Had high hopes coming here but pretty disappointed with the experience. Beer was subpar, berry ale was probably the best if the bunch surprisingly, not usually my cup of tea but the rest we tried first were nothing to go back for. Food was definitely Meh. My wife’s veggie wrap came out almost falling apart and she was completely finished with it by the time my mango habanero brat came. For $ 9 you get a brat on a pretzel bun and some chips. No sauce or condiments or anything but those 3 things. Not impressed. They have a selection of stuff at the grill like tomatoes and relish etc to make your own but if you’re going to serve specialty meats you really should have a sauce or SOMETHING take it a bit more elevated. Asked for water and never got it. Won’t be going back any time soon.

We arrived with a group of 10, including kids, after being rudely rebuffed another local establishment. As soon as we got here things were markedly different. The wait staff rearranged(twice) to make sure we all could sit together and did it cheerfully and quickly. Everyone who came by the tables made sure drinks were fresh and kept appetizers for the adults and crayons for the kids coming. On top of some of the best service I’ve ever experienced, the food was excellent. The liquor nachos are highly recommended, as is the pretzel that is twice the size of what you get at a baseball stadium for half the price. Despite the logistical issues of serving 10 people, everything came out hit and pretty expediently. If we’re ever through Charlevoix, we’ll be back.

The food is mostly pork based with texmex flavored. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was good. We sat outside and the view of the harbor is lovely. Wait staff was good and the Pilsner brew was tasty.

This is a nice little brewery. The outdoor patio is near the water and that’s always nice. The inside is fairly comfy and slightly nautical themed. The beers are all quite nice and drinkable. We happened to have the owner serving us at the bar rail and were very impressed with him. Real down to Earth and knowledgable guy as well as friendly. And apparently on Mondays(I’m pretty sure he said Monday…) they’re going to have bingo games where you can win brewery swag and other fun little things. Pretty cool concept, in my opinion. I’ll most certainly swing through here next time I’m in the area.

The beer is the worst. Hardly a brew pub. The food is overpriced. The service is slow. There are other places to get craft beer of a better quality, Beards in Petoskey for example.

I have been here a couple times since my last review. I don’t know if it was just a fluke thing or if it was because it was summer and it was very busy, but I’ve had two excellent experiences here since then. Melinda the bartender and server is fantastic. She goes above and beyond to make sure that we are comfortable and enjoying ourselves.

Amazing nachos! And chill environment, perfect for a chill day to enjoy some beers! Contrary to other comments, service was great! Very friendly and responsive staff. Will come back again.

My girlfriend and I found this place on Unilocal as we were visiting the downtown area. As a beer Brewer, I was interested to sample some of the beers as well as have some lunch. The layout had an industrial feel and the service was great. The menus had several options, enough that both of us found something we liked. The portions were enough that both of us were full and leaving the place, I have two new favorites: Acacia Amber Ale and Charley’s tortilla chips.

We had an amazing experience on Labor Day for lunch! The view from the patio was wonderful. The servers were attentive, knowledgable and friendly. We took the advice of the other Unilocalers and got the nachos and tacos and the were incredible. We also tried out the hot dog on a pretzel bun which was delicious. As far as beer, the hot double cookie stout(3.5 stars), the third shift hobo coffee brown(4.5 stars) and the weitbeer(4 stars). We loved that they offered 4 oz pours so that we could try and couple and safely get back on the road! Can’t wait until they start bottling and distributing!

Great tacos get the pulled pork. Friendly people, I was walking my dog and sat outside with the dog the server came by with a water dish.

Highly suggest this place when you’re in town. The bartender, Tanner, was so nice and friendly and he suggested some great beers to try for a flight. Reasonable prices! So much so when I got the bill I actually exclaimed«That’s it!?!»:-) I’ll definitely return when I’m back in town.

First off service is slow. The wait staff is also your bartender. They should have a bartender. Staff is freindly, great atmosphere. I had the Brisket Tacos, you get three street like tacos loaded with brisket. The tacos were missing cilantro, big negative. The cheese was not necessary, it does not help the brisket. The brisket lacked a good smoke flavor. These definitely would be better on a corn tortilla instead of flour. Brisket nachos are good, again a little smokey wood flavor would go a. long way. Guacamole was very good. If your more interested in the beers than the food than this is your place. Excellant beers. I had the Third Shift Hobo Coffee Brown, not a strong coffee taste. The Brite Concussion is a very nice malty IPA. The Pine River Porter is decent, could be a little heavier. Extra note, on trivia night when Molly is speaking on the microphone the rest of the staff should stop talking. It would make it easier to hear her. Just saying. Overall a nice night. I would give it 4 stars if the food could justify the price. 3 street tacos runs $ 4 – 5 everywhere that’s not trying to up charge for the sake of profit.

The brewery has been listening to customers and has made some nice changes. Beer and food are excellent and management listens to customers. Can’t wait to come back.

Good beer, the food was good too. However, they have a very limited menu and the prices are high for such a limited bar food type menu. $ 3 for a tiny side of guac, $ 10 burgers, $ 12 for quesadillas(build your own, pay for toppings) Friendly staff!

Ate dinner here on a busy Friday night during the summer. Got a great table without having to wait. Great ambience and staff was pretty friendly. Loved sitting outside watching the busyness of the ferry dock and marina traffic. Super great place to people watch. I agree with the others that there is a really limited menu, but I expected that with it being a new brewery. Little pricy too as a basket of pickles cost $ 6. We also had the potato chip nachos as an app to and they were tasty. For a main course I had the barbacoa quesadilla and it was awesome. My husband had the pork tacos and those were great as well. My friends had a couple sandwiches and thought our dishes were way better. Beer was good too!

Excellent place to enjoy great beer and watch the boats go by. We stopped in on my birthday to see the incredible powerboats coming into the Harbor during the Boyne Thunder poker run, and it made for an awesome afternoon. Started off with a smooth Nutty Hobo, which was delicious; I don’t drink a lot of dark brews during the summer, but I’d make an exception for this — even sitting in the hot sun. After that, the wife and I switched to the Michigan Beach Blondie, which was also superb — nice rich flavor with a hint of sweetness — a great compliment to the Liquor Store Nachos that we ordered later. The venue is first-rate; nothing like sitting where you can see the water. The service was also tops… the servers were all helpful, pleasant and prompt. If you don’t stop here, then you haven’t experienced all that«Charlevoix The Beautiful» has to offer. I’ve been coming up here for over 50 years, and it just keeps getting better. Update 9÷6÷2015: returned for a visit after a response to my Unilocal review. I have nothing but complements and appreciation. They listened to my feedback and really made the changes. Everything was great now… service, food and kids menu. Thanks! Stopped in on the boat on Monday. Grill Menu only from Wed — Sun and no kids menu, so nothing for the kids to eat. Kids were upset so wives and kids returned to the boat and Subway. The beer and sandwiches were very good, but the mood was ruined for us. SO…returned on Wed to give it a 2nd shot with the grill menu, and then told the manager decided to start the grilling on Thursday. So again disappointed kids and we just left. Good foundation… BUT please work on the details!!!
