Tina’s Alterations

I took two jackets into Tina’s Alterations to have them taken in after I lost some weight and the seamstress took a lot of time measuring and molding my jacket to my body. It took her two weeks to finish the alterations and cost $ 170.00 for the extensive work that she did.
After putting the jackets on it is like wearing a new one. The feeling of both are very different than when I originally had them tailored at Men’s Wearhouse. I now look slimmer and feel more comfortable in them.
Well worth the price and the 2 week wait to have this done. I highly recommend that everyone give Tina a try!

Everything you have read about Tina’s is spot on. I took several pairs of pants in that needed everything from a hem, altered in the waist and tapered legs. All of the pants were done flawlessly. You would never know that I had not bought them in a store perfectly fitting to my body.
Pro’s:
Great location, great hours, friendly staff and most importantly — does a great job at tailoring your clothes to perfectly fit your body and your needs.
Con’s: Honestly I have none I can think of.

In my line of work, we need a lot of things altered and I’ve been thoroughly pleased with the work at Tina’s Alterations. The pricing is upfront, reasonable and the work they do is phenomenal. I’ve had several silk tops and dresses altered and each item has turned out perfect. We send our clients there to get complicated work done because we know we can trust Tina’s!

I came here with my wedding dress and got a great vibe while getting it sized correctly. My dress was going to get hemmed, taken in on the bodice, and have a bustle added.
It was only going to take one week for $ 180 ! Awesome !
So, my mom and I arrive one week later and I try my dress on. First thing I notice is a small blood stain near the zipper… Then I zip it up and notice it has not been hemmed. Tina said «oops I forgot to write it on the invoice».
We were upset, because Tina told us it would be an extra $ 100 to hem it. But wait… That wasn’t the number we had discussed. So now our total is $ 280.
Tina said it was her fault, but we still had to pay and wait 24 hours for her to hem it.
We also showed her the blood stain and she said she would clean it.
In the end, the dress turned out amazing and looks fantastic, but it was a hassle to deal with.

I take all my formal and semi formal dresses here and have always been pleased! Quick turnaround, almost zero wait to try on, and such friendly service! Will keep coming back.

I’m a lucky girl, I normally don’t need to alter any of my clothes. So when I have to hem my evening gown (was it made for a 7 feet tall giant??) for a special night, I was at lost. I called around to several places, but decided to give Tina’s a try mainly due to the many positive reviews on here, her location/​hours, her price quote ($ 20−30ish) AND she said she would get it ready for me in time.
I stopped in the week before the big night, Tina used a very cool chalk machine to mark the dress (which has a top saffron-​like layer and a bottom lining). She quoted me $ 30 but gave me a 5% off for cash payment. I told her I would need it by Thursday.
Thursday morning I called and confirmed that my dress was ready. I picked it up right before she closed at 7pm, and it was perfect. Almost too perfect — I had no choice but to wear that pair of heels because Tina hemmed it just right — any lower heels and it would be too long again.
I would recommend Tina’s for your special items. I saw alot of people stop in for regular stuffs too, but I personally will just keep pushing my luck and wear things off the rack :)

I brought my wedding dress in to have them take out the zipper and make it a corset closure. This was my first time here and they did an excellent job! You can’t tell that any alterations were made. I will continue to bring all of my alterations to this location.

I took my wedding dress with intricate lace detail to Tina’s to be hemmed, as a first-​time customer. Not only did the hem line look perfect, but she also went above and beyond and added a bustle feature as well as enhancing the bust line. I will be taking any future clothing item, especially ones I value, to Tina’s as she has proven her talent as a seamstress. I will also recommend my bridesmaids to go to her if they need any alterations for their dresses!

The first time I took a bridesmaids dress here to get hemmed and taken in, I got it back and it was taken in too much by about 2 inches so I had to buy a whole new bridesmaids dress. I should’ve learned my lesson after that, but the second time I took a bridesmaids dress to get hemmed and taken in, I tried it on after it was altered and it was taken in too much by 3 ½ inches this time. They did let it back out (although it’s still too tight). And to top it off, there are two little black spots on the back of the dress that looks like sharpie! The wedding is in three days in New York City and I’ll have to wear the dress as is… Very disappointed. Oh yeah, they still charged me $ 35 even though it’s too tight and there’s black market on it.

I tore my pants right before I had to get to a wedding. She sewed them up and had me out in 10 minutes. She only charged $ 6. Truly saved my day.

I ordered an expensive dress from NY but the company couldn’t do the alterations in time for my wedding due to their schedule. I was so panicked — I have heard horror stories about dresses being ruined in alterations so I researched everyone in Charlotte before choosing Tina’s. They were GREAT! Absolutely knew what they were doing, my dress turned out stunning — I had it hemmed, added a bustle, had them take the crinoline in to make it less mermaid, and adjusted the straps. It was not the cheapest price, but it only took 2 fittings over the course of 1 month and my dress was absolutely flawless for my wedding! I’ll only ever use Tina’s from now on!

Had my boyfriend’s pants done here and I was able to pick them up a few days early! I also brought in a shirt that ripped down the side due to a dog jumping up on me. She fixed it right on the spot in less than 5 minutes when I brought it in! The women here are so sweet and really care about their customers! I will definitely be a loyal customer as long as I’m in Charlotte!

Need some clothes tailored? Look no further. Tina’s Alterations offers the most affordable and quickest turn-​around time in all of Elizabeth. She is the only person who works in the front of the store but does have a lady that helps her make alterations in the back of the store. There are two private changing rooms and a mirrored platform for your use while she makes her adjustments in pins. If you like her on Unilocal,she will give you a 10% discount.
The decoration of the store is a bit outdated, but the work she does with the clothes is phenomenal. I recently took her some very expensive J. Crew dress pants and she made them fit perfectly.
There are several options when getting clothes tailored, but Tina is by far the best!

My very first visit I had a small opening in the arm of my leather jacket. When I got home I later noticed that the place next to what was repaired had come apart. Reluctantly I made a second trip in to have a lady look at the place that had came apart. They showed wonderful customer service by offering to repair at no charge. Turn around time for your basic alterations seems to be just a couple days and as long as you stay away during lunchtime, the parking is quite ample. That makes for an easy drop off and pick up. I think I have found my top choice for all alteration needs!

Talk about a lifesaver. I bought my bridesmaid dress this past January for a September wedding. Unfortunately, I gained some weight. Three weeks before the wedding, the bridesmaid dress barely zipped up; it was so uncomfortable. I’ve never had anything altered so I had no clue if there was any hope on making the dress larger… I was scared to even ask. Tina was amazing! She put my mind at ease and I finally slept well knowing she would do an amazing job with the confidence and expertise she exhibited. She made it sound like it was going to be so simple and never questioned her own judgement. I picked up the dress today with the wedding happening in 4 days and I can’t be happier. It’s so comfortable and flows beautifully.

I’ve brought many suits and dress shirts to Tina’s Alterations. The owner, Anne, is a perfectionist and my clothes are always flawless. I highly recommend to men that want to look good in their professional clothes.

Tina’s Alterations is hands down the best alterations place in Charlotte. The owner ‘Anne’ is such a nice lady; she is professional, efficient, and just a genuine person. For NYE I ordered a beautiful dress online, unfortunately what it was suppose to be a form-​fitting dress looked like a sparkly shapeless bag on me. Anne did the impossible and made this dress fit me like a glove. I have to admit I wasn’t very sure if a sequin dress would look good after being altered, but with no time for returns or exchanges I decided to take a chance. She did a fantastic job! Not only I had my dress on time, it looked amazing. I loved that she asked me to try it on to make sure I was 100% happy with it. I LOVED IT! Prices are very reasonable for such a great job. I love Anne and will not go anywhere else for alterations!

Who knew that finding a tailor would be so difficult. I’ve asked for recommendations searched Unilocal etc and didn’t have a whole lot of luck finding what I was looking for. To be honest I wasn’t looking for much just something close by that didn’t cost a fortune.
