that we were enjoying everything.

Every time I deal with them I was satisfied. This Resturant has a very good dishes, and an average ones. But the good part is that they are welling to do what they can to make it better experience for you. I usually go for privet Arabian dishes they make to cater. They literally can do any middle eastern dish you heard off.

The food was great. We had kebabs with Swiss Rolls and baklava for dessert. Need to make a return trip ASAP. The pizza is flat bread based — definitely a unique eastern Mediterranean take, will try on next visit

I thought I had written a review for this place, but I see I have not. This review is for a little over a month ago. Whilst visiting Charleston with a few other family members we ended up having lunch here at Grano, we were a party of 7. Place looked clean and new, and was pretty quiet during the time we were there. We were seated quickly and our drinks taken. We placed our orders and happily awaited our food. When our food arrived the Caesar salad did not look like a Caesar salad nor was the dressing it came with, so we asked our waitress if this was their version of Caesar salad, she had to go back to the kitchen to check, when she came back she just came out with the Caesar dressing but did not change the salad(the salad that was given was the Mediterranean). So we just continued with our meal, I had a shrimp pasta dish and it was terrible the shrimp tasted like it was frozen and not fresh at all, it had a rubbery taste and texture. I could not eat it, so I just ate the garlic bread that came with it, i did not want to waste the food but I could not eat that dish which was disappointing. I gave 2 stars because our waitress was at least nice and the place was clean. I don’t think I will be returning to this place whenever I’m in Charleston.
