I’m ½ Italian. I’m from New York. I’m in Charleston, South Carolina and I tried the Caprese Sandwich — house-pulled mozzarella, tomato, basil, super-thin prosciutto, & white balsamic. What was I thinking? It was freakin’ fantastic!!! Enough said! :-)

Went here for lunch after the aquarium. I got the chicken Waldorf salad sandwich and slaw. It was incredible! Definitely recommend it. Husband got the wagyu beef panini and his was just as tasty. The aioli was so creamy and perfect with the beef. His potato salad was also good. My 2 year old devoured his grilled cheese.

Ate here today while in town. We love finding little deli’s like this that are full of flavor. Potato salad and the chicken, pancetta and avocado were AWESOME!

Fast service, reasonably priced, great food. The chicken/prosciutto/avocado sandwich was delicious, as was the potato salad. We enjoyed those more than the pulled pork bbq and Gouda Mac, but those were also good!

Pretty standard foodie fare, but I wasn’t 100% happy. I got the special Hunan pork shoulder sandwich. I’m not sure if it was the sauce or what but something tasted a bit like lighter fluid. Maybe it was vinegar that was just sitting on the cabbage? It was a sandwich that seems like a really good idea on paper but everything just didn’t come together. It would probably be fine without the bread. I got the Mac n cheese side, and it was a little weird cold. I also got a beer from the fridge and somehow my total was $ 25 for lunch. I just wasn’t satisfied for a $ 25 meal. I’m also not a picky eater at all. There are three things I don’t like: sun-dried tomatoes, cantaloupe, and eel, so it’s not that. Maybe other things on the menu are better. I was with a group and nobody was raving about what they ordered. Kind of a let down considering all the good Unilocal reviews.

Ted’s is a place where I go for one thing and one thing only: the Waygu Beef sandwich. I literally crave it. The caramelized onions, garlic aioli, and beef make the best combination. If you like those three things, you’ve got to try it. It’s messy, so get extra napkins. I’m not a big fan of their sides. All sandwiches come with a SMALL side(really more like a «taste»). I usually just get the fruit. The mac & cheese(Gouda, I think?), just doesn’t do it for me. Not much flavor to it. I’ve also tried their salads, but didn’t think they were worth the price tag. Random points: My bf has been a lucky recipient of Ted’s gift baskets and the steaks and bacon are fantastic. The store shares a parking lot with the rest of the shops, so parking can be tricky.

A variety of ethnic deli salads, sandwiches, paninis, meat and fish. A lot of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Good for a quick lunch and beer.

Ted’s is one of my very favorite places to get a sandwich. I can almost never turn down the bacon of the month BLT, but the wagyu panini and chicken, pancetta, and avocado are close seconds! They also have a great full-service butcher and deli counter, a nice selection of cheeses and other specialty foods, and wine and beer. Ted’s made sandwiches cool long before Butcher & Bee and Artisan Meat Share came on the scene!

Went to Ted’s with my wife after visiting the nearby aquarium. Very clean and ample seating. The pulled pork panini was so delicious and had some weight to it. My wife had the wagyu beef panini and was also delicious. For the price I’d say you get a really good quality lunch. Would definitely eat here again if I ever find myself in town again.

I cannot say enough about how great this place is. It all depends on what you’re after, but this place is fantastic spot in Downtown Charleston. Great spot for lunch and sandwiches, interesting wine, cheese, and preprepared foods section, don’t get me wrong, but the real gem is the meat. Ted Dombrowski knows his trade, and this place is always my #1 stop when I want to pick up something amazing for dinner or the grill. You cannot go wrong here, and the staff is super helpful in finding what you’re after. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Always excellent, have been going for close to 10 years but have forgotten to review – Sorry Ted! We like the salads and paninis as well as their sandwiches. Today we had a salad medley – quinoa w/snapper & tuna, summer lentils, and a couple of others. Very tasty and inexpensive for 4 small servings. Also had a Caprese sandwich w/basil, prosciutto, and hand-pulled mozzarella. A bit shy on the basil – only a few shavings– but otherwise very good. As always the staff is enthusiastic and helpful. Nice place for lunch or early dinner. They also have an endless supply of meats and smoked fish that you can’t find anywhere else in town… except maybe Artisan Meat Share, a newcomer.

Best Butcher in Charleston! I order hanger steak from Ted on a near weekly schedule. He also will special order about anything you could ask for and when you pick it up the cuts are perfection. My wife and I have ordered amazing bone-in Fillets for New Year’s the past two years and OMG. The restaurant side is great too. The waygu steak sandwich constantly has us staying there over East Bay Deli next door(which is good too but jist not to the same standard). Also one of the few places you can buy Boudin Blanc and Big Eye Tuna fresh. Just GOTOTED’S!

Yum yum yum yum I love this place! I used to come here all the time because my bank is nearby but now I have mobile banking and I’m thinking about ditching it just so I can stop by back here every time I have to deposit a check. I always get the special because… why not?! I also follow them on instagram and the food always looks delish so double thumbs up for presentation as well! Since I always get the special I feel like I’m never able to fully explore the menu which I need to do ASAP. Their dinners also always sound phenom. so I need to check those out as well. As far as the sides go… that mac and cheese is pretty baller. Again, I never branch out but its so hard to do when its soooo good! If you’re in the area you should definitely stop by. They never disappoint me! As I’m writing this I’m thinking about if i should stop by for lunch tomorrow… hmm…

I am writing this review LITERALLY while I am eating my food. It is that good. Do not kid yourself. Get the Mac and Cheese. Yes it’s cold, but it is so delicious! I am enjoying a scrumptious Waldorf Salad Sandwich and I could not be more pleased. It’s very refreshing, and the flavors are to die for. I couldn’t be more pleased. Since I ordered online and had Quickfoxes deliver, I am definitely interested in going downtown and checking out the restaurant behind this glorious lunch I am currently wrapped up in!

Absolutely loved it! Super cute inside, it’s like a little Italian grocery, the staff was very friendly. They were extremely busy. Place was clean. Food was quick. We had the Mint Pea Chilled Soup, Spring Veggie Soup, the Vegetable Panini and the Cuban Panini with 1 side of Potato Salad and 1 side of Mac and Cheese. Definitely craving the Mint Pea soup and cannot wait to try the Wagu Beef next time!

Ted’s is a favorite of mine when I’m near Marion Square for lunch. It’s a bit of a walk if you’re on the normal crowded side of the city, but it’s nice to hop over to a place that maybe only the locals know about. Ted’s is interesting in that it’s a working restaurant and an actual butcher shop. I like to get lamb chops from here on the weekends and pick up a delicious sandwich while I wait. They have a variety of awesome sandwiches, all with super high-quality ingredients. When you order a sandwich or salad, make sure you get a side of their gouda mac and cheese. It’s to die for. Menu Highlights: — BLT — Italian — Build-your-own salad — Mac and Cheese! My secret: if I’m feeling up for a small lunch, I order the kids grilled cheese with a side of mac and cheese. Get a free cup of their ice water, and your total is less than $ 5!

The best lunch spot in all of Charleston by far!!! The Greek Sandwich is my personal favorite with Mac & Cheese. Outstanding! Ted, the owner actually comes around the counter and shakes hands with customers. So refreshing and he cares about the overall quality of the business. I could eat here daily. Overall my go to spot!

I’m mostly vegetarian, but my husband is crazy about his meat, so yesterday, we went to Ted’s Butcherblock for lunch and to buy some meat. Ted’s is a small-ish shop but they make good use of the space, and there’s a lot of tables and room to eat, as well as a few tables outside. Also outside, there’s an extra-large Big Green Egg smoker cooking up meat for those who eat it. My husband loves his BGE so that made him excited right away. There is also a parking lot in front(free) and if it is full, there’s metered parking on the street behind Ted’s. I can find something to eat anywhere and Ted’s was no exception. They had several vegetarian items on the menu such as a veggie panini and build your own salad, and some vegetarian side dishes. I decided to get the Greek salad with the Greek dressing on the side. For $ 8, it was a pretty substantial salad and I couldn’t eat it all. They do package it in a to-go container. It was topped with lots of delicious feta cheese and the mixed greens were delicious, no iceberg lettuce here! Most people probably don’t think of a salad when they go to Ted’s, but I’d gladly return and order this again. The lunch was just over $ 20 for the two of us so it’s not a bad deal for the peninsula.

A lazy Saturday trip downtown led to a great lunch at Ted’s. I got to try their Wagyu Roast beef panini with a side of potato salad. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and super tender. Normally I am not a fan of blue cheese, but with the cheese worked into an aoli it was actually very tasty. The sandwhich was good, but I wasn’t blown away by it. The potato salad was also good, the potato skins were left on which gave the dish a great texture. The salad was also lite on the mayo which fit my liking. I also stopped by the butcher counter to pick up a ribeye and two tri-tips for future use. The ribeye was cut to my specifications, and its really nice to find tri-tips on the east coast. You do pay more than a grocery store but the meat quality is hands down better than your normal grocery store. The butcher did a great job with customer service and I must commend Ted’s on this. The butcher and buyer conversation was really appreciated. While ringing up my purchase they found out I planned on freezing the tri-tip, they then offered to vacuum seal the meat so I could easily freeze my purchase. Ted’s is a solid location, but their customer service really takes it to the 5 star level.
