The Yoga House of Charleston

I really liked this place and I don’t really love yoga. If I could consistently get it for the Groupon price I would totally do it. I especially love the candlelight classes and find this a very relaxing way to unplug from technology and stretch a bit. I didn’t try any of the really high level classes because I have the flexibility of a pine board, but even in the lower level classes they offer props to help those of us that struggle. Definitely not an intimidating place to be and I really like that about them!

I just did a drop in/​community class. Great teacher, perfect, happy space. Go here!

I can’t stop talking about The Yoga House! I now live in North Charleston but drive to West Ashley for the classes. The Water class with Stacy on Wednesday afternoon is sublime! I work from home and block my calendar so that I can drive over. I love feeling sore the next day which tells me that I am working muscles that I don’t normally. I got a ten class pass on special but am seriously considering a membership so that I can explore more of the classes. The restorative class on Saturday was also very good, but I just tried it because I had a meeting scheduled last minute and couldn’t make Stacy’s class on Wednesday. I took another class a few months back as well. ALL of the instructors were very personable (as was the owner) and were helpful to offer alternative poses if the ones used were too advanced. I could go to The Yoga House every day… and hope that I can soon!
Seriously, try this place!

Great Yoga place. I’ve tried 2 others locally (in Avondale and James Island) and this place beats them all. Great variety of classes, levels and instructors. The facility itself is clean, modern, and has most everything you could want or need. I highly recommend them.

I love this place! I had never done yoga when I went to my first class at Yoga House. Now I’m hooked! All of the instructors are wonderfully passionate and helpful. It’s a very welcoming environment. You don’t have to worry about how fancy your yoga mat is or how advanced you are. It’s a great, healthy way to release stress and feel great about yourself!

One of the only places I found that has super early classses and drop in rates under $ 15! The facility was super clean, the teacher was sweet & warm spirited. They even have showers and cubby areas for your things. They provide blocks and blankets to help you with poses that are harder. The poses were not hard in the Wake Up class, but they were also not boring. The music could have been a little more traditional in terms of no lyrics and more tranquil. A lot of it was folk music genre and that didn’t flow well. Also, they offer very good deals and are very conveniently located off of 61 in West Ashley. My new routine is go there then get a kale smoothie & soufle at panera afterwards!

I have taken yoga classes over the years at a local fitness center and never did it on a regular basis because I didn’t like yoga… or so I thought. I won a 10-​class pass at a silent auction about 18 months ago to the Yoga House. When I showed up, they told me for $ 20 I could try out any or all the classes they have for a week, so I did that to see which classes suited me best. I ended up giving the 10-​class pass to my husband and bought a one-​year membership! Now we both have year-​long memberships and absolutely LOVE the Yoga House and all the teachers as well as Thomas, the owner. There is a big selection of classes, some easier than others, some are restorative and relaxing, some are hot classes. You just have to find the classes that you like the best. Every class that I’ve been in, the teacher has shown modifications for challenging poses. I would highly recommend the Yoga House for ALL ages! I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at the Yoga House. I love their facility, especially the special heaters for the hot yoga. Beth is one of my favorite instructors, but they have all been awesome. I like the beautiful facility, the props, and the easy online sign up.

I love the yoga house! and just like its name it is a second home to me. not many studios in charleston offer a wide variety of yoga and teachers at such a good price. you have hot yoga, jivamukti, anusara, grace [for the 50+] and so much more. and the teachers always have new tricks for you up their sleeves. the classes are never boring

The interior is well done, clean, and relaxing. The classes offered range from beginner to intermediate, so there is something for all levels. I like the warm and hot classes they offer the best, as well as the morning sessions — the instructors are also very involved during the class, and walk around to help with form. I like this a LOT because I am just not very bendy, therefore some positions don’t come that easily.
The Yoga House is also very inexpensive, especially in comparison to some other hot yoga options available in town (cough:overpriced:cough:Bikram:cough).
Ooo last and worth mentioning — I really like being able to schedule and pay online.

I have been going to the Yoga House of Charleston for almost a year! I absolutely LOVE IT!!! They offer an excellent variety of classes, all teaches are very experienced and extremely nice, the studio is very modern and very welcoming, and the owner Thomas is a very professional and genuine! I go to practice my yoga almost every day there and take a different classes from all teachers! All of them — Thomas, the teachers and all people who come to practice yoga like a big family! If you are looking for a place where you want to find a wonderful yoga practice and many friends that is definitely one!!!

Thomas, the owner has terrible customer service skills and is rude and condescending towards his customers. I highly suggest you find a more considerate and personable instructor to get your yoga classes from.

I’ve been going for a couple weeks now and already know I’m going to be a member for a long time.

I’ve been to Yoga House a few times and really liked it. You can purchase passes for different amounts of classes, and on Sunday, they have a donation based class that goes toward different charities and causes each month.
I’m primarily a runner and since I do my long runs on Saturday, if I go to yoga house, it’s usually on a Sunday for that donation based class, which is a beginner’s/basic class taught by a different instructor each week.
Every time I’ve been, the staff has been super nice and helpful, and they are very welcoming to newbies (lots of new faces come to the community Sunday classes just to try yoga).
They do run specials, groupons, and deals, and you get what you pay for (the instructors are clearly well-​trained and a step above what you get in most fitness clubs). It’s also nice to have local yoga for those of us in West Ashley near or beyond 526, instead of going to Downtown or Mt P. The price is comparable to any nice facility, and the savings in gas alone is worth it!

My new favorite place! Very affordable memberships, knowledgable instructors, awesome ambience, and all different kinds of classes are way more motivating than any DVD. So happy to have found this pace and excited to feel good again.

Wow! I was totally impressed by The Yoga House it is so large and fresh. I made a special note to all the eco-​friendly details. You could tell the owners put a lot of time and energy into every little detail. I was a little nervous coming to The Yoga House because I am not the best at yoga however the staff was great– polite, knowledgeable, and very experienced. I felt at home here. I am really looking forward to going again. I also loved the vegan cookie I bought as I was leaving. I am hooked on those cookies and The Yoga House now.
